Yeah this week was the Roadblock special which might indicate that’s around the top of NXT’s potential audience, especially with the potential for Shawn getting physical/announcing a return.

Shawn isn’t returning. It’s Waller vs. Gargano on Stand & Deliver which probably pops the NXT audience in person but doesn’t bring many extra eyes in.

I don’t think NXT touches AEW anytime soon, and if they do it’s more probable that it’s AEW coming down to NXT levels than NXT going up to AEW levels.

raw - 1.71 million

Only twice as much as last week's Dynamite, that is practically Dynamite winning the Monday Night Wars!

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2023 12:56 PM

We haven’t even seen how Dynamite and “All Access” are going to hurt those AEW numbers yet.

Mr. Nerfect 03-15-2023 12:59 PM

AEW has a show for almost every episode of the alphabet, A-E. All Access, Collision, Dynamite, Elevation.

XL 03-15-2023 06:43 PM

NXT 590,000

I mean if you count the "specials" then Bash at the Beach covers B.

XL 03-16-2023 08:57 AM

Battle of the Belts.

xrodmuc316 03-16-2023 12:30 PM

Every episode is Dynamite Cocaine Party

There you go. I mean, there are the specials, Seph, but that makes it too easy.

Mr. Nerfect 03-16-2023 04:32 PM

852k for Dynamite. They’re under 50% of what Raw does.

XL 03-16-2023 04:42 PM

Ooooooof.

Remember the very first Dynamite ever got 1.4 million? It is weird they lost 600,000 viewers right? I mean they have 3x Booker of the Year, surely he has put on amazing TV, weird the audience is disappearing.

Mr. Nerfect 03-19-2023 02:23 PM

The state of AEW should disqualify Tony Khan from any sort of award.

Mr. Nerfect 03-19-2023 05:13 PM

Tony Khan is set to turn it all around with Dynamite next week though. You’ve got Kenny Omega vs. El Hiji del Vikingo and Jon Moxley vs. Stu Grayson. The cherry on top is Hook vs. Stokely Hathaway in a no DQ match for no reason.

Wehttam 03-20-2023 07:33 AM

actually, there is a reason

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 10:44 AM

No, there’s not. Is Stokely Hathaway even perceived as a wrestler? Why do you need to go to a gimmick?

Wehttam 03-20-2023 10:46 AM

yes, there is.

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 10:47 AM

No. There really isn’t. Why is Stokely Hathaway even having matches?

Wehttam 03-20-2023 10:48 AM

i am sorry that you insist on being wrong.

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 10:48 AM

The “AEW is really good, guys, really” gimmick you’ve got for itself has run its course.

Wehttam 03-20-2023 10:53 AM

uh, what? now just making up shit because you don't like being informed that you are wrong? strange tactic.

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 10:58 AM

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 11:04 AM

AEW Revolution was down roughly 22.5% YoY in terms of PPV buys, according to Meltzer. Oof.

Wehttam 03-20-2023 11:16 AM

moving on is the best move for you. congrats.

“Why do you need to do a gimmick to make a wrestling match with a guy who isn’t perceived as a wrestler work?”

Oof

If the match is your "Memphis Bullshit" (credit: Shane Douglas) manager match, then sure. But Stokely doesn't have heat like that.

If it is to promote a proper feud where some new guy screws Hook and Stokely wins, it could actually work.

If it is a competitive match and Hook barely wins, Khan would be better off just giving me the money he wasted putting it on.

That’s it. There’s no reason for this to be shooting out this much steam. It’s less Memphis and way closer to “_____ on a pole.” Hook and Stokely having a “feud” is no inherent reason enough to blow things up with a gimmick match.

Hook should probably still be at the point where he is wrestling a member of The Firm. If Stokely is going to be the guy getting heat then he should be helping his clients get wins over Hook so that Hook has obstacles to overcome and the payoff can be the match with Stokely.

That is ok if they make 22.5% less PPV money, it's not like Tiny pays for all the wrestlers, ref, agents, and employees hotels and travel, so his P&L Report probably still looks really good!:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 04:15 PM

At least AEW doesn’t have the burden of needing to make money to stick around.

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 04:17 PM

And more talent should be leaving rooms when their contracts are up.

slik 03-20-2023 04:33 PM

SD - 2.26 million
Rampage - 474k

Mr. Nerfect 03-20-2023 04:56 PM

Rampage about to catch up.
