Ambrose is awesome, but he's also the most heelish of The Shield. Well, he's been a face and he's plucky and all that, but he's got this villainous quality about him. He's the crazy one and will win over fans, but his appeal isn't as mainstream as the pure face thing Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins can do.

Mr. Nerfect 05-11-2014 02:49 AM

I thought it came off as opportunist and Sheamus sounded like a bit of a dick where he made he sound like he had no hard feelings for Ambrose. It's just a nuanced heel who isn't suddenly a coward or overly angry. He's just slid into "see a shot, take a shot" mode.

#1-norm-fan 05-11-2014 03:09 AM

Bleh. I miss when heel turns were impactful.

They could have at least had him cheat a little to retain it on Smackdown just to signify his turn.

fascinating article on territory wrestler Chris Colt.

Anderson recalled an incident in 1975 in Phoenix when Chris hallucinated during a cage match: “He’d taken some kind of junk. He got in the cage and thought he saw some giant spiders. It was just like he was envisioning giant spiders climbing in the cage at him. He was flipping out. He started a riot. I was swinging chairs to get out.”

Maybe now he can go back to being "champion of all the United States" and wearing the red, white, and blue ring attire.

Just kidding. That ship sailed years ago. Being an arrogant prick heel should be enough fresh air for him over the arrogant, happy-go-lucky prick face he has been.

whiteyford 05-11-2014 10:15 AM

Nitro followed by Thunder followed by the repeat of Raw, wouldn't even consider 6-7 hours of wrestling in a row now.

Now THAT'S the kind of moxie that's going to win us that tournament!

Anybody Thrilla 05-11-2014 01:25 PM

Damn, Sheamus and Ambrose had a banger on Smackdown. Sheamus is kinda the man.

Anybody Thrilla 05-11-2014 02:04 PM

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I love the 3MB and Hornswoggle pairing.

Wonder what Bret Hart and his wife talk about...

loopydate 05-12-2014 12:21 AM

I'm gonna guess Bret Hart.

And Montreal.

Lock Jaw 05-12-2014 12:22 AM

Probably a good guess.

According to both the dirtsheets and a few news sources, NBC is expected to reveal this Thursday that they agreed to a new deal with the WWE for their tv shows. The new deal is rumored to be worth at least double what the WWE got in the previous deal.

WWE executives told anyone that asked that they hoped to have a new deal signed by May, as well as have it announced within the month too. So if NBCU announces the new deal this week, it would come as no surprise. WWE hoped to sign back on with NBC, now they may have. This despite rumored interest from Discovery and even Disney.

"Welcome to longest running weekly running episodic extravaganza known the world over as Monday Night RAW live on the Discovery Network!" would sound really weird.

Or you could keep coming in and eventually you would have seen all of it.

Mr. Nerfect 05-12-2014 07:49 AM

Kind of wish Dean Ambrose got to keep the US Title and was just forced to defend it like twice a week for a while.

Dirtsheets:

Quote:

There were major concerns about money at this past week's set of TNA Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, specifically with the production crew.

People in production were upset about being behind on pay and it was said that if they weren't caught up on pay by a certain point, they were going to walk out in the middle of last week's sets of tapings.

These threats clearly made their way back to TNA management as checks were issued to people and everything cooled off. There was a 24-hour period where there was a lot of tension backstage. As noted earlier, money is tighter than ever right now for TNA.
