I bet Ric drops this shit as soon as they put the title back on Charlotte. He's being petty af, that's all this is. Someone using his schtick got more popular than his daughter and got a push and now he's big mad about it.

Hell, Ric doesn't even own the trademark for the thing he is bitching about. He's filing for it now. That alone doesn't bode well for his chances of "winning" anything in the circumstance. And I have a feeling the USPTO is going to laugh his claim out of the office; people have been calling themselves "The Man" forever, way before him, and way after him. Everything in his own schtick was taken from someone else ffs.

Ric just wants another match. If she's going to be The Man she has to beat The Man.

In attempting to find some semblance of optimism - if they actually do a re-draft and neither USA nor FOX wants to cross-promote, we can avoid the nonsense “brand pride” storylines that crop up every November.

He has been more or less since he left the WWE for TNA

That seems to be where this dispute revolves around since he is claiming WWE is trying to get around having to pay him any royalties from those shirts. Since they refuse to listen to him, he's now trying to get legal ownership of "The Man" by using his other trademark as the basis.

If he didn't have the "To be The Man" trademark, this would be similar to the Carlton dance ownership dispute and his chances of winning would be almost zero.

It's business. I don't think it's being done maliciously. My guess is Ric is more in the hole than usual and this was a way he could maybe get some money.

According to The Wrap, the official reason for WWE's recent Creative shakeups was due to WWE feeling Smackdown wasn't at the quality level it needs to be before debuting on FOX and Eric Bischoff catching some backstage heat for being in charge of the botched Erick Rowan look-a-like reveal payoff.

Has the “Who attacked Roman?” angle been botched that badly?

I figured the thing with the doppelgänger was Bryan bringing in a scapegoat to turn the finger of blame away from Rowan before revealing he was behind it all along. Roman speared Bryan cos he knew he was full of shit.

It’s only fucked if the are legit using it as a vehicle to push Rowan as a singles star.

Yes and its mainly due to them stretching things out longer than it should have been because they can't make up their minds or stick to plans. They waited too long to start the feud and didn't want Bryan vs Reigns for SummerSlam. Then they decided to not have Bryan vs Reigns be at Clash which meant having to stretch out the big reveal for at least an extra month while doing a poor job with the swerves.

Whatever was meant to be the original follow up to the Rowan look-a-like reveal pretty much got tossed when Vince rewrite the script the following week.

Since it's now the 40th anniversary of the Intercontinental Championship

Do they talk about the early IC champs, or is it mostly newer stuff.

Was either John Pollock or someone else who mentioned the storyline really comes off as something being written week to week and not something that was planned out ahead of time. Like no real build up to Rowan snapping or his doppelgänger being just a swerve.

They only do that for wrestlers who got released or retired.

I have this weird feeling that FOX wants Bryan and Charlotte to be babyfaces. Most people seem to think that Bryan is going to be behind the Rowan/Roman stuff, but I think the bigger twist would be Bryan not being behind it.
