Turns out the March 11th episode of NXT won't be taking place at TNA/Impact's old home in Universal Studios as was speculated but instead at WWE's Performance Center.

After the 2/26 episode of NXT went off the air, Paul “Triple H” Levesque stated that the March 11th show will broadcast from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

It is being dubbed “Fan Appreciation night” and tickets for the show went on sale following his announcement.

Probably couldn't find a decent sized venue in the area on such a short notice.

The rumored Universal Studios location did come with the potential risk of them not filling up the venue due to the short time for ticket sales and NXT struggling with house show attendance in Florida in recent months.

slik 02-27-2020 12:47 AM

Oh.

Isn't the Performance Center sort of a giant gym (minus bleachers)?
That might look super indie.

Emperor Smeat 02-27-2020 01:16 AM

Yeah. If NXT has been getting complaints about Full Sail looking "low rent" then the PC is going to be just as bad or even worse by comparison.

Like maybe "indie event at a warehouse" tier in terms of setting depending on how WWE configures the place.

Although on the bright side, NXT could also pull off a WCW-style World War 3 Battle Royale match because of the gym's current layout.

Almost like you're watching AEW. NXT would be better off leaving the PWG shit alone and trying to do some good wrestling.

Lock Jaw 02-27-2020 06:55 PM

Trying to think right now about who Kofi Kingston beat for the title last WM and for the life of me, I just can't think of who it was......

Lock Jaw 02-27-2020 06:57 PM

Oh yeah.... Daniel Bryan....

the David Von Erich stuff is so good to get an insight to how his death impacted that area.

grown men had tears in their eyes. girls were crying in their boyfriend's arms.

you really get a sense just how beloved they were. truly hometown heroes.

Just finished the Von Erich section. Holy shit, what a section.

I highly suggest everyone interested in the Von Erich to give at least that part a listen. So great. I've been pimping this podcast for years. Between the Sheets is so good.

Plus, Beau James being on the show makes it that much better.

Apparently the person who inspired the name for Vince McMahon's first wrestling-related company, Titan Sports Inc, passed away on Wednesday.

Vince would later use Titan Sports to purchase WWF from his father and then years later renamed it to WWF making them the same company instead of separate ones.

Bad News Gertner 02-28-2020 01:05 AM

I've never heard of that before. Very interesting.

Mr. Nerfect 02-28-2020 06:05 AM

There would be some very interesting Vince stories should he ever write a(n honest) book. If the XFL is anywhere near successful, that would be a perfect time.

Bad News Gertner 02-28-2020 01:03 PM

Sean Mooney's podcast has been quietly one of the better podcasts lately. Episodes usually run an hour to an hour and a half. He has different guests that you don't see on other shows. Good stuff.

Mr. Nerfect 02-28-2020 05:43 PM

Kind of hope WWE has the guys talking shit about Goldberg be weekly opponents for him in a short run. There's no harm in having Tyler Breeze killed in a few seconds and sent packing back to obscurity.

Droford 02-28-2020 05:57 PM

I've only heard "John Cena is here tonight on SD to promote his new movie the Invisible Man" joke like 500 times

Mr. Nerfect 02-29-2020 06:25 AM

Bray Wyatt is having a sook on Twitter apparently. Wrestlers are almost as bad as wrestling fans.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-29-2020 09:26 AM

Noid, if you had to describe your own wrestling fandom, would you consider yourself a cool wrestling fan or an insufferable wrestling fan?

I barely consider myself a wrestling fan these days, but if I had to go into it: I'm cool by wrestling fan standards. I get invited lots of places, get laid, people seem to respect my views and want to be around me. I wouldn't get along with most AEW fans in a social setting without tempering my personality to be more their level and flow. I don't do that on here, because I don't mind being obnoxious as fuck about something I am passionate about. I'm sure most wrestling fans find me insufferable. I tend to form my views based on data and what I think is good taste and informed opinions. That is why when I criticize something it rubs people the wrong way -- it rankles them because they know I've got a good fucking point >90% of the time and it challenges their taste.

Is that Fandango? It's weird that they use him for stuff like this, but won't actually use him as a performer on their wrestling programs.

Seems WWE is currently going after The Revival's trademark filings based on recent trademarks filed by the company.

One of the trademarks being opposed is the Revival's "No Flips, Just Fists" phrase although WWE's filing doesn't have the comma included.

It will be The Miz & John Morrison defending against The New Day, The Usos, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, The Lucha House Party, and Heavy Machinery.

Mr. Nerfect 03-01-2020 03:03 AM

When I saw that The Revival weren't in that giant cluster of a Chamber, I assumed that WWE had given up on trying to convince them to stay.

Not what I said. I said by wrestling fan standards. There are no cool wrestling fans. There seems to be a need to put words into people’s mouths around here. Looking at the crowd shots of AEW fans, they’re a certain type of person for the most part. They’re absolutely valid, but they’re not exactly the sort of people I see in my social groups. Maybe they all have winning personalities? Good for them if they do.

If you ask an honest question, you’ll get an honest answer.

Mr. Nerfect 03-01-2020 04:24 PM

What do you think of yourselves, Corporate CockSnogger and Seph?

Emperor Smeat 03-01-2020 06:22 PM

Better Superman Punch than the one Roman Reigns spams during matches. What helps is that OC's motion and the camera cut made it look a lot more impactful than the goofy way its done in WWE.

Mr. Nerfect 03-01-2020 06:51 PM

Holy shit, you're right! I don't know why WWE is wasting their time with that phoney Roman Reigns. They should get rid of him and pay Tony Khan $3 million to get Orange Cassidy out of his AEW contract so he can be the one to beat Goldberg. That way they can actually make a new star.

 You're right.

And while we are at it, might as well have Orange Cassidy replace you at TPWW since you've been annoying as hell in recent weeks.

I find the immature and endless praising of anything not WWE annoying so I call it out. Sorry you had to fall in the firing lines, but "spamming?" Fucking "spamming?"

I saw a destroyer in each of the first three matches at Revolution. I didn't count superkicks because that would have just put me to sleep faster.

Sepholio 03-01-2020 08:25 PM

Sounds like you're easily anoid.

I'll see myself the fuck out.

Nah, you can stay.

I’m not easily annoyed. What I find annoying I find really annoying though. Wrestling without logic has been annoying me lately, as has the hypocrisy of fans. People are allowed to be biased — I do get that. It doesn’t mean I have to like it and can’t point it out though.

Roman Reigns is not a guy I associate with “spamming moves” in this era.

It's always been Fandango. And I made that remark ages ago about both of he and his tag partner having to do their own Fashion Files shit and post it online instead of being on TV and having matches. And they remained pretty over for awhile in spite of it, much like Motor City Machine Guns were in TNA when those two were getting pretty much the same treatment as these guys in WWE, but over a massively longer stretch of time.

It's too bad that they can't get Clint Bobski back. But if the timeframe of season 3 is legit, they've hopefully found an opponent for Debbie by now. And for some reason, I wonder if they'll have gimmicks akin to "Making A Difference" Savio Vega, Skinner, and Hakushi. And more importantly, will this mean the return of Porkchop Jones?
