Besides more alleged incidents of plagiarism, this person was supposedly very lazy when it came to doing prep work of any kind. At least two known incidents with one needing others to bail him out of a report he had to do and another involving an interview where he asked someone for ideas and instead of using it as a basis for topics, just straight up copied their wording for the questions of the actual interview.

Think its more due to Amazon and others losing a ton more money than expected running these types of programs.

They make very slim profit margins on new games as is and these discounts were cutting into it more than helping for the long run. If these programs were bringing in a lot more money, they'd have no real reason to cut or gut them.

Just about a year after release and Destiny 2 is a freebie.

Bungie must be really betting everything on Forsaken and praying it doesn't disappoint. I'd like to know how much Sony has paid all this time for exclusive rights, marketing, etc.

I enjoyed Amalur.

Also been suprised it wasn't backwards compatable on the One. since I own the game in Digital Form.

Likely a rights issue since until now, believe it was the state of Rhode Island that still owned the IP. EA only owned the publishing rights to the game although not sure if they kept it after the state took over the IP.

I blasted through Amalur in about a week when it was put on PS Plus and the writing gave me at least three migraines.

I can't even remember what happened, something about a dark elf, but he wasn't called a dark elf, and everyone just kept using made up words more than they used actual words. There was a kingdom under a tree I think? Green elves? I can't remember anything past that so I must have mentally checked out at the point. Was that even near the end?

Destor 09-07-2018 10:21 AM

I dont think so. I think thats like the first major plot reveal BUT its been years so i dunno

Ultra Mantis 09-07-2018 10:29 AM

Apparently I got a platinum trophy in 8 days and I can't recall a single additional detail from that last post. That pretty much sums up my Kingdoms of Amalur experience.

Late Night News Edition

Apparently EA might end up causing loot box systems to be banned in all of Europe instead of just Belgium and the Netherlands due to their refusal to follow Belgian laws against gambling.

Basis involves the Belgian (and Dutch) government recently declared loot boxes to be a form of gambling and are requiring gaming companies to follow those laws in order to keep their games legal for sale.

Activision and Blizzard removed loot boxes from their games in dispute, 2K Games pulled their loot boxes and asked fans to tell their government to change the decision, and others tweaked their loot box systems to be compliant. EA decided to give the equivalent of a middle finger and kept selling loot boxes after being warned to stop.

Now EA is currently facing a lawsuit over the issue and instead of settling, want to fight it in court thinking they can overturn it or pay off people to make the issue go away. Instead the current feeling is EA is going to lose big time and screw other publishers in the process.

It's not just access. If you stop paying for online, your cloud saves are permanently deleted.

Thats not accurate its just something thats going around. The fine print reads:

"unable to guarantee that cloud save data will be retained after an extended period of time from when your membership is ended."

So there will be a buffer period just like on ps+. Ps+ is 120 days

Shutting down the studio and all of its projects is currently expected to cost Capcom around $40 million.

It was also reported Capcom has scaled back their global development plans with all major projects to be developed only in their Japanese studios going forward.
