Serves Jeff right for planning such a stupid fucking bump in the first place. All those drugs have probably mushed his brain so no real damage would have been done.

Wrestling Star Jeff Hardy Knocked Out Cold After Scary Fall From Cage

Impact Wrestling star Jeff Hardy was KO'ed in frightening fashion Friday night in New York ... and TMZ has learned the very painful looking fall left him pretty banged up.

The famous wrestler climbed to the top of a cage during a match at the Manhattan Center ... but when he was knocked off by an opponent -- sources say the fall didn't go as planned.

We're told Jeff was supposed to land on the ground -- instead, he hit the steel steps and was knocked out cold. Hardy eventually regained consciousness ... but was left in a lot of pain.

After the match, Hardy got checked out by doctors for IMPACT -- which now airs on Destination America -- plus he's made an appointment this week to get his head scanned by a specialist.

Why is the ring-post outside of the cage to begin with?

Not sure if he was jealous of Brian Knobbs...

Which would be the first and only time someone was jealous of Brian Knobbs' hair.

Kingofdaswing 01-11-2015 12:58 PM

Anyone see John Cena's tweet regarding HHH being inducted into a sports hall of fame? He congratulated him and all that.

My question is, why the hell would he do that on Twitter? Before I go on, I know it's "entertainment" and I use that word very loosely, but my god, it has completely disconnected me from the biggest story lines that they have. HHH just fired Cena's "friends" and 3 days later he congratulated him on Twitter?

Maybe I'm just being a little picky, however, I think it's a big no no.

Rammsteinmad 01-11-2015 01:37 PM

Kayfabe's dead. :(

Ruien 01-11-2015 01:49 PM

Kingofdaswing 01-11-2015 02:22 PM

Total Divas has more kayfabe involved in their show than the actual wrestling show. That's fucked up if you ask me.

According to Pro Wrestling Insider, the spot involving Jeff Hardy supposedly knocking himself out was a planned spot and not some botch or accident. TNA wanted to write him out because of their upcoming UK tour.

Quote:

The spot was completely planned and is Hardy's storyline injury exit from the company as he cannot travel to the UK tour due to his 2009 drug conviction as it prevents him from entering that country. The "injury" is TNA's way to explain why he won't be on the multiple weeks of TV that will be taped next month in Great Britain.

Vastardikai 01-11-2015 07:14 PM

If that was the intention, couldn't they have just done multiple chair shots to the knee to write him off? It would have accomplished the same thing and not be pants on head retarded.

i don't know why they need an injury angle anyway he does not have a belt, just tell the brits he can't come.

There's no money to be made like that. You have someone take him out, and you'll have a hot program (theoretically) when he returns.

Then again, knowing TNA, I'm kind of surprised they didn't go with your suggestion.

It's not TNA if it's not pants on head retarded.

VSG 01-11-2015 08:31 PM

This is worse than having that spot happen by accident. He landed badly on the steps either way.

I was really hoping the time out of commission and the new branding and channel and reboot would go a long way toward letting them catch their breath and come out strong and much better put together than they were in the end of the Spike TV era, where I could understand them doing crazy shit in the hopes of trying to convince the to keep them on or hope something catches fire.

But from reading spoilers, it looks like it's just a different coat of paint on a shithouse.

Can blame Dixie and management for that. Several interviews she gave leading up to the new channel and the first set of tapings made it clear they didn't bother to change anything during the downtime.

Then again, this is the same group that decided keeping Vince Russo was worth more than a happy Spike TV, the extra weeks of tv Spike was still promising them, and Spike still willing to keep a new tv deal on the table.

How do we know they aren't the same person? Have you ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

Mr. Nerfect 01-12-2015 04:10 AM

Hey, it got them attention. But they really could have used The Revolution (the group led by James Storm) to put Hardy out. Have Matt Hardy call out James Storm in The UK, and have Storm win that match and then they put Matt out too. Build to The Hardys getting some revenge against James Storm & Abyss.

A lot of TNA doesn't sound too bad at the moment. Heel Eric Young actually sounds kind of intriguing. I'm not sure I like Samoa Joe and Low Ki turning however. I'd have just kicked off Impact on Destination with Low Ki beating Homicide or something. Have the loss get under Homicide's head, and he attacks Low Ki after Ki's next defense of the title, triggering a proper feud.

