O_______O. It's the equivalent of David Cronenberg's twisted mind ala Dead Ringers and a bit of Holy Mountain/Kubrick style sequences. I liked the themes of religion, teen angst, losing virginity, birth control, uncontrolled STDs in one movie aside from the ambition of having science taking control over the overprotecting parents..

The ending was just... another scream of, "WHY THE FUCK DID SHE DO THAT?!?! WHAT IS SHE TRYING TO PROVE HERE?!?!"

Although it taught me a lesson about losing virginity without controlled behavior or being paranoid of asking if the girl has STDs. Loved that part btw.

10/10.

Looper - really great/100

Schlomey 10-12-2012 03:32 AM

Snow White and the huntsman - 3/10

It sucked. And Kristen Stewart really is the worst.

Blitz 10-13-2012 01:27 AM

The Perks of Being a Wallflower: 9/10. Hit me right here, y'know?

It says on the cover it's a horror movie.

So it's a horror movie about losing virginity, birth control and STDs?

Raven Reaper 10-14-2012 08:05 PM

Yeah well not only that,
SPOILER: show
The ending even had the main sociopathic girl killing her sister and the neighbor jump roping bitch by lung transplants due to her sister's cystic fibrosis disease.

Some critics say it's more of a black comedy type of horror. :/

6/10.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zB8hwZgOQ1...Motel-2012.jpg

Really does live up to its name.
SPOILER: show
Everyone dies on this one due to "secrets" being revealed by each friend, and a little girl ghost kills them one by one either by luring them to the highway until a truck runs over them or falling in the basement when doors keep slamming shut. I liked the twist subplot of the killer being an adopted brother of the ghost girl before the accident happened at the start of the movie. Weird-ass shit going on here.

Argo-7.5/10. Solid flick, but I don't have any urge to go back and watch it again. Though the final quarter or so is some of the best suspense filmmaking I've seen in a while.

Pretty much agree, although the runway scene felt too contrived to be suspenseful... the rest was good though. I'd give it a 7.5 as well.

Space Jam - 3/10
Air Force One - 9/10
Monsters, Inc - 6/10
Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds - 9/10
The Darjeeling Limited - 6/10
ENTER THE FUCKING DRAGON - 10/10

Skippord 10-15-2012 10:30 PM

I would punch you in the face if you gave Space Jam a 3/10 in my presence

that movie is at least a 9

Nicky Fives 10-16-2012 02:43 PM

Friday The 13th (original) - 5/10...... nothing special, but I could see how it was very popular in 1980.....

Cool King 10-16-2012 07:52 PM

Looper - 9/10

Good News Gertie 10-17-2012 10:40 AM

Seven Psychopaths - 10/10

Yeah, Air Force One is a classic.

PorkSoda 10-18-2012 08:35 PM

It's like Die Hard on an airplane with Harrison Ford and the president.

Wild Wild West - 4/10

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi

All of them get a 10 out of 10. First time really sitting down to watch them and pay attention to them. I'm not all THAT impressed, like how hyped and how big these movies are, but I am impressed enough to give them a 10 blah blah blah blah blah.

PorkSoda 10-18-2012 08:38 PM

Oh, also....

The Real Rocky - 10/10

A biography on Chuck Wepner. Fucking Sylvester Stallone basically stole this dude's identity to make millions. Seriously. And fucking SYLVESTER STALLONE IS INDUCTED IN THE BOXING HALL OF FAME DUE TO THE ROCKY CHARACTER and CHUCK WEPNER, the guy who KNOCKED DOWN Muhammed Ali, is NOT in the hall of fame, and he's selling liquor in his hometown while being married to his third wife.

GD 10-18-2012 11:27 PM

Sinister - 4/10

Skippord 10-19-2012 01:56 PM

Memento: 10/10

Chris Nolan is the best

RoXer 10-19-2012 09:43 PM

Argo - 66

It's really nothing fantastic but I can already tell this will be the darling come Oscar season what with the amount of actors in it, those who produced it, and the general anti-muslim/pro-jew sentiment throughout the whole film and we all know the jews run the media so they eat this shit up just like the illiuminati are controlling all of hollywood right now open your eyes sheeple the jews are controlling everything that--

oop, sorry. Been reading too many slik conspiracy posts.

RoXer 10-19-2012 09:44 PM

I do think this will get an unworthy amount of praise though come award season

the 30 for 30 one right? Highly questionable, I'd say he inspired the basic "journeyman gets a title shot" aspect at most. And Wepner stepped on Ali's foot, bullshit knockdown http://www.tpww.net/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif

The Grey

6.0/10

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie that tried so hard to get you to care about the characters while doing so little to develop them.
Some of the action scenes are fun, and there is a palpable tension throughout the movie, however, I felt it bogged down in the middle and wandered aimlessly toward the end.
SPOILER: show
Speaking of the ending, it would've been nice if this movie had one.
I realize they're trying to go for the 'assumed' ending, but when your final scene depicts Liam Neeson duct-taping broken shooters to his fists in a last stand against an alpha wolf, you might as well go all the way with it.
Instead, the movie ends at the last possible second before the fight ensues.

Not a terrible movie, but it tries to take itself way more seriously than it should.

Cool King 10-20-2012 06:05 AM

The Room - I really don't know how to rate this. It was good, but only because it was so bad that it was actually entertaining. If that makes sense. :-\

I watched it last night was a group of friends, so that was probably what made it so good, that we could all laugh at it. I get the feeling if I watched it alone, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did.

So I guess if I rate it by how much I enjoyed it last night, I'd give it something like 8/10.

The Destroyer 10-20-2012 06:22 AM

Taken - 7.5/10, possibly nudging to an 8. I do like Liam Neeson.

Tommy Gunn 10-20-2012 11:27 AM

Finally seen Avengers, Joss Whedon took what could have easily turned into a complete clusterfuck and delivered a thoroughly entertaining film. 8/10

Ermaximus 10-20-2012 04:03 PM

Paranormal Activity 4-4/10

There were some cool parts involving a Kinect sensor and some visible spirits, but other than that, this franchise has run its course. Sadly, it looks like PA5 is going to take place in all Spanish. Hooray.

Nicky Fives 10-20-2012 05:39 PM

I watched every Friday The 13th movie this week..... they were alright, I don;t feel like going into the details, but Parts 2, 5 & 8 were the best.....

The Destroyer 10-21-2012 06:00 AM

Inside Man - 8/10

Very good film.

There is a post credits scene, which doesn't really explain anything.

Octopussy

8/10

Really a 7/10, but I bumped it up to 8 to go with the Octo-theme.

The Book Of Eli - 5/10

Started off pretty good w/ Denzel doing all this Jet Li shit, and then Mila Kunis came and it looked like it was gonna be good but it went nowhere and really who cares

Prol Denzels worst film

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-21-2012 06:14 PM

Goon 8.5/10

It was pretty funny but not the best hockey movie ever. Probably the best one since Slap Shot though.
