Wonder if this is just general incompetence on their part or them still suffering some side effects after firing Mark Carrano from Talent Relations since his firing played a big role over the confusion of how Aleister/Malakai Black was able to get out of no-compete early.

Pretty sure when they started giving 5 year contracts instead of 3, they also included 3 year outs. Not sure if it a mutual option. Might be WWE had to exercise the option within a certain time or the out kicks in.

Might explain why even Adam Cole didnt know his contract was up sooner than he thought. That could certainly be something that got lost track of once Carrano waa fired.
