About halfway through and it's hands down the most interesting wrestling book I've ever read.

It's a good doc series but I can't 'feel bad' for Taker/Michelle, it's all his own choice.

Feel the same.

Had the series been just the first episode, it would have been among the best documentaries ever made by WWE. Had the perfect storybook ending for Taker's career and more people would have remembered the defining moment of him leaving with his hat and gear in the ring than the quality of the match itself.

The latter episodes, while good, makes it hard to feel sorry for Taker's dilemma since he's had several chances to redeem himself and go out on his own terms but stubbornly keeps learning the wrong lessons. He's like the Brett Farve of wrestling in that regards.

It is what it is though. Yes he should have retired much earlier, but the story is what it is. I guess this all leads to one final match with AJ.

<s>Mustafa</s> Ali was been moved to Raw. He was heavily tipped to be the hacker on SmackDown. Guess they scrapped that.

Would have to be next year though since he sort of already gave it away that the documentary doesn't end with him saying his match at Mania 36 was his last.

He still wants to wrestle again at Mania but won't do so next year if no crowds are around. All depends on what happens with Round 2 of the coronavirus.

Vastardikai 06-18-2020 06:44 PM

So, Corny posted an audio clip of a thing I saw a few years ago, on the Freedom Fighters, Steve and Jim, and Regional Legend Phil Hickerson. Mainly talking up Phil Hickerson, because the guy had some fire to him. He had one of the top 50 lines I have ever heard. And Phil was strong as an Ox.

I wonder what ever happened to ol' Steve and Jim...

I'd put money down on Charlotte winning via DQ.

She already has a pin and countout win over Asuka with the only thing missing is a DQ win to complete the trifecta of lame finishes from their matches.

Savio 06-19-2020 12:14 PM

We should prob merge these related posts with the "British wrestlers #MeToo" thread and change the name or something.

Triple A 06-19-2020 12:27 PM

Yeah I will do that...

Mike Chioda was on Talk is Jericho this week .

Really interesting interview. Check it out.

Mr. Nerfect 06-20-2020 10:51 AM

Really interested to hear that. Has he quit smoking? Not judging either way.

Bad News Gertner 06-20-2020 11:20 AM

Honestly, I find most wrestling (especially WWE) docs to be the drizzling shits. Even Taker's I was bored within a few minutes.

If you think about it, none of the "revelations" are surprising.

Best one I've seen by far is Beyond the Mat because it wasn't completely sanitized. Though, that's obviously not WWE produced, which is why they hated it, cuz it at least was somewhat honest.

The guy on the trampoline doing the smallest weights I've ever seen was a reel highlight

According to the Observer, seems a potential partnership between MLW and NJPW might be in the works. Basis for the rumor involves the tapings NJPW held in secret in California last week and had MLW's Tom Lawlor showing up to wrestle a couple of matches against NJPW talent.

Assuming its true, that could clear the road for a potential NJPW and AEW partnership in the future since NJPW might be lessening their rules against having rival partners. Both MLW and AEW share the same partnership with AAA while NJPW is still partnered with CMLL in Mexico.

Jordan 06-20-2020 07:34 PM

Oh man we need a Heyman/Conrad show now.

Emperor Smeat 06-20-2020 07:38 PM

Seems the final episode of Undertaker: The Last Ride series has something major in it since WWE didn't bother to send out any advance screenings to outlets unlike with previous episodes.

I like how he sees Terry Funk and immediately manipulates the poor broken old bastard.
I can just imagine how many times that must have happened to old Terry before a show. Constantly dragging a gaggle of emaciated old wrestlers ready to step in on a minutes notice.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-21-2020 01:44 AM

My god i love that Dennis Stamp nation video
