Gertner was right.

This page has really disappointed itself.
Shown itself up here.

WWE ended up backing off a bit on their new ban and stance against talent using Twitch and other services while under contract.

Previously talent was told by people in the company that they could not market themselves with usage of their real names.

Nothing was made clear of exactly what won't be allowed although the belief was that Cameo wouldn't be allowed but we were told that was still super vague.

Seanny One Ball 09-07-2020 08:38 PM

Was watching Austin Vs Chono from 1992 to see the infamous inverted piledriver of doom and it was even worse than the Owen one if you think about it even for a second.

Austin not only drops Chono on his head, he then leads him back to his feet by the head while Chono is doubled over with numb hands.
He has to physically finish the match and go over with an STF while he's clearly fucked from the neck injury.

Austin has some balls being mad at Owen after that.
Jesus Christ.

Seanny One Ball 09-07-2020 08:43 PM

Ohohohoh...

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x11xuj5

Skip to 35:30 to see Austin talk about injuring Chono.

It is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
How have I never seen that before?!

No accountability at all.

Seanny One Ball 09-07-2020 08:46 PM

So in his mind when he drops a guy on his head and hauls him to his feet while he's clearly crippled it's just a terrible accident, but when Owen did it to him it was unforgivably negligent.

Look at him stumbling around that question like he just broke his neck again.
What a belter, I bet that interviewer had a lovely wank over that one later on.

Emperor Smeat 09-07-2020 09:05 PM

Think Austin's beef with Owen was more due to him being upset Owen never bothered to visit him in the hospital or check up on his well being while he was out and less about the accident itself.

Seanny One Ball 09-07-2020 10:10 PM

No he had beef with all of it.
He gripes about Owen's late kick out all the fucking time.

At least he noticed you were hurt Steve, at least he didn't grab you by the head and pick you back up.

Seanny One Ball 09-07-2020 10:13 PM

Austin literally only apologised to Chono in that video too. Not in s meaningful way like after the match, but flippantly in an interview where he was ambushed by a sniper.
It's like he just cannot accept blame for it.

Its like Chik fil A firing employees for posting tik toks of how they cook food.

More like being upset that the owner of a company trying to horn in on the side hustle shit other people have been doing for years because one or two people recently said something they don't like (assuming this all stems from AJ's stuff).

Imagine working at McDonalds, and selling your own screen printed shirts on the side when you're home. Someone somewhere else in the company also makes shirts that say "fuck Ronald", and [presumably] because of that, you're pretty much being told to stop doing something you do on your own time.

Also, you unintentionally hit on a vital point by calling them "employees". If you believe the company, they're not. They're "independent contractors". They dance around the "employee" line to get out of shit like health care, but they're not exactly open for freelance shit like the title implies. Orton can't show up and challenge Aldis for the NWA title tomorrow... but he's not an employee of WWE. People leaving have no compete clauses for x number of days so that can't use any momentum or heat to help some other company get any sort of noteriety... essentially unable to independently contract in a particular window of leaving the company either by design or "future endeavors"... but they're independent contractors, not employees.

There are a lot of people who have, in the last number of years, started streams where they play video games, play D&D, eat food, assemble furniture, vacation, etc... just a variety of shit outside of their wrestling careers; at times, even outside their personas. Now they all have to suddenly give it up because one guy is either pissy or jealous he isn't getting a cut... or both? Get right the fuck out of town with that.

You take everything literally cause if so go jump in a pool of fire.

I'm done going back and forth with you cause you are whining like a bitch over a sig.

Seanny One Ball 09-08-2020 07:39 AM

PM to discuss

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-08-2020 10:20 AM

Imagine if they asked Austin about him kicking the shit out of Debrah on the reg--or about how he did the same to his next girlfriend.

Volare 09-08-2020 10:38 AM

So these 4 live together...my mind is in a million places now.

Isn't his current wife the only relationship after Debra?

Martha Hart is of the opinion the tombstone botch to Austin was a work, believe it or not.

This is why you have no stars.

If this was a real wrestling federation you two would lose a handicap match to Guru Dave or "Mabel" as he would be known.

Seanny One Ball 09-08-2020 11:10 AM

Who cares what Martha Hart thinks. You can see in the video that Austin lands hard on his head and you can't fake that reaction.
It's the exact same as the Chono clip, both are on their elbows and knees because their hands are numb and useless, they can barely raise their heads.

Funny when you think about it, Hogan says "Nigger", outrage and angst to this day from certain sections including in the current wwe locker-room.

Austin smacks his missus about, forgotten about in a few months.

Apparently saying "Nigger" is the ultimate sin that usurps Wife beating. :wtf:

Bad News Gertner 09-08-2020 12:05 PM

Smacked multiple missus around

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-08-2020 12:07 PM

It's the timing of when the incident comes to light, not the actual incident. If Austin got arrested today for beating his wife, that would be it.

It's fucked up, but it's almost like society doesn't care if it's not newly discovered. If it just came out today that he beat up Debra in 2002, and nobody knew until now, he would be done. Since we have known about it since 2002, it does not matter.

GD 09-08-2020 01:50 PM

There're no excuses for what Austin did. He's shown remorse for his actions and has grown as a person. If it happened in today's climate, he'd certainly be ousted from the wrestling world.

GD 09-08-2020 01:52 PM

I have a faint memory of a Teddy Long interview where he talked about Ric Flair and his attitude towards African Americans and the usage of the n-word.

Seanny One Ball 09-08-2020 01:56 PM

I made a joke about that once.

Hang on.

GD 09-08-2020 01:58 PM

Here's some Steiner Math for you.

They should name a whole division after Teddy Long.
They could call it The Teddy Long Division and if you win the Championship Ric Flair calls you the n-word every day for the rest of your/his life.

I did my random jump to this thread and saw some Conrad Thompson podcast material being posted as part of a debate as opposed to discussions of the new flippy floppy shit. I am in Heaven.

On quick review, I agree with Seanny that Martha Hart’s opinion is shit.

Has anyone brought up the story of Austin asking Owen multiple times before the match “Are you dropping to your knees?” and Owen just kinda blowing it off with a “No” and Austin thinking he was ribbing?

Not until now but I don't really buy that as an excuse. If I was in that position I'd be damned sure to clarify which version he was doing especially since I broke a guys neck with it five years before.

Maybe Owen was friends with Chono

#1-norm-fan 09-08-2020 02:21 PM

THAT’S the conspiracy I’ve been looking to delve into.

Seanny One Ball 09-08-2020 02:24 PM

I don't see anybody denying it.

It must be true.

Interesting.
