I really loved Striker's evil teacher gimmick. Was never gonna get him any higher than midcard at best but it was some fun, classic heelery.

Can probably blame Cole for that since he's the one teaching all of WWE's commentators or at least all the lead commentators which is why they all sound the same these days.


Problem with Striker's style is it can get irritating very quickly if he doesn't mesh with the product or the other person in the booth. That's why his brief time in NJPW ended up being really bad while his time in Lucha Underground ended up being great.

In WWE, he was like the proto-Mauro on RAW but without any of the charm mainly because of Cole & Lawler working against him the whole time he was in RAW's booth.

I remember internet fans turning on Striker when he started to bring up historically incorrect facts on commentary.

I believe he would've been more palatable if he wore trunks while doing commentary.

But do you remember the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry dates "female Jerry" played by Janeane Garafalo. He thinks dating a female version of himself is great at first but ends up dumping her because he finds her annoying.

Striker is unbearable. His Lucha Underground work was atrocious.

I do like that NXT has matches to determine who has the entry advantage in War Games. Everybody knows the heels will win them because the heels have to have the advantage for the story of War Games to make any sense but it's better than just having the heels magically win the coin toss every single time.

NXT got hit with another coronavirus situation since according to Fightful, at least one top star recently tested positive for it.

Almost everything about that Charlotte vs. Rhea feud was probably the closest to main roster booking mentality NXT has reached ever since the start of their USA Network Era.

Not only was Charlotte a huge bust in terms of being a ratings magnet for the brand, it also knee capped the momentum NXT's women's division had at the time and also severely knee capped the momentum and top star rise Rhea had built up since last year's WarGames event.

Not even Keith Lee's Double Champ reign was as bad of a swing and miss as that feud was for Rhea.
