Marvel and Fox are currently rumored to be talks for a cross-over film in regards to X-Men and Fantastic Four Fox currently owns for films. Would be similar in idea to Sony letting Spiderman appear in Captain America: Civil War.
Adding some fuel to the rumor being likely true is a recent deal signed by both Marvel and Fox in regards to X-Men characters for tv shows. Quote:
|
Alternate universe thing? Rebooted characters? Two versions of characters ala Quicksilver and Wanda?
How will this work? |
XMen in Agents of Shield? Mutants Vs. InHumans?
|
InHumans (as they were expanded years ago) was Marvel's FU to Fox to begin with so they can use X-Men themes in their own expanded media. At least in the comics a big faceoff is inevitable, but it would be funny if the deal led to these groups meeting.
|
Apparently a Tetris film is currently in production and for some odd reason its going to be a trilogy of films and the creator implying nobody has an idea of what they are doing.
Similar to recent gaming films, also going to be targeting China as their big source of box office revenue. Quote:

The Woods was revealed to be a faux title and it's actually a blair witch sequel.

So my joke observation came to pass.

New trailer looks good so I'm fine with it.

5TH edition Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook has now sold more copies then the 3rd, 3.5 and the 4th edition. That is in units and not dollar value.
|
Oh, that handbook. Is that a "big deal"?
|
It is if your a fan of old school D&D
|
What's the difference
|
With 5th you can sit down and play within 20min 3rd,3.5 and pathfinder can take hours
|
I see.... so it is a "drastic revision", not just an "expansion" or "small changes"
|
Its more like it went back to its roots to the point that it is backwards compatible with Basic, 1st and Second edition adventures (very little work to convert). # and 3.5 can be converted as well but it takes a little more effort. 4th was complete garbage imo and is compatible with nothing
|
Don't care that this is old. Still funny as fuck for anyone who has ever played a tabletop D&D style game

Yeah that sounds about right :D

Writer of Thor and co-writer of Guardians of the Galaxy recently got hired to work on a Detective Pikachu film.
Quote:
|
pikachu... is a detective now?
|
Yeah, they are making a live action Pokemon film..... and instead of just doing a movie about Ash Ketchum trying to be the very best, they decided to make it about Detective Pikachu.
|
There are video games of "Detective Pikachu", but they never even made it to North America....... so not sure why they are going with it for a film......... Seems like a live action adaptation of the anime/original game would be yuge.........

Sucks. Rugrats was my favorite cartoon as a kid. |

Apparently there was a "huge bidding war" over the rights to make a live action Pokemon movie between all the studios too......
|
well, that's fine i guess. i mean, we had a movie based on battleship and there's a tetris movie, so live action pokemon is a brilliant idea in comparison.
|
|
|
and what is this supposed to be?
|
Terrible post, sorry.....
Was a thing on the internet once upon a time where people in real life tried to recreate that awkward Mary Jane pose...... but it seems to have been deleted..... only thing I could find was that crappy collage, which doesn't even have any of the better ones I remember....... |

Sony reportedly offered Daniel Craig $150 million dollars to come back and do 2 more James Bond films.
This is the second offer. First offer was about $100 million back in May. |
Anyone else watch Harley and the Davidsons on Discovery? Was real good and Discovery will probably be replaying it for a bit. Started Monday but didn't know if anyone would be interested so I didn't start a thread but I recommend it to anyone who like motorcycles.

New Godzilla film was revealed to be getting released in the US next month. Only catch is the film is going to be a limited release in theaters.
http://www.avclub.com/article/shin-g...october-242208 According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ben Hur managed to become this year's biggest box office bomb with overall losses expected to be in the $120 million range. Cost around $100 million to make not counting marketing and only brought in $54 million since release. Bombed hard enough that MGM lowered their upcoming fiscal report as a result. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sum.../1100-6443429/ |
Could be very very good or very very bad,
In anycase its on my list <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oDD3I0uOlqY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Yo Turner and Hooch is a fuckin Masterpiece.
It might be Tom Hanks best performance. |
Tom Hanks spends a lot of time in his underwear as well.

Gotta give that to either Terminal or the stranded island movie film thing. I forgot the name but I loved it.

New Punisher series currently in production with the working title of "Crime." Also appears the Punisher will have a bearded look in terms of appearance if the recent teaser image from the set is any indication.
Quote:

Please have Tom Holland cameo in a Punisher episode. They always had an chemistry, though Spidey may break what would be the darkest Netflix heroes tone.

If they know how they know how.

