That's kind of a great marketing idea that I feel like more companies should have thought of.

Dirtsheets (All from Observer):

Quote:

Since a lot of people have asked about this related to Mysterio and last week’s issue, all standard WWE contracts are written with the clause that the company can extend the contract based on the wrestlers not performing for an extended period of time due to an injury. So WWE doing the automatic renewal of his expiring contract is something specifically mentioned in his deal and in all standard deals.
Quote:

The ring outfit of Rollins is a point of discussion right now. As part of current plans this week, Rollins is not going to be a member of Evolution, and there are no plans for a third new member of The Shield.
Quote:

Adam Rose being off Raw this week is an indication already that they are cooling off on the character. Vince McMahon, who makes all the key choices, isn’t the easiest one to get to accept new people as main players. He’s said not to be completely sold on any of the recent characters. Bo Dallas’ push is still continuing on almost every show. Kevin Dunn apparently buried Rose and Vince isn’t sold on him either. That’s why Paige has the title but little character developmental has been done her. Dunn right now is a huge proponent of Fox, so her gimmick will continue to be featured.
Quote:

Lots of rumors of long-term plans of a physical Hall of Fame and wrestling museum as WWE has gone to a lot of historians and made some good money offers for memorabilia. Vince McMahon has never had interest in this, but Paul Levesque seems to be the point guy on this idea.
Quote:

The talk this week was of fast tracking Kalisto to the main roster by the end of the year. The company feels the need to have a Latino babyface star and they’ve clearly given up on Sin Cara and Los Matadores as anything more than prelim level.
Quote:

As I suspected last week, the Tyson Kidd as a masked man thing is looking less likely. It now looks like he’s going to go heel.

screech 06-12-2014 10:43 PM

Good. Do not like Adam Rose.

#1-norm-fan 06-12-2014 10:55 PM

Instead of having a new gimmick debut and "cooling off" on them within a month, Vince should probably just... ya know... watch NXT.

Seriously, just fucking have some writers who specifically take care of the midcard scene. The reason it's been shit for years is because no one is gaining any momentum because they all get pushed for a month, de-pushed, then expected to be taken seriously again for a month, then forgotten and de-pushed again, and so on. It's not that hard to fix. It's just an issue of laziness.

Damian Rey 06-12-2014 11:23 PM

Weren't the live crowds singing along with his music and somewhat digging him? I don't get what the fucking point of all of this is. It's certainly not helping their roster. They're so short on ready main eventers, it's kind of sad.

#1-norm-fan 06-12-2014 11:58 PM

And that's exactly why. If they had actually put effort into keeping midcarders relevant by giving them shit to do to keep people interested instead of seemingly spending 5 minutes a week saying "Okay, this guy's gonna face this guy and this guy's gonna win because we're pushing him this month. Booking done." then there would be a ton of guys ready to move up the card. Instead they've gotta depend on bringing in guys and instantly trying to make them main eventers because the rest of the roster has been made to look too inconsistent to buy into as a star.

That's the main thing I liked about TNA a few years ago, that even if it was pretty inexplicable a lot of the time, mostly everyone on the show had a character and was doing something.

No one in the mid-card in WWE really gets microphone time, which means most feuds are people just wrestling in continual matches and trading winds and losses. That makes it real hard to develop and get peopled invested when you're coming out and winning and losing on alternating weeks in three minute matches.

All of this, and the fact that they "like the look" of somebody like Ryback, and then want him to instantly go from being fed jobbers to jumping to the top of the card in the span of eight weeks (as opposed to climbing up the card gradually) and wondering why people don't buy him as a main event talent, then just giving up on him.

Its like they get bored with ideas quicker than the fans do. They don't let people get behind anyone anymore. Most of the time, their thought process seems to be if the person isn't somehow over instantly, it isn't worth doing.

Sepholio 06-13-2014 12:55 AM

I figured Rose sat out RAW because he was injured slightly at the same house show as Cena last week.

#1-norm-fan 06-13-2014 03:04 AM

Was looking at a WWE.com article about 6 options for a good third member of The Shield and John Morrison was one of them. He seems to come up a lot on WWE.com.

I like Emma. She has a unique personality/charisma. That's rare in the diva's division. She's not bad in the ring either.

Rollin's should take the dye out of the blonde part of his hair and switch to wearing trunks/tights. Maybe tights. You rarely see tights these days in the Main Event scene.

Like screech said: Good. I don't like Adam Rose either. He has to be the most irritating gimmick on the roster right now, with Bo Dallas coming in a very close second, but with Bo, I think that's the point. If it's true, then I'm much like Vince right now, in that I'm not completely sold on any of the recent characters either.

And speaking of gimmicks/character development and seeing Paige's name there, what's with her? I've read so much about her having this Anti-Diva gimmick on NXT but it's nowhere to be found on the main roster. From what I've seen so far, she has no gimmick. She's nothing. The only thing she has going for her is that she's 21 and from England. Every time she's on TV, we hear Cole saying "The 21 year old from Norwich, England". That's it. There's nothing else to her other than her age and birthplace. She's quite boring and it makes me wonder why she's still Divas Champion when they have other Divas, most with actual characters/gimmicks, doing pretty much nothing, when they could be champion or chasing the title.

It seems like only one Diva can go after the title at a time. More should be chasing the title. In a division that has only one available title, almost every Diva should be chasing it. Not just one out of twelve. If they are in the WWE and they're not interested in getting the championship, then why are they there?

Maybe if Paige had more than just one person go after her title each month, it would make her a little more interesting and give her more to do, rather than having one Diva annoy her for a few weeks, have one match on PPV for the title where she gets her ass handed to her but still manages to retain, then back to square one to repeat it with someone else. Dunn knows what up though. Hopefully Alicia becomes Divas Champion at MITB and continues on with her extremely entertaining gimmick. Also, it would give Paige something to do. The title chase.

It's a shame they've given up on Sin Cara. I say that not for the gimmick, but for the man. What I'm really saying is "It's a shame they've given up on Hunico".

If they have given up on Sin Cara, then why not just end the gimmick and revert Hunico back to his previous gimmick. That was a good gimmick for him and it would also put an end to those awful "mood lights" during Sin Cara matches. Hunico is great, and seeing him hidden under a mask and pretty much being forgotten about just sucks.

Innovator 06-13-2014 09:11 AM

I'm already tired of Alicia Fox's gimmick, she's the equivalent of Sting playing the Joker version of crazy

Cool King 06-13-2014 09:15 AM

Maybe that's why I'm enjoying it, as I never saw Sting's Joker gimmick, so it's all new to me.

Innovator 06-13-2014 09:17 AM

I agree with you about Paige. She had the Anti-Diva gimmick in NXT where she was the exact opposite of all the other women and prioritized wrestling above all else. She comes to the main show and suddenly shes the happy 21 year old kid rookie.

Pretty much felt this exact way since Hunico took over the identity. Hunico is now suffering for Mistico basically being shit.

Still, at least he has a job.
