El Capitano Gatisto 05-27-2005 11:34 AM

Inter Milan's place should be given to Liverpool.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-27-2005 12:29 PM

Roy Carroll has been released.

Any comments about him releasing the ball into his own net against Spurs are entirely welcome.

The Mask 05-27-2005 12:32 PM

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times... Roy Carroll is a cunt.

packt up 05-27-2005 05:21 PM

At the end of the day he was no where near good enough for Man U.

packt up 05-27-2005 05:54 PM

Also England team vs USA:

England team: James, G Johnson, Brown, Campbell, A Cole, J Cole, Jenas, Carrick, Richardson, Crouch, A Johnson.

Jobber central :y:

yianni 05-28-2005 12:33 PM

Lads, who do you think United should sign as a keeper?

I have randomly the following names being linked
1) Buffon - 35m offer already been done according to tomorrows papers.
2) Robinson - Fatty for 10m.
3) Casillas
4) Frey
5) Hildebrand

Realistically why the fuck would Buffon or Casillas bail? Robinson would be good - I reckon Cudicini though.

packt up 05-28-2005 12:51 PM

United have no chance in signing either Buffon or Casillas given their financial state. Robinson is the goods - I've always said Arsenal or Man U should have gotten in their before Tottenham. Frey is good and is a possibility I guess. Doubt Chelsea would sell Cudicini to their rivals - if he leaves at all it will be abroad. As a Newcastle fan I fear they may sell Given and I think thats who they'll get if they sign anyone.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-28-2005 01:35 PM

Hildebrand is on a free transfer this summer. I will not, could not, understand it if a top team does not give him a go on a free.

Mr. Monday Morning 05-28-2005 01:46 PM

If they don't go for Hildebrand realistically I can't see how Shay Given could turn them down.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-28-2005 02:03 PM

Very loyal, loves Newcastle. He should go, he belongs at a better team. He's just coming to his peak now, he could spend 4 or 5 years with a top team. Manchester United would be tough to score against with Given in nets.

Wengerland 05-28-2005 02:10 PM

Hildebrand signed a new deal in the end didn't he? Very good keeper anyway.

Casillas's contract talks are meant to have stalled, so i guess United could make an effort for him aswell.

Anyway, Crouch is out of the England game with an ankle injury i think, Alan Smith is meant to be replacing him.

Wengerland 05-28-2005 02:13 PM

Oh yeah, and Van der Vaart is going to Hamburg for £4.5m :|

He's meant to have an attitude problem but i'm certain he can do better than that.

Well it's not as if he's causing a ruckus trying to get out. But as you say he is loyal, so for him to come out and say some of the stuff he's said towards the end of the season (i.e. being disappointed, wanting to win trophies etc) I'd take as a sign he's ready to up sticks (pun not intended). He's already been there what, 8 years now? I don't think the Newcastle fans would begrudge him a move if it comes down to it, to be honest.

Rob 05-28-2005 07:06 PM

Apparently, Real Madrid are gonna be making an offer for Buffon this summer.

Ogen 05-28-2005 11:55 PM

So wheres Casilas meant to be off to then if they want Buffon

Rob 05-29-2005 07:18 AM

That's the big question

packt up 05-29-2005 07:32 AM

BBC Sport says that it looks increasingly likely that Liverpool will be given a place straight into the Champions League next season probably at the expense of Fenerbache. The qualifiers clash with some other committment that Liverpool had I think the European Super Cup. Good news all round I believe.

toxic rooster 05-29-2005 07:33 AM

Why Fenerbahce?

I'd say if they're going to kick a team out, let them kick out Inter

packt up 05-29-2005 07:37 AM

I was thinking that too. I have no idea where Fenerbahce came from to be honest. But heres the link for everyone:Reds getting in?

Mr. Monday Morning 05-29-2005 08:02 AM

I think it's because Turkey have the lowest ranked league out of those that are given automatic qualifying spots.

toxic rooster 05-29-2005 09:21 AM

That would make sense. Are they the lowest/only team to qualify from Turkey?

El Capitano Gatisto 05-29-2005 09:26 AM

They should boot Inter Milan out and give Liverpool the place. The Italians need to be punished properly for the crowd trouble.

Cactus Sid 05-29-2005 09:27 AM

No, I think Turkey get 2 places, top team qualifies automatically.

I haven't been around since last Monday, I don't think I need to say anything more about Wednesday that hasn't already been said, just the most amazing night, and for once, and I honestly mean this, I wasn't negative at half time, and genuinly believed we could do it.

In Rafa we trust. Absolutely amazing.

Also, I hope Harry Kewell has his legs broken so he knows what its like when something really does "snap"

Couldn't agree more.

Frankly, the very fact that AC fans behaved so well, both after they were beaten on Wednesday and through the whole Inter thing, shows that the Inter fans need to be punished severely.

I'm not sure exactly how they should sort out this whole thing, but I do think it is ridiculously backward that they hadn't thought of this possibility in the past. Everton deserve the Champions League spot and it shouldn't be taken away from them, just like it shouldn't have been taken away from the Spanish club when the same thing happened with Real.

toxic rooster 05-29-2005 09:43 AM

So Fener finished second in Turkey then?

Mr. Monday Morning 05-29-2005 10:04 AM

No Fenerbahce are champions. As it stands they go through to the group stages automatically, same as Chelsea and Arsenal. The idea is to give that spot to Liverpool and put Fenerbahce into the qualifying rounds. Which the Turks are a bit pissed about.

toxic rooster 05-29-2005 10:07 AM

Ah k, and the team that finished second in turkey is in the qualifiers too anyway?

I see now

Wengerland 05-29-2005 12:44 PM

Awesome League One play-off final, finished 4-2 to Sheffield Wednesday after extra time.

Felt a bit sorry for Hartlepool really, two dipshit mistakes and it cost them the game :-\

West Ham - Preston has a lot to live up to.

Rob 05-30-2005 04:49 AM

2 for 2 in play off predictions.

Come on Preston!

And look who finished top scorer in La Liga too :D

Just noticed this. Make it £50 and Give me a deadline for when Hoddle can leave and I'll take it (I don't think he'll be there a year one way or another)

Mr. Monday Morning 05-30-2005 07:22 AM

Alright £50, if he stays past December 31st

Rob 05-30-2005 08:32 AM

January 31?

LK 05-30-2005 10:17 AM

Come on Preston. Don't like West Ham at all and I've actualy got a Preston shirt som come on Preston.

Oh and Congrats to Diego for last night. I would say Villiarreal could be a bit of a suprise package next season in the Champs League. Some of the times I have seen them, they have played some magic football.

El Capitano Gatisto 05-30-2005 10:21 AM

They'll probably lose Riquelme this summer.

Rob 05-30-2005 10:26 AM

They will certainly lose Riquelme this summer as he is going back to Barca and they can't afford his wages to keep him.

LK 05-30-2005 10:34 AM

Yeah that will be a big blow to them. Riquelme's an awesome player.
