I've not kept up... what's up with Ring of Honor? Last I remember really following them was around, maybe 2011 or something. They were still pretty big, third after TNA and WWE, and were unofficially WWE's feeder company or something.
|
They lost all their top talent to New Japan, Evolve and AEW. They've also had lots of bizarre moments lately, such as Bully Ray (their new head of creative, and let's just say that isn't going well) pulling a fan backstage at a show and yelling at him for what Bully deemed as trying to steal the spotlight from wrestlers.

Lmao this has endeared me to Triple H.

Yeah he's a loser. Fucking shit turd.

Watching Takeover. Sound is not matching the video. How can I fix this?
|
That happened to me too and it never fixed. I watched late last night and the sound was several seconds behind the action the whole show.
|
Yeah it's two seconds off. Had no issues before they did an update
|
I only had that issue watching on my laptop. Switched to xbox and the sound was fine.
|
Hmm. Only way I can watch rn is my laptop. Planning on getting a Roku this week though so hopefully that will help.
|
I will be watching on my Xbox app tonight. I wasn't at my place last night so I had to try and stream. Failed.

Was a fan of Riddle on the Indies but he's not doing himself any favors in WWE. Calling out Goldberg and Booker T and now wanting a match with Brock at Mania. Just seems like he thinks he's better than what he actually is at this point in his career. Also I think he's supposed to a face but the bro shit is annoying to the point he comes off a heel.
|
His match against Velveteen Dream where he pretty much worked as a heel fit him so much better than being a face. Hoped he would turn after the match, but he didn't....
|
NXT does do a better job with the face/heel dynamic than the main roster. Dream is a guy that kind of floats between the two in matches but is clearly a face character. Riddle needs to be like the NXT Women's champion more in my opinion and play off him thinking he's better than everyone because he used to do MMA. Needs to stay off Twitter also.
|
Update: the sound is fine when streaming live. Neat.
|
Listening to Conrad and Bischoff arguing about Sting/Hogan.
God I love The Bisch. |
Time to pack ROH up.

Official Summerslam Ratings
Natalya vs Becky **
A fine opener, better than expected but not great at all. Goldberg vs Ziggler *** Highly entertaining segment. Bill was like Bruce Willis in Die Hard, amazing character and I hope they push him through Elias at a Saudi show and have him on a winning team at Survivor Series to build him up against Drew Mac at Mania. AJ vs Ricochet **** So good for a 13 minute match with a brilliant finish. Finally the bout between these two that we needed. I'm sure there will be more, probably a ladder match or something cool. Bailey vs Moon ** 1/2 Solid match both are really good workers especially Bailey but Moon has amazing spots. Solid for 10 minutes. Owens vs Shane *** 1/2 Totally entertaining and well done WWE smash match. I enjoyed it a lot, it has moments that will make you laugh and moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. Great storytelling even though the Shane story isn't one that I love, they are telling it well. Charlotte vs Trish **** Probably the best match of Trish's career. Had some slow spots but only for a bit, the rest was so good and Charlotte is a brilliant worker... truly the female equivalent of her dad. Kofi vs Randy ** Very solid Orton match, nothing spectacular except the spectacularly bad finish. I give two because they were able to do a decent 16 minutes but the finish was shit. The Feind vs Finn *** 1/2 Tough to rate. By far one of the best parts of the show. The match was perfect for what it was, Finn was perfect, Feind was AMAZING. So AAA. But then the match came off like a NJPW struggle. Fucking awesome how good Bray can be. This gimmick could be the next big thing in a way we've never seen. He could be the baby face Psycho Clown type for WWE I think. Brock vs Rollins **** Awesome match, brilliantly laid out by the WWE agents or whomever. That is one thing about this show, the producing of the matches seemed top notch even if the build for all of them was pretty bad. Great culmination of this feud that has went on for many years. I don't mind that at all, the long term booking. Great finish here, cathartic moment for The Universe. |
The first SmackDown on FOX already sounds like it'll be another legends show. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Booker T, Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Trish Stratus, Jerry Lawler, Mick Foley, and Sting announced.
|
So 3 matches for the debut....
|

WWE probably regrets not launching the show in the fall since they did the same thing with the 10th anniversary by holding it in October and not in April since that's the real anniversary month. |

So the first show on FOX will be built around people who won't be on episode 2 or thereafter

the good (?) news is AAA posted a plug for the AAA show in LA on Facebook for the first time since June.

the less good news is it was so low effort, they forgot to finish the closing sentence. LuchaBlog still feels both US events are eventually going to be cancelled based on some recent talks with some in AAA's management. |
USA Network better hope that Stone Cold's new reality show is a mega hit for them since there is a real likelihood they could be losing both of their Chrisley shows that usually follow RAW and Smackdown within the near future.
Apparently the family is currently under investigation from the Feds in regards to tax evasion and other possible financial crimes. |
There are too many stars being advertised for them to all do something meaningful. It would have been more effective to space them out and give them proper emphasis and actually try and hook people with them.

I watched Straight Up Steve Austin last night and it was really good. A solid 20 minutes of Austin doing a podcast style interview over shooting big ass machine guns and driving a tank over some trash cars for fun with Rob Rigel. Good interview, Austin is a great interviewer and comes off so personable and fun to be around. I will certainly watch more episodes as they come.
|
WWE had a full video of The Fiend's entrance on their YouTube channel and they've already edited it to remove the lantern.
And the pussification of the angle begins. |
