You're correct, everything the WWE does is creatively sound and conducive to incredible television. You definitely didn't spend the 5 or 6 years before AEW complaining about everything single thing they did.

GD 01-11-2021 07:29 AM

Dale, why do you put in the effort to respond when you know that he has blocked you :?:

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-11-2021 07:31 AM

Because it's easy reps since people hate Noid.

Evil Vito 01-11-2021 07:45 AM

It’s true.

Evil Vito 01-11-2021 07:45 AM

Noid would be apoplectic if Morrison went to AEW and was booked this way.

Ol Dirty Dastard 01-11-2021 07:51 AM

Noid is the wrestling gatekeeper. He's the only one who gets to say what's good and what isn't, despite his takes being inconsistent.

So, up until a year ago, you were only allowed to hate everything the WWE did. But now, you have to like it, despite their approach not changing at all.

Mustafa Ali dunked on a dude for being a hypocrite, causing the guy to delete his account.

The dude went to high school with my brother, and coached me. I tweeted "that I know who this is makes it funnier." Because people getting owned on social media is always funny to me.

The guy messaged me on Facebook calling me a piece of shit because strangers are harassing his kid.

Obviously don't condone harassment, but he claimed I'm "chiming in with the mob" when I had no idea about his kid. I'd think he would know how the internet works (i.e. pretend Heyman will see everything).

Ah well. Block him.

Jordan 01-11-2021 09:23 AM

I wish we had a WWE thread to talk specifically about WWE like we have AEW/NJPW. Anyone agree? WWE was down voted greatly in the end of the year awards to worst promotion of the year. I think that with the lack of interest in Wrestling in general makes a solid case for a WWE thread. Thoughts?

screech 01-11-2021 09:28 AM

I think at this point a WWE thread might make sense. People are actually watching other promotions as opposed to laughing at TNA or whatever.

Sixx 01-11-2021 09:51 AM

So I just read Goldberg will probably be showing up at RAW tonight. Honestly, are there people who want to see more of him?

Sounds good to me.

GD 01-11-2021 10:02 AM

A majority of WWE PPVs this year over performed in comparison to their weekly offerings. Not to mention quality matchups from NXT and NXT UK.

GD 01-11-2021 10:04 AM

I’d say Smackdown has been relatively enjoyable for most of the year when compared to the godawful programming on RAW.

screech 01-11-2021 10:23 AM

There is an NXT TV thread isn't there? I usually watch a bunch of episodes of that in a row so I don't contribute to it.

I’d probably laugh and stop giving two entire fucks about him, just like I have...everyone that disappears into that vacuum. Who honestly thinks Miro or FTR have potential anymore?

Going to be so funny when people start leaving that company en masse and the idiots on here start changing their opinions.

If it was you dragged on the internet, you would cry. Maybe I am confusing you with Slik or Smeat. All the S posters disappear into one gormless entity to me.

You can do whatever you want. But look at data. Far more people, by many times over, care about the WWE. They just don’t want to talk to mouth-breathers on the internet about it. The “Internet Wrestling Community” gives you a false read on what works and what doesn’t.

-Matt Hardy
-Chris Jericho
-AEW
-Sting rules but Goldberg sucks

There are people who will legit, straight-faced, tell you that AEW has the best tag team division ever. They do not have a tag team as good as Roode & Ziggler or with as much potential as the Street Profits. And most of the general wrestling audience knows this.

Worst wrestling promotion has to be between either AEW or TNA. I haven’t watched Impact in long enough to comment. But there’s a reason those two entities are working together.

XL 01-12-2021 03:14 PM

Let’s take those 2 examples; Roode & Ziggler (AKA The Dirty Dawgs) could be better than every team in the world, future, past, or preset but they are met with an absolute “meh”. That’s not because of some bias against WWE, it’s because Ziggler has been middling about in WWE for 15 years doing the same act.

Street Profits are great (well, Montez Ford is great, Dawkins is there too) but potential means nothing in WWE, as they have proved over and over and over again. You can’t invest in them because you will get burned. And you will get burned.

The bias that exists towards AEW is that as a new entity they have the capacity to deliver on promise (obviously you depart on the grounds of what it is that you want delivered) whereas WWE have spent the last 20 years promising to not deliver.

I watch both with a general malaise to be honest but I think the above is pretty evident.

AEW deliver on shit. It’s made me appreciate the WWE way more, because I can now recognize the things they actually do and why they do them. Listening to smarks should be way low on their list.

WWE DOES listen to smarks though. Constantly. It’s the sole reason Daniel Bryan ever became a thing. They caved to the smarks. But then they back off eventually because it doesn’t work for the mainstream. And then they go back. Rinse and repeat.

I respect a company who can pick a lane more than one who can’t. Even if that lane is full of potholes. Fucking own it.

Think Kurt needs to look into what Beastiality actually is. :wtf:

drave 01-14-2021 12:34 PM

Or he was just calling Booker's wife a dog?

That shit reeks of something word-for-word from VKM. Kurt almost sounds like Vince when he says it.

Well, if Kurt likes to fuck dogs presumably there's easier ways to go about it than fighting a dogs husband to get to the dog.

lmao there's a lot of that during their matches.

BTW, Steve Romero is awesome. Maybe not as a lead announcer on RAW, but he was fun on Velocity.

Evil Vito 01-14-2021 02:14 PM

I remember it was a bit of a bummer not having a B-show for SmackDown anymore. It only ended because ECW needed to be taped when Velocity was getting taped. But then eventually SmackDown and ECW did a "talent exchange" or whatever.

Daniel Bryan has way more appeal than just to smarks. Dude is an all-time great. He’s got the selling, psychology, charm and charisma down. I’d agree that the WWE probably does listen to the worst fans too much though.

Velocity was great. Used to watch it every week. There were some killer matches featuring Paul London on there. I watched him against Frankie Kazarian so many times. He also had an awesome series against Akio. Paul Burchill had a couple of fun squashes on there too.

The best C-show announcer of the era, to me, is/was Scott Stanford (he still works there, but doesn’t do commentary). My favorite will always be when David Hart Smith was working Zack Ryder on Superstars or something. DH Smith was wearing a cowboy hat for no reason. Smith shoulder tackles Ryder and then does this weird dance and Stanford, in a serious announcer voice goes “Tex is shaking his hips. Tex is shaking his hips.”

Fucking amazing.
