I followed a link to the WM30 Austin podcast with Heyman after watching that trailer, and came across this gold:

"First of all, I believed in my crew. There was nobody on that roster that I didn't truly believe in for the spot that they had. I truly believe The Sandman is one of the greatest characters we ever stumbled upon. Do I think he's a great worker in the ring? Absolutly not. He's the drizzling s----s. and probably one of the worst workers of all time. But he was a money draw. Why? Because when that music played, and he did that entrance, that audience was engaged! And they were with him- they were all as one! And it was part of that EXPERIENCE of the 2 1/4 to 4 hours that we gave you a show!"

Also, it made me wonder- for good or ill- what would have happened if Crockett didn't, as Paul E. put it "bitch slap" him over the phone and actually went on to be a radio personality, leaving the wrestling business entirely. Not just how different woud he have been, but the business as a whole? Kind of the same thought as to how different the rap game would be today if Snoop didn't go on to record "Doggystyle" and help launch Death Row into prominence (again for good or ill), and instead, went to USC to be their QB which apparently was a very viable option.

This place really hasn't fucking changed, holy shit.

VSG 05-21-2014 08:52 AM

Fuck you too.

Xero 05-21-2014 08:52 AM

Why fuck me? :(

Xero 05-21-2014 08:53 AM

Do we have heat? I don't remember.

I mean, I know I like you. I hope you still like me. :(

VSG 05-21-2014 08:53 AM

Because there is still likely loads to fuck, big boy :naughty:

Don't tell me you weigh the same as Afterlife these days.

Xero 05-21-2014 08:55 AM

Doing DDP Yoga legit. That thing is amazing.

Not Afterlife sized, but about a small asian woman lighter so far.

VSG 05-21-2014 08:58 AM

Seriously? I might have to give that a go. I don't really stick to schedule like that though. How's the relationship going? Still with her?

Xero 05-21-2014 09:01 AM

Yeah, engaged. Still following wrestling, but because of my job I'm usually 2-4 weeks behind on RAW and SD. Barely been watching the network, but there is so much good stuff there.

Major reason I left is because my life got legit hectic. Things are calming down now so I'm back.

VSG 05-21-2014 09:04 AM

Congrats on the engagement!

Xero 05-21-2014 09:06 AM

Thanks!

So what's good on TPWW? Anything I need to know or same-old?

Mason Ryan's theme song was called "Here and Now or Never." Guess he never was there, and never.

Missed you. Good to see you back, even if only temporarily. I've been occasionally throwing up a BotT poll/thread for a while. I know a few years ago that was your thing, and I'm just not ready to see it die.

If you get the chance, or if you're even slightly curious, you should do a search using keywords: battle, themes...I think the first one I did was #54.

Currently there are three matches officially announced for the upcoming WWE Payback pay-per-view on June 1st in Chicago, Illinois. Those matches are The Shield vs. Evolution in a No Holds Barred Elimination match, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match and Bad News Barrett vs. Rob Van Dam for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Other matches likely for WWE Payback include The Usos vs. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan for the WWE Tag-Team Championships, Paige vs. Alicia Fox for the WWE Divas Championship, Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the WWE United States Championship, Adam Rose vs. Jack Swagger, Rusev vs. Big E. and Summer Rae vs. Layla with Fandango as special guest referee.

As far as the No Holds Barred Elimination main event, a possible scenario being considered is one that would see Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins eliminated early, leaving Roman Reigns to make a huge comeback on all three Evolution members by himself.

The match will be Batista’s final match in WWE for several months, and based on plans for the future, could be one of Triple H’s last for a while as well.

Lesnar is an option but WWE is also considering other potential opponents for him at 'Mania. The Rock has expressed to McMahon personally that he wants to work with Reigns before he retires. On an interesting note, I mentioned to one source The Rock, and it being a title match, which would mean Rock would have to get the title going into WrestleMania and the source responded with "Yes, it would likely happen at Royal Rumble and remember he does technically have a rematch from when he lost the title to Cena."

Assuming WZ is actually correct, it would mean that Cesaro's stock went down in favor of Barrett based on the last time a supposed list for big pushes/future champions was hinted at.

ron the dial 05-21-2014 09:29 PM

it makes some sense. barrett is gold on the mic, and cesaro can barely use the thing.

real great stuff here!

Jim Cornette vs. Cowboy Bill Watts feud is profiled before Bill Watts comes out of retirement for ONE MORE MATCH against The Midnight Express.

He also brings in Stagger Lee as his tag team partner. Stagger Lee was simply a masked Junkyard Dog.

This shit has been said before about Barrett.

What would be any different this time around?
