Could the female Starlord be a Blonde Kitty Pryde or better yet... Sue Richards in search of her children?

......THAT'S THE THING!?
FUCK THIS MOVIE! |
He looks like a big guy made of rocks.
Soooooooooooo |
It's Clobbering Time?
It's just Thing not the Thing. |
Ava DuVernay will not be doing Black Panther anymore (though really she never signed). Says they didn't see eye to eye, which is almost surely based on whatever social justice undertones I was afraid she was gonna attempt.
I want Marvel to expand their search past black directors. Same with Captain Marvel and female directors. They wanna make this hoopla for press but this is the fourth director who walked from the MCU. Most were different reasons but they can avoid a lot of grief by laying down the ground rules, especially since Joss is gone and they have no 'showrunner' outside of Feige. |
With the Black Panther don't those undertones have to exist for the modern character to be relevant?
|
Yes and no. There are degrees, and I'm pretty sure she wanted to go full blast. That would have compromised the requisite tone of 'The MCU Movie'. Winter Soldier's political thriller and Guardians' space opera are examples of stretching the formula, but they feel like MCU movies. She was not a good choice. Her interview with Essence give hints of the tonal rift. I don't think she'd have time to showcase elements of the larger universe when she probably wanted to use the movie to make some kind of social point.
I was just talking to Khuntry about the fallout and off the top of my head I named a few directors who could merge Black Panther's cultural themes with the action-comedy, mythology of the MCU. Andy Serkis (already in the movie as the villain) and Neill Blomkamp (perfect choice, imo) were some of the top picks for me. As well as John Singleton and, not even kidding, Tyler Perry. These guys could channel Black Panther's unique themes as well as play ball with MCU's guidelines. |
I don't read the comics anymore, but have they revealed who FemThor is?

The Vanity fair reporter from IM1-2 really moved up in the world since her 'spread' for Tony Stark.

Marisa Tomei Joins The Cast Of Marvel's SPIDER-MAN As 'Aunt May' This is really odd. |
I'm too used to Aunt May being an old woman. Suppose it makes sense given the age with Peter that they're aiming for.
|

Don't think this is the right choice but we will see. |
She's way too young to be Aunt May, but the MCU has yet to disappoint me so I'm gonna go ahead and give them the benefit of the doubt.
|
Probably shooting for a more Unlimitied vibe.
|
So long as she constantly tells Parker not to forget the damn milk. Damn kid.

Why was Aunt May really old anyway? Peter Parker was a teen. His parents at that time would have been in their 40s. So his aunt and uncles could have been at their very oldest in their 50s or possibly just barely 60. Still far from being an old doddery grandma.
|
60's storytelling and the need for Peter to be raised with Old school sensibilities I would imagine plus taking care of his frail old Aunt May gave Peter something more to worry about than just school, kept him grounded.

Leaked footage of Apocalypse:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit...news/?a=122741 Not crazy about the look. |
Hard to tell from the video, but looks way too small for Apocalypse.
|
Yeah. Also the face looks like a regular human face. But blue.
|
Seems plausible. Apocalypse can alter his size and shape-shift and stuff. Clip barely reveals anything.
Gambit movie is cool though. Didn't realize he was getting a solo outing. I'm excited for that. |
Was thinking about Chaning Tatum as Gambit the other day, and thought that's a pretty solid casting job.
|
I think he's a little too buff, but overall good.
He'd look retarded in this kinda headpiece cause of his protruding ears http://media.ignimgs.com/media/ign/i.../65_Gambit.jpg |
Good thing they're not doing the headpiece.
|

I don't think I've heard any kind of details about Gambit yet. |
A conclusion based on no other character with that headpiece having it in a movie. It's not 'signature' to Remy or anything. The guarantees are the staff, cards, and coat. Bodysuit is wait and see. But certainly no weird headpiece. Even the comics are wavy on it nowadays.
|
Fair enough.
|
Gambit getting a solo movie is definitely a surprise. I never would have guessed we'd get one truthfully. Especially with how horribly they used him in the Wolverine Origins movie. Is Chaning Tatum confirmed to be playing him?
|
Yup. Confirmed.

Actually Channing said he's working with somebody to nail the accent. Result quality may vary.

Just read that there's going to be a female version of Blade now too..... Marvel really overdoing it.....
|
You mean his new daughter, Fallon? She's fuckin awesome.
|
I just wonder when all the changes to their universe(s) will blow up in their faces and they'll go back to the way things used to be.
Also, I don't think I've ever heard of Blade's daughter. |
Leaked Apocalypse trailer. Shitty quality and you can only see half the screen most of the time.
