If punk is off a few weeks youd have firms data as to what his role is in the draw.
|
I def think there would be a hit but i dont think it would be cataclysmic. Nothing a marquee match couldn't replicate. Punk isnt without a fandom. That said i dont think its so large it justifies all the damage he does to the image of the brand as a whole or the negative impact he has on the careers of every worker who doesnt capitulate to his totalitarian locker room antics.

Nah, Destor is spot on.

Punk doesn’t damage the image of the brand. He pulled them up. You can’t claim him having no credibility through UFC and then have a roster full of guys who look non-athletic and can’t throw a working punch.
Destor’s likely right in a general sense, but Punk obviously helped to a depth that WBD specifically wanted him around. The way internet fans interpret ratings isn’t anywhere near reflective of the true value some people have. Plus, people have now had a more sensible product with a star dangled in front of them. I was willing to give Collision a chance, for example. Now? Fuck em. |
Initially, of course he brought their image up, no one is denying that my dude. His unprofessional attitude and tantrums ruined him. He did it to himself. Even if the Bucks BUSTED into the room, it isn't hard to be a professional. To each their own. CM Punk aspires to be who Bryan Danielson is, but he's simply too selfish.
Taking it from an extremely casual fan's perspective (meaning no rumors//sheets//etc - strictly on-screen crap): It took everything away from their event, which is sad. Most people wouldn't even know the story when TK announced the termination. I fail to understand how any employee at any business//org causing this type of stir is a good thing. It isn't. There's been zero impressive anything from CM Punk "On TV". Couple sloppy matches, injury, complaining, another couple sloppy matches, bye bye. I don't know (or care) about ratings in the least, and honestly, no one on this board does. Everyone just parrots the alleged "insiders" and/or pick sides. |

Danielson was once my favorite wrestler. It pains me to say it, but the guy has fallen so hard. I think everyone wishes him the best and “respects” him in a general sense, but I don’t think there is any particular envy to be what he is. Maybe what he once was?

it isn't wrong tho. just looking at things from your "casual fan's" perspective of the on-screen product.
Danielson has a better mind than Punk, an it isn't even close. If he hadn't gone to AEW, youd still be stroking his balls |
Nah, he doesn’t. At his peak, I may have preferred Danielson. But his ideas don’t stick and lack structure. And he’s too much Mick Foley and willing to put over Val Venis and Al Snow.

They'll be fine and it kills you.

I mean if you’re going to me criticised for something maybe being too selfless is one of the better things…

Not when you're in AEW pal!
Get with it! |

They are not, it is not possible. How much did Tiny JUST spend on Metallica, Queen, and Europe songs? He doesn't just license the song for a one time use, he buys it in perpetuity for any and all replays. We already know Final Countdown is obscenely expensive. Metallica is the same deal. I don't know about Queen but I would imagine they aren't cheap either.
Whatever they took in from the gates of those 2 shows, when they are paying maybe 20% of the gates just to license songs, they are not fiscally sound. |
They also sank the equivalent of a lot of countries’ GDPs into that video game.
|
It’ll be interesting to see the ratings for next week. Becky Lynch is going to NXT to challenge for their Women’s Title and it’s seemingly created quite a stir.

I blame Nia Jax

Reports coming out that with the merger being completed Vince is more involved. Vince immediately brings back and books Nia Jax to dominate Rhea and Raquel. :?::n::fu: |
That is an abysmal number.

NXT about to do better numbers than Dynamite AND Raw.
|
It's time for TKO to wake up. They claim that they would have no problem having Smackdown on any other night even though the title is "Friday Night Smackdown". I think it's time for them to also see that Raw is dying on Monday Nights and get it off that night too.
I would flip NXT and Raw. Raw would benefit from being on a different night, and most people won't care when NXT is on. |
NXT just did 850k
Dynamite might be in trouble this week |

It should be noted that Collision’s ratings are sinking. 327k this past week. The show dropped about 100k in viewers over the course of the show. Lots of excuses made about WWE competing against them (with NXT) but I’m not sure that explains people choosing to watch Collision then tune out. That seems like a quality of the show issue.
|
Lol. ratings don't matter as long as they get the demo rating people like us.

You know.. us that apologize to our clothing that we fell asleep and forgot to move them from the washer to the dryer...3 days sooner.
