DC hinted in Batman:Urban Legends #4 Tim Drake might be gay or bi. The story arc continues for two more issues.

As a non-straight person who grew up with Tim Drake as their main Robin I can say they've hinted at Tim being bisexual more than once over the years in various comics so I'm really curious about this.

slik 06-16-2021 02:18 AM

Also very curious about issue 1 of 6 of INFINITE FRONTIER that comes out next week. It's basically part 1 of a much bigger story for the DCU it's been said.

I really enjoyed some concepts Josh Williamson introduced while the writer of The Flash and now he's being given the keys to the kingdom to be the architect of the next phase of the DCU post Scott Snyder and Death Metal.

Lock Jaw 06-16-2021 09:42 AM

Never read anything where it was hinted that he was..

Fignuts 06-16-2021 10:47 AM

Changing the sexual preference of an established character doesn't work, because we can literally see the internal thoughts of the characters. And at no point in Robin's history was there a thought bubble that said "Huh. For some reason, looking at Conner is making my dick hard. Weird."

slik 06-16-2021 01:06 PM

There are a lot of TimKon shippers out there actually

Tim often changes his superhero identity in the comics because he's never comfortable with who he is (Is he Robin, Red Robin, Drake, etc). There was the time he flirted with Bunker and went with him to a big Gay Pride event. Tim's gone from being sort of asexual to trying to make a relationship with Cass work, who he's still friends with but as Urban Legends says, she thinks there's something else he's not dealing with... There's been a lot of little subtle hints over the years on and off so it's not out of nowhere. Iceman in the X-Men was out of nowhere.

Also just because characters don't think things in thought bubbles doesn't mean they haven't thought them. They've never had Harley Quinn have a thought bubble wondering what plant Poision Ivy's vagina most likely smells like but it doesn't mean she didn't think about that before they began dating. In fact, I don't think Harley ever had thought bubbles about finding women attractive prior to her relationship with Ivy and I've never seen anyone find that relationship out of nowhere.

Lock Jaw 06-16-2021 01:24 PM

Ew. Don't take anything that happened in the new 52 Teen Titans seriously please.

Also, never took Tim as asexual.... most notably he has had the on and off again long running thing with Spoiler.....

slik 06-16-2021 01:34 PM

Speaking of Ivy, her girlfriend from college recently showed up in the main Bat title as another villain, The Gardener, who specializes in Plant/Animal hybrids

Other recent Bat-happenings include Dick Grayson's new dog Bitewing/Haley and Barbara Gordon wearing a t-shirt with the meme of Batman slapping Robin.

However,
That was not the biggest thing to happen to Nightwing recently as this is pretty big news...

Some DCU film news/rumors

Villains of Shazam sequel said to be three powerful witches, Helen Mirren playing the oldest of the witches

Shazam also possibly appearing in Black Adam OR Hawkman possibly appearing in Shazam sequel rumored

Black Adam script apparently amazing

Test screenings of Suicide Squad very, very, very positive.

DC might let James Gunn and JJ Abrams be the new architects of the DCU on screen possibly

Please just give me one good Superman movie with Henry Cavill. Just one. Idgaf if it’s a Max original.

Lock Jaw 06-18-2021 02:53 PM

Too bad Joss Whedon is on the poop list now.... I enjoyed how he made Superman enjoyable in Justice League

slik 06-18-2021 03:05 PM

I like Man of Steel.

I think it's a really underrated film.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-18-2021 04:01 PM

It’s ok. Lots of good ideas packed in a movie with too much going on and I didn’t like Superman’s story at all. It’s at least enjoyable though.

I do think Henry deserves another shot with a more light hearted/fully realized version of his character.

Lock Jaw 06-20-2021 02:00 PM

The Flash movie's Supergirl:

Costume reminds me of Kon-El Superboy's costume pre-black T-Shirt...

