The original idea when Sting came in was to eventually lead to the Undertaker bout at a Wrestlemania, although WWE management has cooled on long-term plans for the former WCW World champion.

Part of changing how the Divas division will be portrayed apparently includes bringing up new talents and introducing new characters. There's still a lot of talk about former NXT Women's Champion Charlotte making her main roster debut soon but we haven't heard anything about other NXT Divas that might get called up. On a related note, there have been rumors of doing a full heel turn with Emma on the main roster, which has been teased recently on NXT.

However, there was a feeling that they would face big heat from the fans if they moved the Divas match, due to the ongoing "#GiveDivasAChance" social media campaign. One of the reasons they put two matches on the pre-show, besides timing, is so the fans who were watching for 2 hours would have more than one match to keep them occupied. Also, the idea was to free up more time for the main show so they wouldn't be so rushed but they still ended up rushing things.

WWE management felt the show ran far too long and that it wasn't exciting enough. While it was a long night, I disagree on the latter as I felt there was a lot of legitimately wonderful speeches WWE requested that several cut their speeches short, which did happen with Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. WWE pushed hard to have Kevin Nash go into the WWE Hall of Fame as Diesel but Nash was having none of that. Nash wanted to go in under his real name so that whatever additional credibility the WWE HOF brought to his outside endeavors, he could use it. I was also told that Nash didn't want to go in under Diesel since for years the narrative was that he was one of the worst drawing WWF champions and now wasn't going to allow himself to be celebrated under that name for that reason. WWE tried to push Nash to cancel his late night Wrestlemania Shenanigans party but he refused.

I was told that several long-time executives, including Vince McMahon, weren't happy about the talk about how Kevin Nash helped transformed the business with all the guaranteed contracts since the feeling at the time was WCW was out to put WWF out of business and that since McMahon took it so personally at the time, this brought up a lot of old angry feelings on a night where things are supposed to be more celebratory. Shawn Michaels wasn't kidding when he said on stage he was going to end up in trouble as the company wasn't happy with his use of the word "strap" and "wrestler" during his speech. Michaels legitimately tore his prepared speech up and was going off the top of his head when he inducted Nash. The company wasn't thrilled with Madusa's use of expletives and some weren't happy about Eric Bischoff getting put over. The company absolutely loved The Bushwhackers speech, feeling it was the perfect meshing of their "on camera" characters and telling old stories.

It would spin around so I got to thinking, and I asked if he could put a ring on a thing that would spin to make it go around and around, make it go faster and slow it down. A rotating match to pull off in the future, where you start the match and at a certain time it’s going to start to rotate and go faster and faster. If you could pull off spots while the ring is rotating would be awesome in itself. Anything is possible if people are willing to attempt to pull it off and get over the fear of trying. I’m willing to try anything.”

That sounds exactly like the sort of dumb stipulation that TNA would do and reveal as an announcement to CHANGE THE BUSINESS FOREVER.

TNA should sign Teddy Hart and co promote the first ever interspecies hardcore spinning ring with extending platforms on the ring posts that only cats with lasers can active.

My gut is they had to tell him, because if he signed and then they sprung the change on him, while it wouldn’t hurt him since he knew he was losing the title anyway, it’s a trust thing. Lesnar has already shown he can walk out at any time, gets very mad when things don’t go as he’s told they will go, so you can’t play the usual games with talent on him.

I don’t know when Reigns was told that he wasn’t winning, past the point that it appeared nobody in his family knew. His father, Leati Anoa’i (better known as Sika Anoa’i of the Wild Samoans tag team) was so furious at the finish that later that night there was nearly a bad scene. It appears none of the other family members knew either and all were unhappy, some more than others.

Rollins found out that he was winning late in the show. He was also told that as champion, he would have to fly after the show to New York to appear on “The Today Show” (a victory appearance originally scheduled to kick off Reigns title run) and back to San Jose to appear on Raw the next night.

The last 45 seconds of the match and that he was getting the title was said to be told to Rollins right at the start of the Rock & Ronda Rousey angle. It was at that point when Rollins, Reigns, Lesnar, Paul Heyman and producer Michael Seitz (Michael Hayes) went together into a room to go through the “new” finish and work out how they were going to accomplish it. The rest of the match had already been worked on and formulated.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 12:45 AM

I hate his name being "Big E." I've gotten used to Cesaro just being "Cesaro" and Rusev just being "Rusev," but "Big E" just sounds...eh. Big E. Langston was fine.

Lock Jaw 04-03-2015 01:18 AM

Yeah.... was thinking on RAW after "Neville" debuted about how I have grown to like it being just "Rusev" and "Cesaro"....

But feel like "Big E" and "Neville" are just weird sounding....

The only team that can turn Rusev away from the dark side and get him to embrace America?

"Next Level" Adrian Neville. OK, that's stupid. But yeah, Neville just sounds...weird. I think he needs more of a gimmick name. It might suit his current presentation too.

I didn't really see the point in changing Cesaro's name. I liked the Antonio being there. But one thing I do like about it is that it's kind of bad-ass that he's the Cesaro. I didn't like Sheamus for a similar reason that I didn't like the Divas' name when they just have a first one, but then JR said something like "I like that he's the guy who only needs one name..." and it changed my entire view on it. Although I still find it really odd when the girls come in and they are just presented as "Emma" or "Mary." We haven't had that second one yet, but it could come. I'm learning to let such things go.

