Machine gun wielding raccoon would like a word with you.

Kalyx triaD 01-09-2014 02:24 PM

The newest Marvel short "All Hail The King" is indeed about Trevor Slatery as I thought.

Miotch 01-09-2014 05:51 PM

Please some how turn him into an actual supervillain. Please.

Fignuts 01-09-2014 07:19 PM

I rather liked Trevor.

Kalyx triaD 01-09-2014 08:53 PM

Actually the plot, as much as they wanted to reveal, shows that nobody knows who that the real Mandarin was taken out by an Avenger's girlfriend. As far as the world knows, the real Mandarin is in jail. Of course he would likely be in a Gitmo but let's have fun, I guess.

Kalyx triaD 01-09-2014 09:37 PM

Some random guy in a comment section of a news site asked a very good question;

Does Sony have the rights to Miles Morales, the current Ultimate Spider-Man?

Some background...

Years ago it was revealed during Raimi's run that Marvel has this weird thing with Spider-Man where his chief books at the time, Amazing, Spectacular, and Ultimate - were separate entities that had to be licensed each. If this is true, and remains true, Marvel/Disney could in fact use Miles in the MCU. We could know for sure if anybody would ask if the current Spidey movie-verse was the use of a past acquisition of Amazing, and if Ultimate is fair game.

Both Sony and Marvel Studios seem to dip into the Ultimate universe more often than not, so I could be riffing moot ideas right now. But with the unusual set-up that allowed Magneto's kids to appear in two separate movie universes, I wonder where things stand taking the Marvel multiverse into account.

So, how would you guys feel if Miles became an Avenger in the MCU?

Fignuts 01-09-2014 10:02 PM

Would rather have no spider-man, if the they can't get the peter parker version.

Also, I feel like Spider-man works better as an avenger on the page, than he would on the screen. Can't really explain why. Just feels out of place.

Fignuts 01-09-2014 11:19 PM

FUCK YES

New Iron Fist ongoing announced. Last one by Brubaker was excellent. Good enough where I bought all 5 trades.

Nowhere Man 01-12-2014 09:07 PM

Well, all good things must come to an end, eventually. They've announced that in April, Superior Spider-Man will come to an end and the one true Spidey will be back for good.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/01/...ior-spider-man

I'm torn on this. On the one hand, Peter Parker is far and away my favorite character in all of comics, and I hated the way they killed him off, so I've been begging for him to come back and finally give Otto his comeuppance. But on the other hand, Superior Spider-Man has just been so damn fun that I kinda don't want to see it end.

parkmania 01-12-2014 09:35 PM

Haven't been keeping up with it, but please tell me it's not another "sell me your soul and we'll all pretend this never happened".

I want to see how Pete deals with whatever Otto might have done while in control.

Reavant 01-12-2014 09:48 PM

It wont be like that. If you pay attention, theres seeds in an earlier comic where you see petes subconscious get reborn when otto is trying to remember an equation to stop a bomb

Kalyx triaD 01-12-2014 11:43 PM

I theorized before that Superior Spidey isn't going anywhere.

Kalyx triaD 01-13-2014 03:36 PM

MICHAEL FUCKING DOUGLAS IS HANK PYM

Miotch 01-13-2014 03:48 PM

what?

I thought it was going to be Paul Rudd?

Miotch 01-13-2014 03:59 PM

This explains the answers to my questions, and is (possibly) spoiler-ish.

Lock Jaw 01-13-2014 04:19 PM

Seems dumb to have an Ant-Man movie and not have Hank Pym, the most "well known" Ant-Man be Ant-Man in it.

Kalyx triaD 01-13-2014 04:27 PM

Taking this discussion to the new thread.

Casting rumours regarding Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot began heating up last week. Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, initially reported months back, continues to be the strongest rumour, with whispers of Miles Teller as Reed Richards, and both Saiorise Ronan and Kate Mara up for Sue. No news of Ben Grimm, until now. Movies.com reports that Josh Gad is the leading candidate to play Mrs. Grimm's baby boy. Gad's probably best known from Trey Parker and Matt Stone's musical, The Book of Mormon.

For y'all unfamiliar, here's the gentleman in question.

Looks like they're going outside the box for this flick, I'll say that.

Inadequacy 01-28-2014 10:14 AM

Miles Teller as Reed Richards?

Like, I guess

For some reason I think Beast when I see that photo.

Fignuts 01-28-2014 12:09 PM

For as much flack as the first two FF films get, they nailed Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm perfectly.

Sixx 01-28-2014 04:29 PM

So Johnny Storm is gonna be black and Sue Storm is gonna be white?

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2014 12:39 AM

That possibility bothers me.

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2014 01:01 PM

Seems we can add Cap 3 to MCU's Phase 3, joining Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, and Avengers 3.

Shadow 01-29-2014 08:33 PM

OF COURSE!

Now I wonder if we'll also have a Thor 3 in there somewhere.

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2014 08:51 PM

Likely, with the numbers it pulled. And we all love Loki and they know it.

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2014 10:34 AM

Aaaaaaaaaand Thor 3 is confirmed just today.

Fignuts 01-30-2014 12:47 PM

Come ooooooooooon Hela

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2014 01:14 PM

I would like to see Enchantress being a love interest/rival/foil to Loki.

Fignuts 01-30-2014 01:57 PM

So finished reading the whole X-men Battle of the Atom crossover.

Been really enjoying all the x-books since Schism, but my god this story was dumb. I said a while ago when talking about Sentry's origin story, that in comics you have to have a rather large suspension of disbelief. But as ridiculous as things can get, it still has to make sense on some level, or it crosses over from fantastic to just stupid.

Battle of the Atom is just stupid. The basic premise is that the original 5 x-men were brought forward in time, and now the X-men are divided on whether to send them back for obvious reasons, or let them stay because they feel the orginal 5 should be able to choose their own destiny. This is fucking retarded. You're telling me that with all the time travel, alternate reality headaches the X-men have gone through, that they would be willing to put the entire space time continuum at risk just for some new age hippy "live life how you want" bullshit?

Never mind that there is a GAPING plothole in the story, as there usually is with time travel stories.

Honestly, I'm sick of alternate reality/time travel stuff as a whole. Feel like there's just been way too much of it over the last 10 years. Seems like its like an old well they keep going back to whenever they're feeling too lazy to write something creative.

Well at least it's over, and the x-books can go back to being awesome again.

This is actually very likely. He's down and Lauren is down. Just waiting on Fox, and like hell they're gonna say no to one of the hot guys of current Hollywood.

It does make Deadpool's lack of progress sad, with Ryan campaigning that for years now. Perhaps X-Force.

Fignuts 02-06-2014 11:35 PM

Paul Bettany is The Vision.

Kalyx triaD 02-06-2014 11:40 PM

HOLY SHIT

Fignuts 02-06-2014 11:40 PM

I love that casting btw.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2014 12:45 AM

I love the implications.

Chris Bosh will be voicing Heimdall in the Hulk cartoon. Yes that Chris Bosh. Yes that Heimdall.