I feel the same, though I agree with the criticism of the PA Kent death. Terribly written scene.

i get that but it looks like they're going for the lara lane-kent version rather than kara

Lock Jaw 06-20-2021 08:23 PM

Pretty sure it is gonna be some alternate reality version so it don't really matter if it is Kara.

Well, even if it wasn't alternate reality, I don't really have a problem with hair colour as long as the character is actually good.

mitchables 06-20-2021 08:50 PM

yeah i'm not stressed about it either really, just from the hair and costume it looks to be lara, which is p cool

could be kara and i'd still be fine with it tbh

INFINITE FRONTIER #1 I thought was very good

:y:

Some really cool surprises and I'm looking forward to issue 2. The biggest two moments for me were

SPOILER: show

Pscyho Pirate as Darkseid's new pawn

Roy Harper as a Black Lantern...whose appears to be alive

slik 06-22-2021 10:33 PM

Here's some pages from INFINITE FRONTIER #1

SPOILER: show

Lock Jaw 06-30-2021 01:08 PM

Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are apparently working on a Smallville animated continuation of some kind.

Meanwhile, Allison Mack has just been sentenced to 3 years in prison.

slik 07-03-2021 06:46 PM

Gail Simone did a Q&A on Twitter earlier about the New 52, which mainly consisted of people telling her titles they loved during it and also asking why everything was disjointed and confusing and seemed unorganized...

Turns out everything was unorganized because DC didn't tell anyone what was happening with other titles and didn't really explain what they wanted to accomplish with the New 52 to any of their writers lol. That explains things like why Supes/Wonder Woman were having a romance in Geoff Johns Justice League while Supes had given up his costume and was going in a totally different direction wearing jeans in Grant Morrison's supes run at the same time.

Sounds like Batman was the most organized, by total accident of Dan Didio saying Batman was too popular to change much of his history so just include everything and make it up however you want to say it happened now.

slik 07-03-2021 06:52 PM

Even still, in a post Dan Didio DC, it seems like DC just lets big writers do whatever they want and not worry if it doesn't vibe with other titles/stories featuring the characters.

Grant Morrison's recent run on Green Lantern was very Grant and esoteric (the GL rings are actually alive and you can go inside them and visit a genie like figure) which didn't really vibe with anything else happening in GL comics.

Brian Bendis, in the last month, has already abandoned the new DC Omniverse concept and has characters talking about the DCU being made up of only 52 planets and has Damian Wayne going by Robin, something he's given up in all the other bat books currently.

Darkseid up to more bad stuff in IFINITE FRONTIER #2

Really enjoying this series so far, some highlights from issue 2:

Leslie Grace becomes the second Latina to be cast as a DC hero. Big Screen Leaks on Twitter is reporting she’s been cast as the new batgirl.

Taking our jobs

Fignuts 07-21-2021 07:20 PM

DC doing their best to catch up to Marvel's SJW nonsense, with the I'm Not Starfire comic.

This is why manga is obliterating American comics in sales right now

drave 07-22-2021 09:31 AM

Mangas tend to tell damn good stories. I remember having to read "Barefoot Gen" in high school. Had an AP English class that focused on Japanese culture. Hard read, but really told the story of the nuclear bombings in a light I hadn't seen before.

The world in and of itself is becoming a parody of itself. Much like shows who bring in a "gay character", their gayness will be the character, much like the shit the TV industry is doing.

Fignuts 07-22-2021 09:54 AM

Yeah, like Iceman has always been a very boring character, from a personality standpoint. And instead of finding a creative way to make him more appealing, they just turned him gay.

They should stop making my fav characters gay..... not that I am homophobic, just don't like their character traits changing.... and then "being gay" becoming one of their defining character traits just because....

drave 07-26-2021 10:17 AM

Right? Gotta have gay everywhere now, whether its relevant to anything happening or not.

Next, we're gonna find out that the real issue with Wolverine and Sabretooth is a love/hate filled past relationshit between the two. Omega Red was the third who couldn't handle a third but said he could and now he is upset.
