I remember somebody saying if Peter wasn't Spider-Man he'd be a supervillain of some sort all the same.

I read up about Silk. She has a Tarantula (DC) Mary Sue vibe about her in the way she trounced Peter hard enough that I think the writer had something to say. But overall she's kinda cool.

dronepool 10-12-2014 05:14 PM

It was a cool read, wish he had more than a page or two but still an interesting twist. Silk is cool. I like how they connected her to Ezekiel and whole totem thing. I'm I love all the progress in Slotts Spider-Man and I'm loving that he's doing Spider-Verse.

The last issue was fun.

Kalyx triaD 10-12-2014 05:40 PM

That looks like a fun take.

Lock Jaw 10-13-2014 10:16 PM

Robert Downey Jr. apparently confirmed to have joined the cast of Captain America 3. Looking more and more like some sort of Civil War will kick off.

Kalyx triaD 10-14-2014 01:05 AM

Will you look at that. Who'd a thought.

And we might as well consider that Iron Man 4, he's not doing an extra.

Lock Jaw 10-14-2014 01:13 AM

I hope that RDJ doesn't "take over" Cap's own movie. Winter Soldier was sweet because of the espionage/spy/conspiracy feel to it.... RDJ doesn't really "fit in" with that tone.

Kalyx triaD 10-14-2014 01:21 AM

Civil War is inherently political. Iron Man's own series dealt with those themes in its own way. I'd say he'll be perfectly fine.

Cap 3 itself may be the catalyst to Civil War, and the event will play out over several movies (into Avengers 4). I imagine Agents of Shield and Daredevil will work off it as well.

Shadow 10-14-2014 11:40 AM

Hell why not have Ghost Rider get dragged back to earth with Civil War as well as Dr. Strange and the Defenders? Possibilities are endless.

Kalyx triaD 10-14-2014 04:12 PM

No Nic Cage no go.

Sixx 10-15-2014 11:06 AM

So, Wolverine is dead.

It was a good story, though I'm not sure about the ending.

Also, wonder how long he'll stay dead.

Shadow 10-15-2014 11:23 AM

When's the next big universe shaking cross over event? Next month? Back by then.

It's called Axis and it already started.

Second issue of the core series came out today. It's also in Captain America, Magneto, Uncanny Avengers and Loki: Agent of Asgard.

loopydate 10-15-2014 12:21 PM

He'll stay dead until Disney gets the film rights to the mutants.

Fignuts 10-15-2014 07:25 PM

When he murdered his own son, it kind of ruined the character for me.

Sixx 10-15-2014 07:36 PM

I was shocked he didn't do it way earlier.

Still, Daken is fine now.

Also:

SPOILER: show
Remember the time he actually killed like 5 of his children? Some group obsessed with Wolverine made him fight them, then everyone commited suicide except for one boy who told Wolverine those were all his kids. Was a weird story.

Fignuts 10-15-2014 07:58 PM

Yeah, didn't read that one.

I dunno, it's just that as many bad things as Wolverine has done, he's at least always had a code that's kept him somewhat honorable. He was on the precipice, but he hadn't crossed the line so much that he couldn't still be considered a hero. Killing Daken ruined that at least for me. Daken wasn't even pure evil. He was a bad person for sure, but he wasn't so far gone that he couldn't eventually redeem himself.

And yeah, I know that future Wolverine told him Daken would kill all the students if he let him live but that's stupid too. How many glimpses have we gotten of a future where Genesis becomes Apocalypse and kills everyone? That kind of thing happens in comics all the time. "Oh if you don't kill this dude a horrible future will take place" But they always find a different way to avoid that future because that's what keeps them heroes. Even if they're not the most virtuous of heroes like X-force.

Also, the fact that Daken is alive again doesn't make the fact that Logan killed him any easier to swallow for me.

Sixx 10-19-2014 09:35 AM

So who do you think is the female Thor?

My bet is on either Frigga or Angela.

SPOILER: show
The first issue would suggest Frigga as more likely, but who the fuck knows.

Reavant 10-19-2014 06:15 PM

Or valkerie

Shadow 10-20-2014 12:42 AM

Or an unknown woman who is worthy of the power of Thor.

Reavant 10-21-2014 09:54 AM

well she has to be asgaurdian or have powers because she went to the moon to pick up the hammer

Nowhere Man 10-21-2014 11:03 AM

Well, I mean, she could be a mutant or an Inhuman or something. Doesn't necessarily mean she's an Asgardian.

Reavant 10-21-2014 12:23 PM

yes.... having powers encompasses those groups

Fignuts 10-22-2014 10:43 AM

Carol Danvers?

ClockShot 10-27-2014 04:49 PM

Benedict Cumberbatch is YOUR go-to guy for all things supernatural and sorcery. Doctor Steven Strange.

Read some time ago that he said there's no way this is happenning, cause of scheduling conflicts.

Jura 10-27-2014 05:06 PM

I read that it's just a rumor right now. I still prefer Joaquin Phoenix after I saw him in her.

Kalyx triaD 10-27-2014 07:35 PM

One report is confirming that he actually took the role. SuperHeroHype could be jumping the gun, but they're not known for being explosively wrong like that.

ClockShot 10-27-2014 07:49 PM

Read it on the front page of imdb.com.

That's as good a source as anything for movies.

McLegend 10-27-2014 09:11 PM

I love Benedict Cumberbatch so I'm on board with this.

Kalyx triaD 10-28-2014 02:41 PM

Possible...

Huge...

News...

Looking for confirmations and sources.

Holy god...

"Chad Boseman" apparently confirmed to be Black Panther too

These were all more or less announced already.

Lock Jaw 10-28-2014 02:57 PM

Not really. Wildly speculated on is different than confirmed.

Comic Book Resources article doesn't mention Inhumans, but Newsarama's less detailed one does.

Find it "interesting" that the two movie between the two Avengers flicks are "sci fi"/"space" in nature. Wonder if they will tie in with the story, or if Infinity War will be self contained.

Lock Jaw 10-28-2014 03:00 PM

CBR has now edited Inhumans into their article

Lock Jaw 10-28-2014 03:11 PM

I still kind of want an Iron Man 4 that will pick up from the All Hail the King One-Shot. Final battle against the real Mandarin/Ten Rings.

Also still really want a Black Widow solo film... but looks like Carol Danvers will get the honour of being the first leading lady in a solo film.

Kalyx triaD 10-28-2014 03:17 PM

Tony, T'Challa, and Steve!

KalyX mentions he's looking for confirmations, so that would mean these are still NOT confirmed.
