Sir, are you having a stroke?

#1-norm-fan 03-26-2022 05:42 PM

Is he really just going by “Heath”? Lol

#1-norm-fan 03-26-2022 05:45 PM

All WWE castoffs should actually go by the first names WWE took away from them. Miro should be “Alexander”. Cesaro should debut as “Antonio”. That’s how you stick it to the man.

Very true, but it would totally work. Someone needs to learn the Rick Martel " high knees" on the hot tag.

Bad News Gertner 03-26-2022 06:20 PM

If you want to know what I mean about Rick Martel High Knees, watch this match. Actually, Martel here is the total gimmick. Then cut 80s fired up baby face promos like "and when the going gets tough! Well, that's just the way we like it!"

Fucking box office

#1-norm-fan 03-27-2022 10:31 AM

Lol How was that a face tag team? The 90s were ridiculous.

Fignuts 03-27-2022 11:20 AM

I mean, young, good looking guys were slotted in as faces most of the time, even well before the 90's.

If youre talking about the video specifically, Im pretty sure that was made for their female fanbase.

Right but they weren’t given male stripper gimmicks that oozed arrogance.

https://wrestlingnews.co/wp-content/...ican-Males.jpg

In hindsight, it’s ridiculous that these douches weren’t heels. Lol

#1-norm-fan 03-27-2022 12:31 PM

Oh my God.

Was Riggs’ “clap” gimmick in ECW a reference to that? I never pieced that together before.

Bad News Gertner 03-27-2022 01:00 PM

Lol yes

And that gave birth to his amazing theme

It really wasnt that uncommon for the era. Again, I think it was more about pandering to the female fanbase. Its not something you ever saw in the WWE, but it happened a lot in the territories and to a lesser extent wcw. Gotta attract ringrats for the boys.

I love that a 59 year old Vader in 2014 was all in lol

Jordan 03-28-2022 08:45 AM

I'm going to condense the story I was just reading into a little blurb.

Ric Flair has fired Mark Madden from his Podcast and is going to work with his son in law Conrad Thompson on the show going forward. I'm not sure why they didn't start the show off together but it does seem like a much better fit to have Conrad with Ric.

Madden supposedly was told by Flair that the show was canceled, but then later found out from Conrad that the show was continuing just without Madden involved. This lead to a twitter back and forth between Flair and Madden. Flair was being a bit cruel for seemingly no reason and Madden quipped back insulting Flair's alcoholism and depression.

I am highly suspicious that a good part of that is a work to promote the podcast now that he's working with Conrad

Mark Madden is a goof.

Love Martel high knees. He did it as a heel too.

Conrad Thompson has a full-time job on top of, what’s this, his 7th or 8th weekly podcast? At least two of which need to be done around his co-host’s schedules.

Where does he even find the time to eat 6 square meals a day?

Bad News Gertner 03-28-2022 11:12 AM

He's been having Paul Bromwell who is horrible, fill in a good amount

Mr. Nerfect 03-28-2022 11:45 AM

Will Smith vs. Chris Rock is pure pro-wrestling. You can’t see through it.

James Steele 03-28-2022 12:19 PM

Conrad's podcasts have lost a lot of their charm. I can't remember the last time I listened to a full one. It may just be that there are so many and they mostly all follow the same format.

Mr. Nerfect 03-28-2022 12:22 PM

I can’t listen to Conrad’s podcasts. I will sometimes listen to clips of Bischoff explaining some TV stuff, but on the actual wrestling side he’s full of shit.

I’ve gone back and listened to some of the older career retrospective episodes with Prichard lately from when they would just go for 5+ hours about Pillman or Dustin Rhodes. Those are always fun listens.

Also love the earlier Schiavone watch-alongs but they’re barely even wrestling podcasts. Lol I just love listening to those two fuck around.

Bad News Gertner 03-28-2022 01:23 PM

Jeff Jarrett's podcast is really good and I'll listen to JR's depending on the topic but that's it. I've got so many podcasts in my rotation as it is.

Mr. Nerfect 03-28-2022 02:13 PM

Oh shit, I listen to Jeff’s clips sometimes too. Actually just completely forgot that was a Conrad podcast because Jeff is so soothing.

The Super Bowl next year is on FOX. If the WWE can get a spot at 10pm after it, that’s a possible 100 million viewer lead-in. If you’re building Rock and Roman at the time? Pretty big for them.

Crippla 03-29-2022 05:09 AM

He has Jarrett, JR, Angle, Bischoff, Prichard, Schiavone, and now adding Flair to that rotation. There may be another one or two podcasts I can't think of on top of his "Save with Conrad" mortgage loan business not to mention his marriage to Flair's daughter Megan and he still has time to keep himself in the shape of the blob! Gotta give Conrad some props for that!
