Only a WCW/JCP replay would be a worse shot than the original LOL.

A video where Bret Hart is actually laughing (something i don't think I've ever seen before), instead of being a miserable old prick which seems to constitute 99.9% of vids he's in.

A few thoughts.

1. Chris Champion looks like he'd fit right in with the AEW crowd.
2. I get this feeling that, after this match, Kevin told Rick to do that nasty looking clothesline more often. And the Steiner-line was born.

Lol Rick was probably concussed from that fucking kick Champion gave him. Not the first time Champion has done that.

Probably. But that was NOT a bump he took off the clothesline.

Kind of surprised that Haku is not yet in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Michael Jackson, Fred Astaire, Usher, all of them pale in comparison of the smooth moves of Haku.

He's in the room with me, SEND HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Droford 06-13-2020 09:21 PM

I keep reading Lashley going to win the title because they want to do Lesnar vs Lashley.

Brock gonna end another Black wrestlers first championship reign lol

Plus it makes no sense unless Lesnar is suddenly a face, and face Brock is dumb

Not even Fandango and Alex Wright can stand toe-to-toe with Meng's mastery of the art of the dance.

Jimmy Carter wanted Mr. Wrestling 2 to make appearances with him, but the Secret Service wanted him to take his mask off, and he wouldn't.

Also, I chased the picture down because of a reference to it in a comment in a Corny video.

Apparently some new details regarding the plane incident from WWE's Crown Jewel event last year got revealed from a revised lawsuit currently against the company.

Mostly reveals who was the origin of the rumor of this being caused by a money issue and the plane's staff hinting this incident wasn't caused by them.

Macho Man vs. Steamboat, Bret vs. Austin, and Punk vs. Cena as my choices.

I'd almost agree with Smeat entirely, *but* instead of Punk vs. Cena, I'd scratch the Cole/Gargano match and vote Zayn vs. Nakamura in its stead. Its one of those that are insanely re-watchable and stands the test of time.

Charlotte's been averaging almost 1 title match every month from the women's side while Rollins has been averaging at least one per month on the men's side.

Lock Jaw 06-15-2020 07:40 PM

Not title shots, but title matches... which would include when they were champ defending the belts

Emperor Smeat 06-15-2020 07:53 PM

My bad, fixed the mistake. Not sure why I kept thinking it was just title shots and not also them defending their belts. Probably because of how many reigns Charlotte has had where she barely defended them successfully.

Meanwhile, seems WWE dropped their plans for the Forgotten Sons since they got pulled again from SD tapings.

The team of Jaxson Ryker, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake were primed for a push within the WWE Tag Team division, before a pro-Donald Trump tweet landed him in hot water with the locker room. Most of the WWE wrestlers that we've spoken to say that he was well liked ahead of that and very respectful. They also note that Blake and Cutler distanced their stances from his following the tweet, and even came in for a meeting with Mark Carrano, as well as other wrestlers.

However, the vignettes have stopped for the trio. They weren't on the last couple of episodes of Smackdown, and were not figured into plans for the tapings on Monday and Tuesday. The team was originally set to enter a program with New Day, which seems off the table considering Big E and Kofi lost to Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura. They could always be called in to film vignettes after the fact, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Based on what we've heard, there's no heat on Wesley Blake or Steve Cutler, but they are catching the backlash from Ryker's tweet. It's worth noting that Ryker hasn't wrestled since the call-up.

Most we've talked to on the roster feel bad that Blake and Cutler are being lumped in with Ryker after the time they put in NXT to get called up.

NXT ref Drake Wuertz (former indie wrestler Drake Younger) is very lucky he didn't catch similar backlash since he also had a very ill timed and tone deaf tweet recently in support of Ryker's controversial tweet.

Anyone that can logically relate Randy Marsh to The Undertaker is to be listened to carefully.

While the focus of that post is a very valid, the writer's validity gets called into question when it refers to Michelle McCool as both "legendary performer" and "architect of the Women's Revolution" with no way to discern if this is sarcastic hyperbole or a thing that the OP wholeheartedly believes.

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2020 03:26 AM

It sucks for Blake and Cutler. I hope they find something else for them to do.

I think the sarcasm is pretty clear.

XL 06-16-2020 04:36 AM

But then I think the OP has misunderstood the documentary. It’s not about how he feels obliged to come back for the fans (although he might tell himself that). It’s about how he’s stuck in this cycle, that he knows he needs to break but, like many before him, he can’t let go.

He goes from “I can’t do this like I used to/disappointed in the match” to “I must redeem myself” to “that was pretty good/I feel good”, then has another stinker (tag match vs. DX, match vs. Goldberg), and the cycle starts again.

Honestly, it’s a pretty sad thing to watch as a fan, but I think McCool comes off pretty well in the doc; she knows she can’t tell him not to, and that he has to reach his own conclusion. She let the guy leave their family weekend at Mania to fly back from New York to Texas to get his gear to do a 5 minute throwaway segment on Raw the night after.

Notorious for having God awful crowds. The Nassau Mausoleum

Evil Vito 06-16-2020 03:31 PM

I wouldn’t want to sit in Nassau Coliseum for a wrestling show either. The upper deck seats were ungodly cramped and uncomfortable. Sitting there for three 20-minute periods was hard enough, never mind a 3 hour show.

Mr. Nerfect 06-16-2020 04:35 PM

WWE does have some shitty belts these days. I don’t mind the Raw Women’s. But they could all do with a re-design.

I don't. Mainly because we live in a world where the Bella Twins are going into the HoF and people really believe HHH is one of the greatest of all time in hindsight when his career either setting others up for their moment or a lot of "get off my TV" heat when he was the focus. Some people might actually believe this shit.

At this point, Taker isn't much different than Terry Funk. Although I don't mean that insultingly, because that's good company... that isn't exactly a compliment, either.

XL 06-17-2020 05:03 AM

Yep. Definitely in the Funk/Flair territory. Though to be fair, unlike either of those guys, Taker has never actually said he’s retired.
