English dub of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) - 7/10 Was an entertaining little film. Nice plot that wasn't afraid to break the mould of PG films a bit. I recognised Patrick Stewart's voice in this instantly and that woman whose name I can't remember who does a bunch of voices on The Simpsons and Futurama (her character had basically the exact same voice as 'Mom' from Futurama), but after looking it up on wiki I never realised how many well known actors are in it, Uma Thurman, Shia LaBeouf, Edward James Olmos, Mark Hamill. I might have to watch it again.

Deadfall

this movie was so so bad; that it's fucking hilarious

Nic Cage what the hell were you thinking

PorkSoda 06-13-2012 06:01 PM

Deadfall.

blake639raw 06-13-2012 06:35 PM

I recently watched The Warriors for the first time. I enjoyed it. Probably a 7/10.

Emperor Smeat 06-13-2012 08:52 PM

24: Season 8.

Pretty good. Have you seen Hayao Miyazaki's other works? Some are pretty fantastic. Honestly like subbed versions the best though. Have watched both versions of many of his films, and the 'original' subtitled versions just seem to make more sense with the dialogue and such. They just seem to flow better for some reason. Some dubs kinda screw things up a little bit.

Vastardikai 06-15-2012 12:26 AM

House (1977, Japan).

Craziest movie I ever saw. I played a drinking game where I took a shot after any scene that made no fucking sense. I quit the game after I threw up. I owe myself 9 shots.

In other words, I'm making this post completely fucking wasted. From what I can recall, it's awesome. It is incredibly awesome, but do NOT make a drinking game out of it. You WILL die. Truth be told, I think Colin Mochrie's son does a better job of reviewing this movie than I could possibly dream of in my current state.

Luke Mochrie, discussing this movie..

PorkSoda 06-15-2012 05:25 PM

The Game - 7/10.

Silent Trigger - 2/10. I was told this movie was a tolerable movie by Lundgren.

Thor - 8/10. Not really what I expected. Great movie except for the fact that Thor has a heart and wants to fall in love. If he cared less for Natalie Portman, which IS hard to do, he'd be a true warrior.

Kalyx triaD 06-15-2012 09:46 PM

Thor falling in love is a mark against the movie?

PorkSoda 06-15-2012 10:57 PM

To me, yeah. It's a movie cliche and proves that he's human. Every movie (obviously there are exceptions) seems to have the main character falling for some girl. Be original.

I did like the closing shot of him looking down for her, though.

Kalyx triaD 06-16-2012 12:37 AM

Well the humanity within him is a point of the character, I think, as well as identifying with that.

RoXer 06-17-2012 01:20 AM

Safe House - 53

It's still a TV show no matter how you watch it.

whiteyford 06-17-2012 05:32 AM

The Sitter - 6/10 some funny stuff but pretty meh.

The Goon - 7.5/10 Actually alot better than i expected, full of semi famous folk i kinda recognize from other movies/tv shows and for once Sean William Scott wasn't just playing Stifler.

The Destroyer 06-17-2012 07:42 AM

Little Miss Sunshine - probably an 8/10, quite enjoyed it.

Gertner 06-17-2012 09:35 AM

Snow White and The Huntsman 6/10

too long and Kristen Stewart is ugly.

Liar, no she's not.

The Children - 5/10

Dodgy British horror film where children go crazy and start killing their parents. Not great.

Corporate CockSnogger 06-17-2012 01:48 PM

Toy Story 3 - 8.5/10 Amazing. The best of the three.

Plan on watching Rum Diary now that it is on Netflix. I am a huge Depp fan and even bigger Hunter Thompson fan. I know the majority on here only post numbers (including myself) but I would love to hear some non-spoiler opinions about THE RUM DIARY before I spend 2 hours on it. Please and thank you sir.

PorkSoda 06-18-2012 06:13 PM

Hobo With A Shotgun only gets a 1. I think you're being a little too generous, there.

Gonzo 06-18-2012 07:35 PM

The Patriot 8/10
The Last of the Mohicans 7/10

I've seen these before but never rated them.

Rum Diary 5/10

I'm not a huge fan of Johnny Depp to begin with, but I just couldn't get into the movie..... there was no real action and no comedy, and the story simply wasn't compelling enough to keep me fully interested.....plus the ending sucked

Triple Naitch 06-18-2012 07:58 PM

Seeing Prometheus tonight. I'll keep you guys posted.

RoXer 06-18-2012 09:06 PM

Im goin tomorrow

Triple Naitch 06-18-2012 09:09 PM

Plans changed. I'm actually going tomorrow now, as well. Sorry to keep you all in suspense.

ClockShot 06-18-2012 09:27 PM

Shooting for Wednesday to go see Prometheus. Then again.....Moonrise Kingdom has arrived at my "art cinema".

Alien - 68
Aliens - 74
Alien 3 - 48
Alien Resurrection - 70

Nicky Fives 06-19-2012 05:13 PM

Saw 4 - 9/10
Saw 5 - 7/10
Saw 6 - 8/10
Saw 7 - 8/10

I was always hesistant to watch any of the series following the first 3 because I thought, like most films with sequels, they would suck balls..... I was pleasantly surprised..... I watched all 7 over the weekend and enjoyed them quite a bit..... the original & IV are the best.....

RoXer 06-19-2012 07:11 PM

Prometheus in Beautiful IMAX 3D - 82

PorkSoda 06-19-2012 08:00 PM

Thought it was hilarious, i'd give it 4 points based on the paedo Santa scene alone.

I enjoyed the one-liners, such as, "she's so hot, I would eat the peanuts out of her shit".....

Prometheus - 4/5

Lucked out on this hot day and had the whole theatre to myself. I enjoyed it, totally did not recognize Guy Pearce underneath all that make-up.

Nicky Fives 06-20-2012 08:19 PM

The Ides Of March (George Clooney, Ryan Gosling) - 5/10

typical political drama, nothing special.....

Schlomey 06-21-2012 09:16 AM

Chronicle - 8/10 - Very unique. Fast paced.