But they don't. If they did they would have some women/minorities in the panel.
|
I don't follow that logic. Do you think I have more right to speak on this issue because I'm black?
|
Quote:
If i am not Black how do i have the right to talk about Black issues? How do I know? A white man talking about black issues is nothing more than #whiteprivilege. We just fired two Black Cashiers for theft, and not even smart theft at that.. stupid shit, response? Fired them because they were black and the person doing the firing was racist. |
The mindset is flawed. Diversity isn't a 'black' or 'female' issue. If anything it's an envy "issue", because, nobody talks about diversity in hispanic or afrocentric media. Nobody says "#BETAwardsSoBlack". But then the BET awards don't have the clout Grammys do.

And it's counter productive; taking the fact that Hollywood, lib as it is, is run majorly by White Males, what could women and ethnics do to fix it besides consultatio-
OOHHHHHH |
wow, hollywood is apparently obsessed with remakes/spin-offs of famous movies with female cast.
just read about ocean's eight starring sandra bullock, cate blanchett, rhiana, etc. |
Peter Capaldi's finished with Doctor Who. The upcoming season and the Christmas special at the end of the year will wrap up his run.

According to Variety, Ben Affleck recently dropped out as the director for the new Batman film. Official reason given was Affleck wanting to be more focused on the acting side for the film but unofficial reason seems to be wanting to reduce his workload considering he's also working on a new Justice League film.
|
Is he still writing it? Also directing and starring in that movie would have been crazy.
|
The initial script for it had been done for a while. I'd assume he finally got exhausted from all the work that was being put into the 3 DC films he signed up for.
If the new Batman film ends up being released next year, that would be 3 films done within a 4-5 year span for him. |
he dropped out of writing as well. they got some new guy, read about this today, don't remember the name.
affleck is only gonna produce and star. |
That's a more manageable workload!
He won't want to be considered solely responsible for all the flack that hits the next one after the last one took a pasting. Smart move. I heard Joel Schumacher was free... |
Apparently South Park is going to drop the Mr Garrison/Trump stuff from next season's story because the creators felt their satire plans couldn't top the stuff Trump was doing in real life.
Was making it hard for them to come up with something interesting to ridicule Trump since his actions so far have been "way funnier than anything we could come up with" for the wrong reasons. Also because the Trump stuff from last season was never planned to go beyond a few episodes before his surprise election win which made them to drop a lot of their original plans for the overall storyline. Quote:
|
I'd like to know how they're gonna work that?
Garrison gets impeached? Finally snaps and resigns from office? Whacked? |
Anyone looking forward to the reinvention of Scarface?
Diego Luna signed on to star in the lead role and Antoine Fuqua dropped out of directing it. Sounds like they are making a Mexican Scarface, could be good. There were 50 odd years between the original and remake and it must be over 30 since that so hopefully it's taken on by the right director because it could easily underwhelm. Pacino's Scarface is no masterpiece but it is iconic and great fun. |
That 80s spark is essential to me but I think there's room for darker stuff given all the crime drama that rose tv since the movie.
|
The soundtrack will surely pale in comparison to the sheer eighties-ness of the Pacino film.
At least Diego Luna won't have to make a ridiculous attempt at the Cuban accent this time mang. |
Part of the charm tbh
|
F. Murray Abraham gets no credit for this movie. Sometimes I forget he's even in it.

Warner Bros currently rumored to be in talks with the director of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Matthew Vaughn, to be the director for Superman: Man of Steel 2.
Vaughn teased years ago about being interested in working on a Superman movie and wouldn't go in a Dark Knight series or Man of Steel route in being serious for tone if he had his way. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sup.../1100-6448679/ |
He almost certainly won't have his way.

A new film in the Matrix series is reportedly in the works according to The Hollywood Reporter. Was originally reported to be a reboot of the series but instead will just be an expansion of the story from the previous films.
Film itself is in the early script stage with the co-writer of X-Men: The Last Stand and Avengers Assemble, Zak Penn, in talks to work on the project. Quote:

Just read that they are making a live action "Daphne and Velma" movie. It will be a prequel to their adventures with The Scooby Gang.

Is it gonna be porn? It's gonna be porn. Porn.

Well I assumed so.

Cant see what else it would be

Scooby Doo without the pothead and his imaginary dog.
That's a bad bet. |
Mark Millar doesn't like CG villains in comic movies. Gave no solution to how one would depict Thanos or Doomsday on film, but boy is he cultured and oldschool, eh.

Great Scott!
Back to the Future marathon. |
Another G.I.Joe movie coming in 2020.
Third times the charm? Probably not. |
Assuming it's a reboot, they should reboot Transformers after Bumblebee and do a shared universe between the two and add MASK. No Bay.

They're also doing a Micronauts movie.

Rewatching The Terminator movies.
