He's no Bill Dundee, the greatest Scottish wrestler who ever lived.

A short, shit list.

Savio 02-04-2020 02:29 PM

Shouldn't Drew be 24/7 champ now?

GD 02-04-2020 02:46 PM

It wasn't for the title.

Savio 02-04-2020 03:03 PM

WWE is dumb

Seanny One Ball 02-04-2020 03:04 PM

Drew is an awful name.
I think he should go with Dre.

Emperor Smeat 02-04-2020 06:22 PM

Apparently WWE held another meeting with NXT talent at their Performance Center after holding one last week to discuss new rules after the Riddle-Lesnar incident at Royal Rumble.

The most interesting part of the meeting was WWE telling their talent to stop talking to the dirt sheets after details of last week's meeting were leaked. Also seems some talent have been unhappy with WWE's lack of health insurance for NXT talent and the company doing nothing to address the over-crowding issue at the PC.

Emperor Smeat 02-04-2020 08:28 PM

Rumor going around the net is that WWE recently hired 4 notable Japanese wrestlers but none from NJPW for their NXT Japan project.

It was hinted that the official announcement is going to be made around Mania time.

Seanny One Ball 02-04-2020 10:55 PM

Man alive does Marshall Von Erich suck ass.
That's the worst Claw hold of all time.

Seanny One Ball 02-04-2020 10:56 PM

Somebody needs to buy that boy some boots and steroids.

They made up a rule that if the champion is in an actual match, the "24/7" is suspended until the conclusion, presumably to avoid any interruptions. Because that's as far as their thinking went with the Crash Holly Memorial Title.

Though, technically, Drew could have pinned him a second time after he was done and won it. But why would you?

Better or worse than Lacey?

Seanny One Ball 02-04-2020 11:59 PM

I don't watch women's wrestling but after a quick highlight reel on YouTube it does seem to be an appalling family trait.

I'd say their Claw holds are virtually identical in that they destroy all investment in the match by looking so feeble.
I am no Von Erich fan by any means, I actually think Kerry and Kevin were dreadful too but at least they looked physically intimidating.

Their progeny are fairly obviously roid free and the only discernible inheritance is their lack of coordination when in the ring. That being said their dad's were on all sorts of shit and were working for their psycho old man for way less than they should have, so at least they had an excuse.

It's not like Davey Boy Jr who looks like somebody stretched and dehydrated The British Bulldog but who is also a great wrestler in his own right.
These kids just can't wrestle very well and the moves they use expose them fast.

Lacey doing chokeslams is a good example of wrestle crap.

Seanny One Ball 02-05-2020 12:09 AM

That Jordan Oliver stinks too

Lucky you. I suffered through Lacey's TNA run. Talk about skating by on a name.

Hell, Benoit's son would have a better time adopting the Von Erich name than trying to swim through the shit sewer of Chris Jr.

Evil Vito 02-05-2020 12:43 AM

Killer Kross, Timothy Thatcher, and Aja Perera to WWE

Chris Benoit's son should fight under the name "Natural Born Killer"

Seanny One Ball 02-05-2020 02:01 AM

I said fight instead of wrestle there.
I blame MLW for that.

My girlfriend was at a Verizon store near Tribeca in NYC yesterday and she was there for a really long time as they tried to find some particular product for her in the city that they didn't have in store. As she was waiting the S
Sales guy started a story... "You know who comes in here all the time?" "Who?" She asked. "Vince and Shane McMahon. They come in almost weekly. Apparently Shane gets mad a throws his phone all of the time so it breaks and he or Vince come in to pick up a new one all the time. They have a house just around the corner".

Such a random story but kinda funny.

Seanny One Ball 02-05-2020 09:55 AM

I'll bet that happened once and the salesman has been living off that story ever since

Apparently a major writers strike is rumored to be close to happening and if it does, MLW might end up benefiting big time since Amazon has been in talks with the company as potential content insurance in case it happens.

Since MLW doesn't use union writers, they wouldn't be affected by the strike and can supply Amazon with new weekly content for their Prime service while the strike occurs.

Mr. Nerfect 02-05-2020 07:34 PM

Kind of been waiting for the first wrestling promotion to sign with a OTT streaming service. Good for MLW if it happens.

Emperor Smeat 02-05-2020 10:55 PM

Based on FOX's recent fiscal report, the company took a notable hit in revenues due to them losing UFC and spending a ton of money to get WWE.

Also FOX learned the hard way that WWE programs don't bring in the ad money like actual sports do nor can WWE bridge the gap lost from UFC.

Also likely going to hurt WWE if they try to claim during tomorrow's investors meeting that they are making a positive impact to FOX.

Amazon Prime had Dojo Pro which was somewhat associate with ROH. I will probably get into MLW if they are on Amazon Prime though. That's Selina chick is straight fire.

WWE is in talks to sell the rights to its pay-per-view events, which are currently available via the company’s WWE Network OTT platform, to another “major” streaming service, chairman and CEO Vince McMahon revealed Thursday.
“Making reference to OTT and the interest of the major players, we’d be announcing that deal if we go that way, in the first quarter, that’s how far along we are.” So that means a deal — if made — would be announced by next month.

According to the Observer, Regal and WWE had been trying to sign Timothy Thatcher to a deal for the past 5 years and the only reason he finally accepted was due to his plans of wrestling in Japan never coming to fruition.

Also another main reason for WWE's firing of their co-presidents was due to them and Vince bickering over the increasing talent costs in the company. Vince wanted to sign and keep more talent regardless of their use to the company while the co-presidents wanted the signings to stop and rosters trimmed down since there was too much dead weight.

Also both co-presidents saw the Network as WWE's future for financial success while Vince didn't which is why WWE now is considering pulling PPVs out of the service.

In regards to Charlotte's Rumble win, supposedly it was due to WWE feeling bad for her since she was promised to be the main women's star last year and instead those plans had to be scrapped because of Becky's sudden rise.

GD 02-06-2020 09:44 PM

So they were fired for making valid points and concerns.

This is absolutely baffling and daft.

Sepholio 02-06-2020 10:55 PM

TIL Abraham Lincoln was a champion wrestler and only lost one match in his entire life.

GD 02-06-2020 11:06 PM

I remember reading an article about it. Wasn't aware of his record though.

Well, it's from the Observer. So, it's probably horseshit.

WTF happened at the end of this match? It seems like Neidharts fat choked him out.
