Could see Sinclair instantly turning on ROH the second it doesn't make $ for them

slik 06-18-2019 03:24 PM

In a weird way WWE/AEW could kill off anything other than indy-indys it feels like...

Outside of some exceptions, Sinclair barely funds ROH to begin with. Gives them just enough to be above operatable but not enough to actually expand into a bigger company.

ROH's biggest value to Sinclair is being a consistent and very cheap provider of weekly live content for the network. Same reason why Anthem hesitates on actually selling Impact and why USA Network gave up on finding a potential replacement show for RAW.

Watching Memphis again. There is a spectacularly brutal tag match between Buddy Landel/Bill Dundee Versus a local team of Jim Jameson and David Haskins in 1986.

I think there are two moves, Landel Dropkick and a Dundee press slam. The rest of the match is just an endless barrage of what look like legitimate punches mixed in with some horribly stiff kicks, forearms and elbows.

You have to see this, at one point the jobber Haskins just starts gobbing blood out of his mouth then they drag him up to the commentary table and you can see his face is lumped up beyond belief.

The guy sells it like he has just had the shit kicked out of him because he clearly really has.

You should see this thing, it's on Prime. Best of CWA 1986 Volume 4 at around the 1 hour 10 minute mark.

Just brutal.

Bad News Gertner 06-18-2019 04:39 PM

86 Memphis is fucking tremendous.

I've been watching stuff from the Network. Did you get them all via torrent or is there another site you used? Was All Start Wrestling the only TV show they had during this era? I started watching I think it was in 92 where Snuka debuted, Ventura was new, Valentine wanting Pedro bad... pretty cool stuff. So is it all about the Spectrum and Garden or is there another show? Also man would I love to see all of the good stuff minus all the Johnny Rodz matches. Do you know of any long form edits available?

Mr. Nerfect 06-18-2019 06:20 PM

Scarlett Bordeaux is possibly the hottest woman in wrestling, but does she fit WWE? I'm sure they'd be interested though. I think she signs with AEW so she can keep doing AAA stuff.

1. They had a few shows. The main shows were Championship Wrestling and All Star Wrestling. They also had shows like Maple Leaf Wrestling which were Canadian Specific and had to be shot in Brantford Ontario (began in late 84), Wrestling at the Chase in St.Louis (Very early 84. Hogan's first WWF match in his return) and later World Championship Wrestling on TBS (Black Saturday). Then you had Prime Time Wrestling and TNT.

2. I've got the shows a bunch of different ways: people sending me stuff, torrents, stuff I've copied off youtube.

3. NESN didnt start airing Boston show till 85 which I have a bunch of. I have a few Meadowlands shows from 84 as well as various house from all over the place

4. All the shows I have are full house shows. I can send you them.

5. Johnny Rodz rules.

This match is one YouTube and I'm watching it now.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-18-2019 06:52 PM

Lmao it's literally about 5 minutes of Landel Dundee tagging poor jobber Jameson with short stiff punches in the head and the mush.

Vastardikai 06-18-2019 06:59 PM

Sounds worse than Koko B. WARE vs the Patriot.

Ricochet the latest victim of leaks, video of him fingering himself surfaced on the interweb

Mr. Nerfect 06-18-2019 07:16 PM

But does he do a double rotation beforehand?

slik 06-18-2019 07:44 PM

I think it's more of an internal double rotation tbh...

Damian Rey 2.0 06-18-2019 08:55 PM

Jesus if we're gonna get leaks can it be good ones?

Jameson offered to get hard wayed to get that angle over. Legendary Memphis jobber

Emperor Smeat 06-18-2019 09:35 PM

 at Mike Kanellis already back to complaining about his status in WWE despite recently signing a new contract with the company.

Considering what happened to Cedric Alexander and Buddy Murphy after they got moved to the main shows, he should be counting his blessings that he's getting decent screen time in 205 Live.

Sepholio 06-19-2019 12:53 AM

Ricochet bout to get kink shamed hardcore.

Mr. Nerfect 06-19-2019 01:06 AM

Bennett is either a moron for expecting things to change or a genius for making sure he gets benched so he can rack up that downside.

yeah you have to fast forward a lot of his crap but some of his rants are funny.

Evil Vito 06-19-2019 06:57 AM

When I heard of NSFW Ricochet stuff out there I was hoping for Kacy doing some impressive bendy stuff, not him fingering his own asshole.

According to Fightful, The Revival turned down another contract extension offer from WWE.

Seems they saw right through WWE's latest attempt to appease them with another tag title reign but then do nothing to actually address their problems in the company.

Sounds like it might be suicide. That's the feeling I get from the last tweet he sent at least.

Innovator 06-19-2019 04:04 PM

RIP.

If they don't include accident in the initial description, chances are it's either drugs or suicide sadly.
