I like Melissa Benoist, though I've ever seen her in anything other than her fappening photos.

Ryan went trick or treating as a superhero.

Howling Commandoes used to be such a cool team. Now it's a monkey, a werewolf, some monster that looks like Abomination, Man-Thing and Dum Dum Dugan.
Oh shit, there's also a zombie Jasper Sitwell. |

I totally prefer this sequence. |
It really pisses me off what Marvel has done with Xavier, the Summers boys and the Greys. Started with the dismantling of the Lilandra/Xavier relationship and ended with the radicalization of Cyclops and Havok. Cyclops died a insane villain and should have gone out a hero .......
|
Lol Cyclops is dead?
He'll be back. |
Actually the way Secret Wars is still going and they already started the All New franchise we don't even know how Cyclops died this time. New X-Men books mention him going against Inhumans and dying and that's pretty much it. No explanation whatsoever.
During Secret Wars he got his neck snapped by Doctor Doom. Marvel books are very fucking confusing now. |
Pftt.... "got his neck snapped". Gonna take more than that to kill a major Marvel character.
Didn't Magneto once get his head cut off? |
Cyclops was also possessed by the Phoenix Force at the time.
It was to show how powerful Doom is in Battleworld. Still, the new books apparently have a different story about his death. I gave up on trying to understand Marvel quite some time ago. That whole Secret Wars stuff is the shittiest thing to happen in years. |

I don't know how they could possibly sink lower than Secret Wars.

What's so bad about Secret Wars? (And how many secret wars have there been?). Is it just a general confusion with so many things being changed?
I feel like you covered this a few pages back, but fuck me Marvel is so confusing now like you said. Dunno what's going on with anyone any more. |
All the universes collided, so Earth 616 and 1610 (Ultimate) were no longer, only Battleworld was left. All kinds/versions of different characters were there at once and it was just all a huge clusterfuck.
It's still going actually. This week Secret Wars 8 (out of 9) came out at the same time as new titles are already going strong. Like Uncanny Avengers issue 3. And you have no idea how this all happenned because Secret Wars hasn't even ended yet. It just hurts my brain. |

Sounds like they wanna try and mix the best elements of both universes into one, focusing on the ones that are most recognizable to the general public.
For example... is Nick Fury still around? The original, white-skinned cigar smoking David Hasslehoff one? Feels like I haven't heard about him in forever coz black, Ultimate, Samuel L. Jackson Fury is pretty much THE Nick Fury now. |
Original Fury is The Unseen One now, a replacement for The Watcher.
Check out the Original Sin crossover, that's where it happens. And the dumbest thing about Furys was when they wanted to introduce the black version in the original universe and they ended up giving the original Fury a black son, who's also missing an eye. |
Am I the only one reading the new Dr Strange series? Read first 2 issues and it is damn good. Almost makes up for how wretched Secret Wars has been.
|
New Dr Strange is batshit insane. Not sure how I feel about that series.

just learned the last issue of Secret Wars core series is gonna be released in the middle of January. This is fucking ridiculous.
|
Honestly I just ignored Secret Wars and picked up once the new titles started rolling out. I will admit I've been a tiny bit confused a few times, but for the most part I think I'm having an easier time of it than people who actually read Secret Wars.
|
honestly, the marvel books have been just pissing me off the past few months. as in, it's considered 'dumb' entertainment and stuff and it's frustrating I don't understand what's going on at all, like I'm too dumb for comics ;(
|
I can totally see why you feel that way. Personally I haven't had too much trouble, but I also spend like countless hours watching videos and reading articles about comic book history and goings on too. I've only been reading comics for about 3 years now, but I probably have the same amount of knowledge now as the average person that'd been reading their whole life lol. I'm also the kind of person that tends to look too deeply between the lines and sometimes I read more into things than I think was actually intended. Not sure if that helps me to understand (or feel like I understand) the comics better or what.
|
Well, try Secret Wars and no amount of videos and articles can help you understanding what in the fuck that story is all about. It's just retarded.
|
Hence why I think I'm just gonna avoid it for all of eternity. After Convergence over at DC I'm pretty much never gonna trust any of the "universes colliding" crap in comics ever again.
|
Do you need to read any tie ins for secret wars?
