I think the NWA show had a seating limit of 75 due to Covid laws in Georgia

Which Georgia? What restrictions?

Bad News Gertner 12-05-2021 06:53 PM

PWInsider█reports that the reason Saturday night’s NWA Hard Times 2 PPV had such a small crowd was because they found out on November 30th that only 90 fans would be allowed at the show since GBS Studios in Atlanta, GA takes government funding and thus was obligated to follow more restrictive standards

Sepholio 12-05-2021 06:58 PM

thats ridiculous. There are no restrictions on public gatherings here lol to get screwed over because the building has government funding is hilarious.

Still seems really strange though. I was in a government funded building in the same town a few weeks ago and there were WAAAAAAAY more than 90 people in there.

Edit: Also strange because our state lifted all COVID orders and restrictions at the state level like 4 or 5 months ago at least.

That crowd is fucking sad. I’ve seen bigger crowds at the local indy fed here in San Diego and it’s nothing but local guys for most of their shows.

Is he Fandango, though? Or did he go back to being FANDANGOO?

Damian Rey 2.0 12-06-2021 01:01 AM

Wikipedia says he’s used the name Dirty Dango (barf) on the indies.

Mr. Nerfect 12-06-2021 04:25 AM

I wish for the NWA and MLW to reach new heights. 5k for MLW is a good number. It’s a shame about the restrictions for the NWA. Here’s hoping Johnny Curtis & JTG take them to mainstream success. Charismatic cats in that group.

Lol That’s actually not a bad name while he’s doing his midcard semi-comedy thing.

Might need to just go by his real name when he starts capturing every major indy title on the planet though.

I thought that MLW number seemed crazy. It turns out it was in Mexico and was a “super show” with a Mexican promotion in their home arena with mostly their wrestlers.

Tremendous.

#1-norm-fan 12-06-2021 12:24 PM

If anything were to get Cornette out amongst the people again it’s that.

That doesn’t surprise me. Seems unlikely the MLW name itself would draw 5k.

Austin Aries wore a cape to the ring at the NWA ppv...while he is a bridge-burning moron everywhere he goes I must commend him for the cape.

I forgot Christopher Daniels wrestle in WCW.

Who do we have left that has/can wrestle the WCW/WWE/AEW trifecta? (List only)

Lock Jaw 12-06-2021 02:55 PM

Is that "Reno"? I remember really loving his Roll the Dice finisher when he debuted.... thought it looked great....

Mr. Nerfect 12-06-2021 03:07 PM

How dare they forget Carlito did the Apple Turnover for a few weeks there.

It is

Bad News Gertner 12-06-2021 03:09 PM

Test also used that finisher. The "Test Drive" I believe it was called. It was my finisher for HCTP

Are we talking contracted wrestlers, or are wrestlers who did jobs on shows like Heat count.

#1-norm-fan 12-06-2021 03:12 PM

We should probably go contracted.

#1-norm-fan 12-06-2021 03:12 PM

Nah, fuck it. Let’s get extensive.

#1-norm-fan 12-06-2021 03:14 PM

Also, is Jericho the only one to add ECW to the resume? (Not counting WWECW)

Bad News Gertner 12-06-2021 03:17 PM

Brain Gerwirtz is releasing a book next year about his time in the WWE. Thank should be VERY interesting.

Has Arn Anderson been in a AEW match?

ron the dial 12-06-2021 03:19 PM

i think tully is the only contracted "legend" with that distinction so far.

Bad News Gertner 12-06-2021 03:19 PM

Tully wrestled in ECW

Not yet that I know of. I forgot about him having a match in ECW though.

And if he did have a cinematic match, it doesn’t count. Those aren’t wrestling matches.

What???

Bad News Gertner 12-06-2021 03:23 PM

He wrestled Shane Douglas in a 60 minute draw. It was horrendous.

Sepholio 12-06-2021 03:26 PM

oh god I might have to watch that train wreck

ron the dial 12-06-2021 03:28 PM

lol yeah i need to see at least some of that shitshow

#1-norm-fan 12-06-2021 03:34 PM

For all Paul Heyman’s genius and his foresight to mix hardcore and traditional rasslin’ sometimes it seemed like he’d fall into the trap of “long match = good match”.

There’s no reason for those two to go an hour in the mid 90s.

It happened in late 1994/early1995 I believe. It was during Shane's crusade to make ECW more traditional.

Johnny Swinger has wrestled almost everywhere. He’s probably too good for AEW though.
