The actual news being a new Wiimote with built in Motion+. lol

Might go ahead and buy this if I can afford it. If I can't, it's no big deal as I bought Mario 1, 2 (Japanese 2 and our 2) & 3 on the VC. As well as SMW. |

Boss of Epic Games believes the studio can't make any games on the upcoming Nintendo 3DS since he believes the Unreal Engine won't work on it. His claim is the 3DS is below the minimum specs for the Engine even though Epic in the past has modified the engine to work on consoles and the iPhone.
This isn't the 1st time he refused to commit any development to a Nintendo system since he said Epic wouldn't make any games for the Wii since he didn't feel it was worth the time. Before the Xbox 360, the studio refused working on handheld and console games since they don't believe in the idea of a water-downed engine. Other companies like Capcom, Rockstar, Treyarch, and a few others have been able to modify game engines to work on almost every handheld/console/phone possible when before it was thought of as "impossible" or a waste of time. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image.../3dsfinal1.jpg http://kotaku.com/5657849/epic-boss-...-unreal-engine |

Everyone is assuming Epic doesn't want to bother or knows it would be competing against Nintendo games. It is a bit odd though of the boss saying the specs and engine can't be done but at the same time they are working on the iPhone which needs a customized "watered-down" version of the engine.
To be fair, the iPhone does have a stronger processor than the 3DS but it shares the power and CPU with other applications whereas the 3DS isn't sharing processor power with other non-gaming applications. |
No loss there, 'Dude Huge'.

Got to love that there's severe slowdown in a promo set to push the game.
|
While I'm certain this game will bomb as hard as the Thor game I can let slide slowdown in an early trailer. They have bigger problems than that.

God, I wish Marvel would pull the license from Sega. Give it to Sierra.

Hasbro Family Game Night 3 is coming Oct. 26th and will have The Game of Life, Twister, some Yahtzee Card game, and
CLUE! WOOOO Clue |
Cluedo (it's "proper" name) is awesome. I don't like the way it's been change to be more "modern" though. The actual board game has changed the setting and characters.
Instead of being a party at an old Mansion, it's some kind of Hollywood mansion. Instead of Colonel Mustard, Rev. Green, Prof. Plum, They are actors and dircetors and super models now. I probably wonmt by any of the Hasbro videogames though. If I want to play a board game, I prefer to play the actual board game. |

By Silicon Knights for Activision. Yeah, the Too Human guys. But also, the Eternal Darkness guys. Let's see which version of themselves they're gonna present. |
I saw that video. It's enough to get people excited, but not enough for anything useful.

Giant Bomb is really the only gaming website I check regularly anymore. I just can't take the ridiculous amount of crap posted by all the other sites. The only knock I'd give them is that they rarely review handheld releases.
Still, their community is worthwhile, and their podcast is a highlight of my week. And having website quests is the kind of stupid and ridiculous thing I would fall for. |

Get the feeling that this X-Men title is a "use it or lose it" game, just like Spider-Man Friend or Foe.
|
It didn't take long but now Kinect joins the Wiimote and PS Move as things getting unnecessary add-ons.
Atomic Accessories selling an inflatable rubber boat as an accessory to Kinect Adventures mostly because one of the mini-games involves rafting down a river. Weird kid jumping for no reason in mid-air mimicking playing a guitar not included in the package. :shifty: http://www.gamefocus.ca/UserFiles/Im...boat-530px.jpg http://www.gamefocus.ca/news/11291 |
yeah i saw that earlier. now i've made some def unnecessary purchases before, but that's just plain retarded

The fact that the new Disney owned Marvel is whoring the license out to anyone that will pay is actually working. Since there's so many Mavel games in competition with each other, I think the average quality is going up.
Sure, some are remakes, but it could work for everyone. |

Microsoft to debut Windows 7 mobile on Samsung phones on November 8 with other phones added later in the holiday period of 2010.
Initial cost for the Samsung version is $199 and will have integrated support of Zune, Windows Office Mobile, Xbox Live, Windows Live, and a few other features. E.A. announces Sims 3 will join the launch release along with Crackdown, Guitar Hero 5, and a few other games. http://kotaku.com/5660905/first-wind...op-in-november http://kotaku.com/5661137/make-way-d...yline=true&s=i |
Lovefilm.com streaming is coming to the PS3 before the end of the year. It's basically the UK's version of Netflix, except it has a horrible streaming selection, especially when it comes to TV (only good thing on there was Peep Show S1)

Lol Negcon.

