Eric Bischoff talked some real sense about AEW and the 18-49 bullshit perpetuated by the internet community recently.
Something I noticed about Danielson after last night. He's obviously a huge deal wrestler to have on board. Kind of the perfect guy for AEW in every aspect. The thing is that right now the audience is responding to him primarily based on his amazing work in WWE. We are still looking at Daniel Bryan, we haven't see the change to American Dragon yet.
I think that will just take a bit of time. But here we are a month and two matches in and he has delivered in every aspect. He's the fucking man. But I am excited to see how his stories develop in AEW and how his personality starts to connect with the AEW audience specifically. |
My prediction for the upcoming weeks.
We have the Casino Ladder Match on Wednesday with a bunch of great talents Mox, Archer, Hardy, Andrade, PAC and OC plus the Joker. I don't think any of those guys makes any sense to go against Kenny any time soon so I am gonna guess the Joker will be Hangman Page. He wins the ladder match, get's the contract and challenges for Full Gear. With that as the main event I think AEW could be building to a certain tag team match that could be incredible. CM Punk and Danielson have both mentioned the idea of them teaming against The Young Bucks. With Kenny busy at Full Gear with Hangman, I think that now would be the time to do that tag match. I don't think that Punk will be feuding with Team Taz all the way til Full Gear so he can be inserted into the fray in the coming weeks. Early Predicitons for Full Gear: Omega v Hangman for the AEW World Championship Punk & Danielson vs The Young Bucks MJF vs Darby Allin Adam Page vs Christian Cage With the TNT Championship there is one angle I think could be really interesting, depending on what their actual plans are. They could do a four-way match with Sammy v MJF v Darby v Jungle Boy. The four pillars going for the gold. Could be really good shit. |

It’s a good thing Bryan Danielson finally had a five star match. I was getting concerned about his future in this business. Nice of Omega to help him raise his game.

The rumored ratings for Rampage are not good...
yeah there's no hope for growth on friday night prime time. there's a reason there's never been a successful show in that time slot ever on any station ever.
the fact they were put in that time slot tells you everything you need to know
ill walk that back just a fuzz. abc had a family sitcom block in the 90s that had some marketing success that aires on fridays. so theyre you go. to be successful on fridays sd! and rampage need to have wholesome comedy and home video footage. nothing else has ever worked.
because everyone else is out tryin to fuck
Yeah, it’s not a slot that screams “this is going places.” But hey, they are making more free content for TNT, so they may not care if it crashes and burns there, as long as they don’t leave money on the table like that something else in that slot could do.

prolly a bit too early to say if they just did it.
PREDICTION: none of the dramas get picked up for renewal |
If they were aimed at older audiences, then it KINDA makes sense. Families, children, oldies. They’re the ones at home. A lot of channels over here just show old movies.
ya know what shouldnt air on friday night? material for 18-34 males

TGIF itself sounds like a scheme to make a time slot more attractive.
Yeah Friday at 10 PM is not a good time slot. Maybe they should eventually try Saturdays at 8 PM or something, but that's also not a great slot and is when some of their PPVs air... Tuesdays and Thursdays are too close to Dynamite on Wednesday... so I guess Friday at 10 is the best available spot probably
They could do the ol' Sunday Night Heat time slot.
Against Sunday Night Football?
I don't know what time slot Heat was in, but if it is Sunday evening, that doesn't bode well. |
Heat was Sunday 7PM ET, so it would end right before football starts (if it's still an hour show)
Rampage needs to stick to an hour. 3 hours is enough product a week to digest.
Heat aired against football on the west coast. That was when Sunday Night Football was the “B-show” of primetime football on ESPN though so I guess that helped a little.
Early Sunday evening has got to be better than late Friday night even with SNF.
There’s not really demand enough for Dynamite let alone a second show. It’s volume over quality. They provide cheap filler.
I’m interested to see what Dynamite does this week, what with Rampage being quite down and Rhodes to the Top being even more (bad?) AEW exposure.
Yeah Sundays at 7 PM would actually probably be better than Fridays at 10
Does TNT already have a Tuesday 8 pm show? I don't see why they wouldn't just put Rampage against NXT especially with how NXT 2.0 is turning out.