Rusev is fine on its own, as it's the same sort of deal with Cesaro and Sheamus. He's just Rusev, bitch. But Big E? I'd rather he dropped the "Big E." and just called himself "Langston."

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 10:24 AM

Lol Coach. He was Michael Cole before Michael Cole was Michael Cole. It's amazing how much personality came out of that guy when he was squeezed.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 10:26 AM

I miss Todd Grisham. Of the "geek metrosexual lead announcers" they like, he was by far the best.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 10:30 AM

I'm digging Rich Brennan though. I really like something about him. He comes off like a real fan. Tom Phillips, for whatever reason, doesn't have me on board yet. He and Renee are often funny together, and he does really well on Five Things, but he just doesn't "pop" in his announcer role to me. I'd actually rather see Tom Phillips work color as a heel. Give him an "I know it all" attitude. Or have him manage some guys, develop some sort of presence, and then have him return to commentary when he's got some field work. I dunno.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 10:33 AM

Byron Saxton gets a lot more flack than he deserves, but I'm not entirely sold on him as a commentator either. I think he's got more "presence" than Phillips or Brennan, but he's just not a lead guy, but also isn't really "heavy" enough to be a color guy. He is a tremendous ring announcer though.

He was in a really odd situation, and I think he was trying to sell it as much as possible. It probably would have been better if he had slightly heeled it up and took it as his time to shine. But they should have had Steph send Renee Young out there, since she is just charming enough to make an "Oh...uh...I'm not really prepared for this..." thing work. Then you can have Paul Heyman walk down the ramp a few segments later and pick up a headset next to her to spread some Brock Lesnar propaganda and show the world what real color commentary sounds like. Heyman and Young have great chemistry in interview segments, so maybe it would have carried over into the booth?

Can't stand Rich Brennan because he always pronounces "Charlotte" as "Sure-lit"

MOD POST:

Backyard threads are unlocked, I know they mean a lot to some here, I just needed to show you how dangerous I am and what wasn't shown was the pedo activity in the threads I locked. You all know how intolerable that is and now everyone is safe

I didn't mess with the nudies though.

Leave Tazz Dan alone, if someone is practicing pedo behavior then let me know.

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-03-2015 07:00 PM

Can you just mash them all back together into one thread?

Heisenberg 04-03-2015 07:04 PM

won't that confuse all the different storylines and shit?

Probably, but I'd just merge them anyway. Then moving forward everything will be spot on :y:

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 08:21 PM

Daniel Bryan vs. Shinsuke Nakamura being teased is really fucking cool. No way the WWE does it, as I doubt they would really want to give New Japan World any publicity, but there could be a case made for it. The WWE wants the Network to launch strong in Japan, and having an Intercontinental Champion vs. Intercontinental Champion match would be a great way to get more good will in Japan, where they could sign up quite a few more subscribers, if they find a way to make their product really appeal to that market. I'm not sure if having one Japanese guy in development and putting one Japanese guy into the Hall of Fame achieves that goal.

Plus, Shinsuke Nakamura is really awesome and could actually get over stateside.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 08:21 PM

The WWE wants to talk about altruism being the future of marketing -- how about giving some charity to New Japan and pro-wrestling fans?

Jordan 04-03-2015 08:29 PM

Spot on Noid. It would be legendary.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 08:39 PM

It might also create a hot bed for wrestling content. Maybe I'm stretching a little, but that's what people seem to want when they wish for competition to step up. Not just "more hours of wrestling on television," but a better product that elevates itself. Bryan vs. Nakamura could be like hot-shotting the industry. Not on a major mainstream worldwide level, but in the sense that exposing some Americans to New Japan might make them care more about wrestling, and be more willing to become a consumer of content for it. And by working with New Japan, you can really boost the Network's presence in Japan, which is all the WWE really cares about at this point.

Plus, if Vince (more likely Triple H and Stephanie at this point) are working with New Japan, then it leaves Jeff Jarrett in the dark with them a bit, and Vince probably hates Jarrett more than he hates those Japanese rasslers.

Mr. Nerfect 04-03-2015 08:43 PM

New Japan loves sending its talent to get some international exposure to season them a bit. Once Itami is main roster, having some young star head down to NXT before heading back to New Japan would be a pretty big deal for New Japan, and creates a further buzz around the NXT product. The WWE getting the Bullet Club for just a very short stint, without jeopardizing their entire New Japan careers (say there's interest in doing an AJ Styles match), also becomes a better arrangement for all with some sort of talent exchange program in place. And NXT guys could use another place to work in order to get them experience in front of different crowds and working different styles.

Jordan 04-03-2015 08:43 PM

There is a possibility that it could happen, WWE did do a supershow in Japan in the early 90's with NJPW and AJPW. I doubt that it will. It's a shame WWE is so resistant to doing this type of cross promotion. Their ticket sales in Japan have been pretty sub par in the past decade, this could help boost them and make the trip worthwhile. What is the harm? They don't need to promote it on Raw, just keep it simple.

Jordan 04-03-2015 08:58 PM

Hey guys I found a Roman Reigns theme with lyrics.
