I listened to that podcast and it was pretty interesting. Drew (the man, not the character) reminded me a lot of myself, just the way he spoke for example, and that he seemed to be a bit reserved/shy sometimes. Jericho really kept trying to pull information out of him but Drew would find ways to avoid giving him clear answers. Though Jericho did manage to get it out of Drew that he would like to face AJ Styles one day and also that he would love to wrestle in Japan. I think Drew would do great in Japan.

Drew had a lot of ideas for 3MB but according to him, they always got shot down. One I was surprised at that got shot down, was that Adam Jones from Tool, offered to appear in vignettes with 3MB and teach them how to play a simple piece on guitar, and would allow them to appear at their gigs and so on, all for free. But Vince or Dunn or whoever, said no. Drew kept saying that since 3MB's formation, they were pretty much dead in the water. It made me think why would Vince say so to this stuff. :-\

Also, Drew said that right before 3MB was formed, he had a match with Jinder on Superstars where he was the face, as Vince wanted to see how he would do as a face. That could have been interesting is that took off, but then we wouldn't have had 3MB.

Though I do think it's cool that when asked what his most memorable/special moment with the WWE was, he said it was when he was at a house show in Glasgow and he was given the mic and was able to thank the fans and also his parents who were in attendance. He then proceeded to get a spotlight to shine on them while he spoke about the night his parents conceived him. The reason I think it's cool is because I was there that night. It's cool that I was a "part" (I guess you can say) of his most memorable/special moment with the WWE.

That was actually a pretty good call. If someone else (rtd, rdd, LJ etc) had of said the same thing, everybody would have loved it.

ron the dial 06-21-2014 10:33 AM

i would never, EVER make a joke like that about my beloved cm punk.

Lock Jaw 06-21-2014 12:08 PM

AJ being pregnant is just an internet rumour for now anyways.....

But will CM Punk walk out on fatherhood when the baby is put over in the main event and receives more attention than him?!?!

Whole podcast made me really sad. The guy was talented with a great looks and enough unique about him to really make it big and WWE chucked it all away. A stable/feud with Sheamus and/or Barrett, given their history would have been great.

Listened to Vader on Austin's podcast the other day and he was talking about how in Europe they used to wrestle in rounds and how it could work as a once a night/special occasion type deal even today in WWE to add some variety.

Made me want to see a Barrett/McIntyre/Regal/Sheamus group that took the US Title, replaced it with the European Championship (major heat right there in the US) and would only defend it in "European Style" matches. Could generate so much heat where the babyface is about to win but the heel is saved by the bell, or with the heel cheap-shoting the face at the end of the round, etc.

Obviously they could still do this but without Drew. Hope he ends up in TNA.

whiteyford 06-21-2014 12:33 PM

Yeah my dad keeps going on about the rounds/public warnings and the like from world of sport era, would just like them to reintroduce time limits as a regular thing. There was a feud in the late 90s where the matches kept ending by time limit, wanna say HHH was involved, they just extended the time limit for a couple of weeks and eventually the PPV match stip was no time limit, really simple logical booking that could add a bit of drama if used right.

Drew will be fine though, really underutilized talent.

Only if the baby first gets a gig in a Marvel movie and then comes back to the main event scene.

ron the dial 06-21-2014 12:48 PM

i know they busted out a rounds match between Nigel mcguinness and colt cabana in ROH back in 2005 or so. it was interesting. could definitely work in wwe if booked properly.

I've been coming across a few people on the internet that are jumping to conclusions and saying that Drew will definitely be going to TNA.

Their reason for thinking that is because Drew said on Jericho's podcast that he wanted to "make an impact".

whiteyford 06-21-2014 01:05 PM

Depends how much clout his ex has there and how much he asks for I suppose. Could see him doing a few tours of Japan just to give himself a breather from the US scene.

Seth82 06-21-2014 02:40 PM

southern tag team great Don Greene has passed away.

He and brother Al were huge stars down in Tennessee for Nick Gulas in the 60's and 70's as The Original Heavenly Bodies.

Man those fans certainly hated those two back in the day.

RIP Don Greene

He could also be planning to join the circus and be a human cannonball shot out of a cannon and it'd be the same amount of impact.

I like that the Titantrons (Apart from Stardust & Rosa's, for obvious reasons) are actually showing moves now. For a long time, the average Titantron just showed the name, the wrestler's face, the wrestler interacting with the crowd and the wrestler posing.

They showed practically no wrestling.

Cool King 06-21-2014 02:57 PM

Also, Slater still using the 3MB theme. :'(

Droford 06-21-2014 03:08 PM

Reigns still using the Shield theme.

Lock Jaw 06-21-2014 03:50 PM

Remixed Shield theme.

..... REMIXED TO BE GARBAGE!!  :foc:

(Ok, not garbage. Not as good, though.)

drave 06-21-2014 03:52 PM

Diggin the Stardust theme. Kinds sounds like a "dark" version of Goldust at first. Definitely needs to be heel. THink Cody finally found something that is going to work.

Rammsteinmad 06-21-2014 04:48 PM

Not gonna deny, I'm totally amazed at how awesome Dean Ambrose works as a face.

Let's be honest here, everybody here always figured Ambrose would eventually turn out to be the 'snake-in-the-grass' that turned on the Shield. But so far his crazy, revenge-driven face persona is pretty awesome.

I still wish the Shield were together though. :(

Lock Jaw 06-21-2014 04:50 PM

I don't get why him and Roman Reigns have gone their separate ways. "One of our brothers turned on us, I guess there's no point of us being brothers anymore either. Seeya."

Ambrose seemed to be the most pissed off at Rollins and being the crazy guy he is, he won't stop until he finally gets Rollins and kicks his ass.

Reigns on the other hand, is angry at Triple H for everything Triple H has done to him (and also Ambrose) recently. (The attacks on The Shield that Triple H coordinated, the handicap matches that Triple H set up, The whole Evolution/Shield feud, as both men were the leaders of each group, and Triple H forbidding Roman Reigns from entering the battle royal this week) Reigns wants to get back at Triple H for all that.

So both Ambrose and Reigns are focusing on/after two different guys, so they quietly went their separate ways to go after those separate men, disbanding The Shield in the process. Though I'm sure they're still going to work together every now and then, as Triple H and Rollins will most likely be doing that too.

WWE issued a survey this week to fans on their mailing list and asked if Brock Lesnar challenges for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view, who should he face.

The options were all 7 Superstars in the Money In the Bank Ladder Match for the vacant title. Roman Reigns is currently leading the vote with almost 50%. Cesaro is in second place followed by Bray Wyatt and John Cena tied, Randy Orton, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio last with just 2%.

To be fair, The Rock's theme started off as nothing but a remix to The Nation of Domination's theme, and after several iterations, has evolved into what everyone knows and loves today.
