While they haven't really capitalized on Nakamura, he also seems like he's been largely coasting through most of his main roster run aside from maybe his program with AJ.

He seems content to cash in the nice paycheck and not break himself. Tough to blame him.

I mean it was "fine." But having seen their match in Japan and comparing it to mania, it was so disappointing. They didn't even get out of 1st gear.

Yeah their Mania match nowhere lived up to what it should've been, and unfortunately I think it was by design since it was only the first of what was going to be a three PPV program (another WWE stupidity, Mania never feels like the endgame for anything anymore).....and also because it wasn't the main.

Of course whatever concerns WWE had about "burning out the crowd" were stupid because that match was like 5 hours into the show. The crowd was already burned. And they were deader than dead for the actual main.

Watching Lesnar and Reigns kick out of countless finishers to a silent and/or booing crowd felt like a bizarre human experiment.

Its "WWE Style". I too, was fucking stoked at the possibility of another epic clash with those two only to be disappointed.


This is why I haven't routinely watched it in a very long time. if something comingup sounds like it can be good, I might check out a match or two. Keep the sub active for a family member.

Other than his NXT time, he's def not done what he is capable of doing.

I really hope Nakamura wants to move back to Japan at the end of his WWE deal. Even with his shoddy run he still has broken historical grounds in WWE (in black and white terms only) and a NJPW reunion would massive for their buisness.

Pretty sure Nakamura already re-signed and he seems content living in Florida and surfing on his off-days.

Turns out the actual report from Tokyo Sports was just more rumors about Sane leaving WWE and the US. Last they heard is if she does leave, she likely will still be working for WWE in some capacity and currently isn't considering working for another promotion in Japan.

To a point. He's older and more broken down so he's not pulling off anything that Shinsuke can do now, but he's a good enough wrestler that he can work around his limitations and still have a good hard hitting match.

I saw the match where Shibata dropped the never title to him and was thinking "how is this old fuck enduring this."

The match he had with Minoru Suzuki during the recent New Japan Cup tournament was soo good.

Just two old badasses beating the living hell out of each other for most of the match.

Besides missing Bobby/Robert Roode in the picture who wouldn't count anyways, NXT hasn't had a homegrown talent win their top belt since Bo Dallas and that was back in 2013.

I know that Neville and Sami Zayn were known "names" (Neville less so) but I'd almost put them under "homegrown talent" because they weren't brought in like "this guy is a big deal! Love him!"

They were brought in, and built up (and not on the backs of their old names)