SNES and NES pads have some great lineage based on that chart with the SNES being a stronger pad based on companies (ex. Sony) admitting to using it as the basis for design.

Outrun Online Arcade has been removed from PSN and will be removed from XBLA in Dec 2011. Something to do with the Ferrari license so get it while you can.

Looks like the Sonic Cycle might strike again after all with Sonic Colors (Wii and DS only).
Sonic Team admits they changed parts of how Sonic's traditonal play style to now more of a mix of Mario and Sonic style to please Nintendo gamers and get new people to support Sonic. Quote:
This marks the 1st potential bad news for the game and it didn't have to come from videos or screens since those made the game appear to be a return to classic Sonic. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...0/sonic_01.jpg http://kotaku.com/5661688/sonics-des...-nintendo-fans |
Seriously, a Sonic game that plays like Mario > Any Sonic game since and including Heros.
Since they couldn't even get 2D platforming right, may as well rip off the king. |

IGN named Mass Effect 2 the best 360 game to date.
|
I guess that's pretty sweet, considering I'm just getting into my final complete playthrough in ME1. All that's left after that is a couple of quick partial run throughs as an adept and Engineer to grab a couple of missed achievements, then it's on to ME2. Making sure I do everything so I get all the carry over goodness.

IGN are clowns.

And under a month away from release, GT5 is delayed again :o

Never gonna come out, probably. They'll go from Prologue straight to 6.

GT5 will be the new Duke Nukem Forever.

GT5 nah, it'll actually be good when it finally comes out.
|
I would laugh if they tinkered with it so much, it handled like shit.
Disapointed, but I'd still laugh. |
I want them to keep delaying and then when they finally release it, it's an 8-bit game.

Amazon.com accidentally revealed the contents of the Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition before pulling it down later in the day.
EA hasn't officially revealed the pricing but based on the amount of extras in the edition, this should be around the $80-$99 range for pricing. Quote:

Losing experience is more frustrating, I think. I mean, clearly you weren't good enough to beat whoever just killed you, but then you get up right then and there weaker than you were before you died with that guy still there with his weapon drawn.
But complaining that dying is to frustrating is pretty lulzy. |

Also this only covers software publishers and not all industries that have used sales. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...stop-store.jpg http://kotaku.com/5663625/new-court-...-game-business --------------------------------------------------------- This news comes around the same time Valve is considering introducing a digital trade-in program to help customers sell old digital PC games and PSN removing a racing game due to loosing licensing rights. Doubt it will ever happen.

Trying not to overplay Reach, i've decided to give Mass Effect another go, I completed it the first time and didn't take much in, i'm only an hour through now and already I understand the games mechanics better.
Such a good game... |

The developer behind Game Room for the Xbox 360, Krome Studios, rumored to have shut down for good after trimming staff and workers at other Australian studios they owned during the year.
Reasons for the closure include horrible game sales after the initial debut and ad push by Microsoft with additional game packs doing less than 500 sales each. Microsoft also basically stopped supporting the thing and a catalog of arcade games mostly from the Atari Era or already available in game complications. Pricing and lack of other developers supporting the game application also considered a big reason. No word from Microsoft if they will hand the game application to another studio to continue or if Microsoft will take over besides just creating game packs for sale. http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...x_gameroom.jpg http://kotaku.com/5664596/xbox-360-g...opers-to-close |

The disc-free Netflix application for PlayStation 3 will be available in the States next Monday, October 18. Sony has said the PS3 system will be the "first consumer electronics device" to support 5.1-channel surround sound for Netflix's streaming library of movies and films. Some media will also be viewable in 1080p and "an increasing number" will feature subtitles or alternative audio tracks. The app also features a fancy search option that allows users to update their regular queue.
