That was not terrible for a 5-year-old.

Looks like Flair and Michaels are having some words with each other.

WWE wants you to forget who the first RAW Tag Team Champions were.

Droford 06-01-2019 03:00 AM

to WWE's credit if you go here he and Angle are listed as the first Raw Tag Team Champions. They wont obviously show him in a video so its kinda hard to acknowledge in the video.

I actually think they should have just started a new Lineage with the New Day as champions going into the split

GD 06-01-2019 03:04 AM

Got "berated" on SquaredCircle for this.

Droford 06-01-2019 03:07 AM

I only do r/wwe since I got banned from SC even though I didnt break a single rule.

also r/wrasslin for memes and r/aewofficial for aew stuff and r/njpw for njpw

screw squaredcircle

GD 06-01-2019 03:10 AM

It doesn't bother me. Why were you banned?

Droford 06-01-2019 03:22 AM

My comment was basically that it was a shame theyhad to resort to roman having "leukemia" to get him over as face (comment was deleted). The fact they were trying to get Ambrose to say shit about it backs up the idea he was never really sick (if he was really sick and they wanted Ambrose to cut promos about it then theyre worse than the worst), plus he went and filmed the movie with the rock and was supposedly "a long way off" from returning to WWE a couple weeks after "entering treatment" and suddenly hes "in remission" just conveniently enough to do the shield match and wrestle at Mania not even 4 months later.

That's a bit ill-timed, Droford. Also, recovery/remission isn't the same in all cases.

Droford 06-01-2019 03:36 AM

granted, I didnt have the stuff about Ambrose back then but..if he really had Leukemia they wouldnt have done that to Ambrose

Droford 06-01-2019 03:38 AM

So if Brock is going to absolutely cash in Monday, and Taker will be at RAW...odds Taker screws him over to set up Taker/Lesnar again at WM

Mr. Nerfect 06-01-2019 08:40 AM

Always baffling to me that they chose to keep the SmackDown WWE Tag Team Championship lineage alive when they unified the belts in 2009.

I'd say no to the Brock/Taker idea, but that really does seem like something they would line up for Blood Money in November or Mania next year.

Think the idea was them wanting to break off from the older eras and establish the newer belts from the brand split era as the de facto titles going forward. That also meant ignoring all the old history attached to the belts with the exception of the IC and WWE belt.

Its also why the current RAW tag belts only trace back to 2002 since that was the original Smackdown tag belts when it became the de facto WWE tag belt prior to the 2nd brand split era.

That's why it is incorrect for them to suggest that The New Day are the first RAW Tag Team Champions.

Also, they even chose the Divas Championship's lineage over the original WWE Women's Championship when the titles were unified.

Mr. Nerfect 06-01-2019 07:21 PM

I'm actually glad that the belts don't mean anything anymore, so you can stop trying to trace lineages and such. Fuck it, Crash Holly is now a former 11-time WWE Champion. Who cares?

I ended-up with a semi-coherent first draft for the thread about re-doing the year 1998-in-WCW.

However, work remains before I'll have a finished draft that I'm satisfied-with.

To fill the gap, here's some "comedy relief!"

If Vince Russo directed a pro-wrestling porno: One of the scenes would be Scarlett Bordeaux pegging Disco Inferno, while Disco makes-love-to Judy Bagwell -- on a (luxuriously padded) forklift, no-less.

According to Jon Moxley, Dusty Rhodes original vision for his Dean Ambrose character is going to be a big influence on the direction of his new character in AEW and the indies.

Quote:

There are no peers to Dusty Rhodes but he treated me like one. He had this vision of me, of how I was going to take over WWE. These vignettes would be in a smokey bar, the camera zooms in on my back, Dean Ambrose leather jacket, in the Viper Club. He called it the Viper Club but he meant the Viper Room. He had this vision of me as a Johnny Depp, River Phoenix, “you’re James Dean baby”. He literally saw me as the coolest person in the world; that’s how he pictured these vignettes and pitched them to me. Dusty saw me as the coolest person in the world and Vince saw me as an idiot. That’s the difference between the two.

Flash forward to my first promo I released after leaving WWE, the prison one and I knew we were filming in LA. I kept thinking about the leather jacket and the Viper Club and I insisted on getting a shot at the Viper Room, just for me. There was deep, deep meaning to that. What I didn’t know is that the dice on the wall were on a two and five, double or nothing but the conspiracy theorists out there noticed it.
He revealed it during a recent interview with website 25YearsLaterSite.com

Watching the ladder match back. You can’t really get the sense of the lighting when you’re there in the arena but they did a great job of masking the fact that it’s really quite a small venue. Small enough that they took it out of their TV taping rotation 6-7 years ago.

Watching an old Raw from 96, Yokozuna just Rock Bottomed Vader.

Cool.

Seanny One Ball 06-02-2019 06:07 PM

Tijari[sic] vs Taka, hits a sweet moonsault off the apron and Lawler says "Brian Christopher does that better" out of nowhere.

I also saw a WWE title match between Taka and Triple H from 1999 or 2000 which had Trips selling like Ric Flair. Crazy what you forget.

Seanny One Ball 06-02-2019 06:23 PM

The Rock and Roll Express just appeared... on Raw in 1997...

Putting them in there with Skull and 8 Ball seems unnecessarily harsh at their age. Old Goldfish eyes Gibson getting beaten up as badly as Wrinkly Morton.

Jim Cornette looks more intimidating than they do. Pretty sure he was still using an old style racket there.

You know those graphics they put up of each fighter before the match? They don't age well.

Seanny One Ball 06-02-2019 06:24 PM

Ahahahahaha Chainsaw Charlie!

I remember that. Terry Funk just wanted to try out a crazy gimmick for once.

Worst thing just happened for WWE based on tonight's NBA Finals Game 2 result. They needed Raptors to win to preserve a potential sweep and instead they lost guaranteeing a Game 5.

Observer thinks next Monday could end up setting a new all-time low for RAW since its going head-to-head with Game 5.

Also seems Impact can't catch any breaks from their Pursuit Channel deal. Going to lose more of their dwindling television exposure due to AT&T no longer carrying the network.
