Black Sabbath - Live Evil
Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio circa 1982 (Mob Rules Tour). Just awesome that RJD does his take on the old Ozzy Sabbath greats like Ironman, War Pigs, Black Sabbath and N.I.B. Definite 9/10 Hard album to find unless you order through Amazon. Haven't checked if you can stream on YouTube. |
Michael Jackson - Dangerous
8/10 |

Jeffree Star - Beauty Killer 10/10 |
Stereo MCs-Connected 6 outta 10
All I had from them was Connected. But found the CD for 50 cents. Not a bad album. Would work great for background music at a party. RannSack-Live at the Days Inn in McComb MS-8 outta 10 From the late 90s this is another Mid MS classic rock cover band. Found this Cd at a junkstore and it looked so cheesy had to get it. Their cover of Funky Town is so bad it is great. |
Harry Chapin - Essentials 9/10
It's worth buying for W.O.L.D and 30,000 Pounds Of Bananas but it is a majestic album that takes your body and mind through just about every possible type of good mood. Obviously Cat's In The Cradle is on there too but that's a given. |
Dead Kennedys-Frankenchrist 10/10
This was the DKs at their peak. Goons of Hazzard,Jock-o-rama,MTV get off the air and Stars and Stripes of Corruption are hardcore classics. Plus how can you not love an album that included a Giger poster of a landscape made of penis? Only drawback is this album is one of the major reasons why the Parental warning stickers on records got started. FUck you Tipper fuck you with Merc's snack pack smelling midget cock. |
I am a bit surprised that y'all get the time to listen to albums in their entirety. I barely have the time to listen to new tracks.

One of my favorite weird poppy indie albums of all time. 5/5 |
The Afghan Whigs - In Spades - 9/10
Brilliant new album. Buy it this coming Friday. I pre-ordered it from Sub Pop and they gave us the digital copy 2 weeks early. It is the fucking tits. Big'uns. |
The Avalanches. Where have you been all my life.
|
Radiohead- A moon shaped pool 9/10
Best album since OK Computer, imo Metallica- hardwiref 5/10 Dunno, just sounded really generic. Nothing really grabbed me at all. |
What about In Rainbows? You can't possibly ignore one of the greatest Radiohead albums of all time.

I've been listening to a lot of the stuff being posted on Stoned Meadow of Doom's youtube page (https://www.youtube.com/user/StonedMeadowOfDoom93), for the last couple of month. The new Elder album, Reflections of a Floating World, has been kicking my arse, for the past couple of weeks.
I have been listening to too many albums in the past 7-8 months to list them all, but a selection: Varttina - Viena 8/10 Percival - Eiforr 8/10 (Witcher 3, hollah!) Sun Ra - Supersonic Jazz 7.7/10
Talking Heads - Fear of Music 7/10 Yes - Fragile 8/10 Ram Narayan - Rag Shankara 7.5/10 Hall & Oates - Private Eyes 7.7/10 |
The new Margo Price album is streaming on NPR and I gotta say, I dislike modern country music..so much...especially "bro-rap country" like that kermit the frog sounding motherfucker Luke Bryan. Margo is TRADITIONAL country (which i love because it takes me back in time to the 80s and 90s in my house). The duet with Willie Nelson made me tear up..at work..like a legit boss haha.
Her first album was an A...this one is also an A...maybe A+ after a few more listens. Also steaming is William Patrick Corgan - Ogilala. Billy...its fucking billy..stop being a douche. The album is also great. It is sparse, mellow, acoustic-piano stuff with some orchestral help. Surprisingly good. Solid B |
Sleep - Dopesmoker 7/10
Omnia - Naked Harp 8.3/10 Henry Cow - Unrest 7.5/10 Shubha Mudgal - India Mystica 7/10 |
So I moved to France and its like the late 90s / early 2000s has just hit here.
Listening to Indochine who are an angst / emo band. They were around in the 80s and changed their image in the late 2000s to go all emo, basing themselves off brit emo band Placebo. Their latest album, 13 is pretty decent. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5. Also listening to a band called BB Brunes who remind me of the mid 2000s British indie scene. Their latest album is called Puzzle. I really like this one. 4 out of 5 |

Wolf Counsel - Age Of Madness / Reign Of Chaos 7.7/10 Trio Da kali/Kronos Quartet - Ladilikan 7.5/10 |
Cavalera Conspiracy - Psychosis 8.5/10
I think it is the best album Max Cavalera has done in maybe 15 years; if you enjoy Arise/Chaos AD-era Sepultura, with a bit of Nailbomb, you need this shit. Wardruna - Runaljod: Yggdrasil 7.7/10 |
That last one is clearly 7.9/10. Duh!
|

Norah Jones.

Quote:
Vag, my love, do you wear square glasses and suspenders? (suspenders are hispter, right?) |
All Pigs Must Die have band members from Converge and Trap Them, which is the only reason why I found out about them.
I came across The Age of Truth through the "Stoned Meadow of Doom" youtube channel, which posts stoner/doom/sludge/psychedelic albums. No idea how I came across Townes Van Zant, or Varttina for that matter. I'm too cool to be a hipster. |
Julie Fowlis - Gach Sguel 7/10
Leila Schayegh - CPE Bach: Works for Keyboard and Violin 7/10 |

Ransakk-Live at the Holiday inn
This appears to be a demo CD that might have had 10 copies out there. Ransakk was a Mid Mississippi based bar band. Playing covers of lots of southern rock and pop country covers. Found this CD at a local junkstore. And I am assuming the copy I found was from a radio station, cause besides the CD it had a bunch of paperwork going into detail about the band. 6/10 |
"How the Moon Shines on the Shit" by Somnia
Really cool "power pop"... the idea is that they wrote all the songs while they were sleeping.. mad cool |
A Perfect Circle - Eat the Elephant 8/10
Varttina - Utu 7/10 |
New blood orange album is ill..

Not going to lie: my taste in music over the years has been (and remains) impeccable.
|
Pig Destroyer - Head Cage 7/10
Decent enough, but kind of weak when compared to their "Terrifyer" and "Phantom Limb" albums. Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions 7.7/10 |
Gjallarhorn - Grimborg 8/10
|
Gjallarhorn - Sjofn 7/10
Midori Takada - Through the looking glass 7/10 |
Wardruna - Ragnarok 7.5/10
Väsen - reWhirled 7/10 |
Florence + The Machine - High as Hope 2/5
Even more subdued than the last album. Really prefer the more bombastic style they had in their first couple LPs |
Punch Brothers - All Ashore 7.7/10
Neko Case - Hell-on 7.7/10 |
Power Trip - Nightmare Logic 8/10
A modern band playing old school thrash metal; delicious. |
Fucking apple music has 500 hundred Francoise Hardy songs but not the one song I fucking want. Jesus christ. 45 million songs indeed.
|
Also why is it that when I search for Jackie Wilson in Apple music, the first result is Jackie Chan?
|
What in the fuck he has a whole music career?
What is life even |
Quote:
Genesis - Genesis 8/10 Torche - Restarter 7.7/10 |
YOB - Our Raw Heart 8/10
I'm not generally a doom metal fan (I prefer stoner metal, sludge; stuff that is in a similar vein), but after a few listens I got into it. |
