Fucking Christ.

Fignuts 05-23-2020 03:42 AM

Fucking god damn it.

She's one of my favorites in Stardom. Been following her since her start in Wrestle-1 because she had so much potential.

Between this and Arisa abrubtly retiring, I dunno if I can keep watching Stardom when it starts back up.

One wonders if this would have happened if this COVID shit wasn't around. She would have been around friends and family a lot more if she was wrestling.

Fignuts 05-23-2020 03:47 AM

From one of the guys on a discord I post at who reads Japanese

Quote:

So i wondered into the terracehouse fansites because of Hana's situation. I can report that wrestling fans are no where near as dysfunctional as that group. Literally read people saying "if we told her to die, its her fault for not being strong enough to deal with it". Thats enough internet for me today.

Fignuts 05-23-2020 04:01 AM

Japan's fucked up Idol culture surely didn't help.

Apparently Mayu Iwatani has similar mental issues and has cut herself in the past.

Fuck's sake.

All depends on how bad her mental state was by that point. Even with no coronavorus around and having a strong support system, no guarantee this wouldn't have eventually happened.

If she was at the point of no return, nothing is going to change that beyond her own willpower.

Only time I'll waste time with a wrestling podcast.

Evil Vito 05-23-2020 09:34 AM

Horrific and tragic.

Predictably, many of the scumbags tweeting at Hana to kill herself have gone back and deleted their tweets.

Evil Vito 05-23-2020 09:43 AM

Aside from the suicide, it does seem that there’s a recent trend of the Japanese women retiring very young. Arisa was only 24, Hazuki 22, Kagetsu 26. I know they all start training very young which unfortunately contributes to the injuries piling up very early on.

Meanwhile you’ve got Sumie Sakai still wrestling in the states at nearly 50.

Black Widow 05-23-2020 09:45 AM

I mean sucks she killed herself but if i killed myself everytime i was called a slut, dyke, ugly or worthless i would have died a thousand deaths.

In short people need to stop giving words so much power especially when it's coming from a bunch Twitter nobodies.

Savio 05-23-2020 11:35 AM

Cornette is probably jealous he couldn't cyberbully a woman to death.

Fignuts 05-23-2020 02:02 PM

A number of news sites including forbes are reporting wrestling fans drove her to this which is bullshit. It was the Terrace House fanbase which were the main contributors. She's pretty well loved in the wrestling fan community.

There once was a cunt. For years the cunt would shiver and emit some loose noises. The villagers were really impressed and respected the cunt, and even put some velvet rope around it in the town square so to give it time to do what it was trying to do. Eventually the cunt's sputtering formed a noise recognizable...words! The cunt spoke words! The town people gathered around to listen to it speak. Afterwards, they realized the real trick was getting the cunt to shut the fuck up.

Shut the fuck up, cunt.

Her mental state drove her to this. It's not really a case of blaming others or denying blame. All fans should look at themselves and how they carry themselves, but she was obviously not well.

drave 05-23-2020 05:17 PM

Do you believe "her mental state that drove her to this" would have even existed if said fans would never have said anything? Highly doubtful.

Surely you cannot be that dense.....

Emperor Smeat 05-23-2020 05:25 PM

Apparently Hana might have been showing suicidal signs as early as around 3 weeks ago based on a cooking video Stardom posted on their Youtube channel where someone pointed out scars can be seen on her wrist at one point.

What the fuck do you know about her mental health and history? Was she depressed growing up? What was her family life like? What were her finances? How was her love life? Were her employers fair?

She was a performer. It takes a certain kind of person to do that, and sometimes they put pressure on themselves or are dealing with some sort of depression from the start.

drave 05-23-2020 07:30 PM

Please ask yourself all the same questions and answer them please.

Fignuts 05-23-2020 08:41 PM

People don’t kill themselves because they want to die. They kill themselves when the pain caused by their mental illness outweighs their ability to cope with said pain. It’s a war of attrition that takes place over a long period of time. So it’s something she probably has been dealing with for a while now.

That said, I don’t think the role that people on social media played in her death should be downplayed. Especially considering she directly mentions it in her final farewell tweet.

It’s one thing to fight severe depression. I couldn’t even imagine trying to fight it while hundreds of people are sending you death threats and telling you to kill yourself on a daily basis.

Damian Rey 2.0 05-23-2020 10:29 PM

The lack of understanding and empathy for someone suffering from severe mental illness taking their life is concerning.

I am still laughing at this brutal annihilation.

This is the best post I have ever seen in the wrestling forum.

In an industry founded on the bodies of lost souls, you would be more surprised if someone got over it...

Emperor Smeat 05-24-2020 12:00 AM

Based on early indications, Hana ended up killing herself via hydrogen sulfide.

Also her mother was the first to find her lying dead on the floor.

Kairi Sane ended up being the first notable person to notice the disturbing tweet Hana had sent due to the timezones and contacted people from Stardom to rush to her aid.

drave 05-24-2020 10:16 AM

Kairi was also blaming herself for not noticing sooner. :(

Always hurts more than the person lost. Hope everyone is able to cope and move forward.

Bad News Gertner 05-24-2020 11:24 AM

I can't imagine finding your kid dead. A buddy of mine overdosed on Fentanyl and his mom found him dead in his apartment. Just the worst.

^^^

I've been saying the same thing. Whatever number RAW or SD eventually settles at, add about 200-300k to that when live crowds are back and that's the new normal. (My prediction for RAW is 1.5 and SD 1.8 during during 'rona)

AEW and NXT might add 100k each is my guess.

Emperor Smeat 05-25-2020 12:55 AM

Even though AEW and NXT are suffering with the decline in DVR viewers, feel they still have a good chance to get back to pre-coronavirus levels when things return to normal after a while. Mainly due to the gap needing to be closed is a lot smaller than RAW and SD and both shows are still in the tv audience building stage.

All depends on how much longer these crowd-less shows last and people feeling comfortable enough to start regularly showing up in large enough numbers to make a real difference without also risking everything going right back to square one with the virus.

Bad News Gertner 05-25-2020 09:18 AM

So it looks like Hana's cause of death was Hydrogen Sulfide which I found strange, but apparently it is/was a popular method of suicide in Japan

Apparently WWE is going to start having wrestlers be the crowds for their empty arena shows starting with tonight's episode of RAW based on an internal memo that got leaked.

Unlike AEW, seems its only going to be Performance Center talent used for crowds and they won't be shown on camera.

Damian Rey 2.0 05-25-2020 06:11 PM

Should still help the vibe of the show
