Different move but can look very similar depending on whos doing it, hurricanes always looked very much like the kick was to the back of the head (and in a lot of instances it was), others it's more obvious it's a knee.

Yeah that was a modified enziguri for sure. Mutoh does a knee/shin to the face.

Vince McMahon recently found a new thing to get pissed at with WWE talent although in this case, he's completely right over the issue.

This time it involves him getting increasingly upset over several wrestlers and staff continuing to not follow the company's COVID-19 policies with even one wrestler or staff member being dumb enough to go to a theme park without wearing a mask.

The site notes that there was a particular incident in which either a wrestler or a staff member attended an amusement park without masks several weeks back that angered McMahon, as he had expressed to talent that he wanted them taking more precautions against the virus. McMahon reportedly made an effort to discourage talent from attending Super Bowl parties without masks, and the report notes that there have been staffers who had their responsibilities reduced due to photos of them circulating out in public without masks.

Good luck with that.

Gerard 03-14-2021 06:39 PM

Apparently old Vinnie also banned the leg slap so should be interesting to see how shit this makes superkicks etc look considering 90% of the roster seem to utilize it these days, or moves that need a leg slap to give them any type of audible impact.

The man really is a fucking loon.

I don't understand why IMPACT would "reinstate" the TNA World Heavyweight Championship when the Impact World Championship carries the lineage of the original TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The unification match made no sense and neither did calling Moose a legit world champion for carrying around a fake title he grabbed from Ebay.

I can hear Regal's WCW theme by looking at this pic.

Which is rich, considering how slow the company was to even enact a policy and got pissy when people acknowledged that they caught COVID-19.

"You shouldn't take this seriously WHY THE FUCK AREN'T YOU TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY?!?"

to wrap up the story, glad they did that. so many wrestling stories are left unfinished.

GD 03-15-2021 04:21 AM

But it wasn't even a real title. It was just a prop that Moose carried around.

This right here. Stop being irresponsible while we get ready to have WM before a huge number of people. Not to mention what was mentioned here and how they 100% fucked up by their early actions and reactions.

lol @ the thigh slapping too. Now, if he could only do away with shitty camera work, they might start to be better.

drave 03-15-2021 07:51 AM

Pretty sure Drew slaps his thigh with the Claymore as well, so there's that.

GD 03-15-2021 07:53 AM

Since when did they start doing camera shakes on Smackdown? I thought there was a narrative set by Fox :?:

drave 03-15-2021 07:55 AM

pfffffffft, does Fox run their PPV's too? That shit is errywhere on WWE TV. Feel bad for people with motion sickness who are also WWE fans.

Pop a dramamine or two before you start watching it, but then fall asleep because of the two you popped. Seems like a win tbh.

GD 03-15-2021 08:14 AM

Pretty sure they did away with shakes on Fox for a while

If I remember correctly, its supposed to be inspired or resemble films when the action gets very hectic or frantic and the camera starts moving all over the place to convey it.

Biggest difference is movie producers know how to shoot that type of scene way better than Dunn and they don't do it throughout the entire film whenever any action happens. Same for when it comes to rapid camera cuts that WWE is obsessed with these days.

Current rumor going around is that NXT got hit with another COVID outbreak recently.

This meeting called for Performance Center trainees to be required to attend. The report stated there were several people who didn’t take the proper precautions regarding COVID-19 and it has led to various wrestlers being pulled, and others quarantined.

As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce any changes to the show.

A bunch of utter morons running and working in NXT these days since that's been way too many times an outbreak hit that brand.

They've been trying to be "cinematic" for a long time, and blockbuster movies have been doing too much of that shit. It's still annoying when it's stylistically done for narrative reasons (such as being "found footage" where the movie/show was supposedly shot with a cell phone or hand cam). WWE just does it to "create action" where there already is action and "be cool" when it's just seizure inducing movement for movement's sake. Video games have actually (unfortunately) copied that philosophy as well, and fill cutscenes with blurry, shaky cam because its supposedly stylistic.

I guarantee if most of the highest grossing films from the last 20 years went crazy with the "Scorsese stretch", WWE would be trying to do that for EVERY reaction shot of a person in the ring being "surprised" by a return or upset victory or someone appearing on the Titantron.

Debatable. There are directors/producers in love with it about as much as Dunn. I'm surprised they haven't pulled a JJ Abrams by adding way too many lens flares to the mix and make the shows totally unwatchable. It's not like it's above them, since the whole Thunderdome setting allows them to go back to using the shitty "flying CGI" for entrances that aren't there for live crowds. Now EVERYONE can see how stupid it looks (except themselves, of course).