Nicky Fives 01-12-2015 08:04 AM

I'm intrigued by TNA, although I imagine it's only a matter of time until they fuck things up.... the shows are always better in NYC and in the UK to begin with, they just need to keep up the same pace, scaling back on the gimmick matches for the sake of the talent.....

According to PWInsider.com, “fired” WWE stars Ryback, Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan are all expected to be brought back to WWE TV in time for the Royal Rumble.

As of now, the three talents are not backstage at Raw tonight and will not be used on the show.

However, it is expected that something will happen with the three next week on Raw, potentially them “sitting in the crowd” for the show, or some type of invasion angle will take place, which will result in all three men being brought back to WWE.

I posted a picture of Dolph Ziggler on Instagram last night saying I hoped that 2015 was his year. Some guy got on and made a few comments, and pretty much called me a dickhead, because 'Don't I know he's fired?'. I didn't know where to go with it so didn't say much, in case he was joking, but thankfully a couple of other followers stepped in and called him out on it. I've deleted a lot of the comments now though, they were starting to get a bit personal.

Former ECW talent Jason Knight has been diagnosed with advanced throat cancer. The 51-year old made the announcement on his Facebook page Monday afternoon.

Knight is best remembered as the manager of Justin Credible and the Impact Players in ECW, where he had multiple stints. He won the ECW World Television title in August 1994, a championship he would hold for almost three months.

In addition to working for ECW from 1993 through 1999, Knight also made appearances for WWE and TNA at different points in his career. He was a part of the ECW One Night Stand reunion events as well.

Knight posted "UGH!!! Looks like throat cancer, and advanced. The battle really starts now," on his Facebook page Monday and was immediately flooded with well wishers.

Why, in 2015, do we still need to point out what Cena doesn't do well, at any avalable moment? It's gotten to the point where I want to see him do things in excruciatingly bad ways, including winning, just to see the melt down reactions on here from certain posters.

And just remember, he only ONE World Title win behind Ric Flair. Woooooo.

Seth82 01-14-2015 10:32 AM

I'm likely gonna puke the day he surpasses Flair's record.

luckily he still has a bit to go. Flair has held the belt 21 times. WWE likes to acknowledge only 16 of them.

Flair's record should stand forever imho.

Not really.

9 for NWA.
2 for WWE
8 WCW. (7 if you don't count the official switch from NWA/WCW as a title victory)
2 WCW International World Heavyweight Championship (Big Gold Belt)

That's 21 times the heavyweight champion of the World! Woooooooo! He also has a disputed NWA reign that can count as his 10th. There is no logical outcome where you can get 16. It's just 16 because they say it all the time. It's 17 not even including his two reigns in the WWE.

22 times the Heavyweight champion of the world!

Also if the WCW International Title doesn't count than none of Cena's reigns count when he was 1/2 of the WWE's two world champions. Which means he is only a one-time champion.

2 for WWE

Thanks for that. Can you please now correct WWE and every other major wrestling entity that only recognises him as a 16 time champion so they know of their mistake also. Thanks.

Nah. They aren't trying to insult fans for taking Ric Flair's 16 title reigns seriously. Woo!

Here's a random Smackdown nugget

All charges on Kevin Nash have been dropped like a Jacknife Powerbomb.

And just remember, he only ONE World Title win behind Ric Flair. Woooooo.

To be fair, the way Cena takes the curb stomp IS pretty ridiculous. I generally like Cena, and even I cringe every time I see it.

Because he's making a new star look dumb by taking his deadly serious finisher like it's a fucking joke.

I wouldn't go that far.

I will go with what Fignuts said, though.

Izod Center is closing so WWE wont be able to do Summerslam there. Wonder where theyll have it on short notice.

Lock Jaw 01-14-2015 08:48 PM

Not exactly short notice for Summerslam.

Innovator 01-14-2015 08:56 PM

Probably Prudential Center or the Garden

The IZOD Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey is shutting down, according to a report at NorthJersey.com. The venue was scheduled to host SummerSlam 2015.

An official from Governor Christie’s administration said all events scheduled past March 31 would not take place at Izod Center, including WWE SummerSlam on August 23rd ...

WWE will likely look to Madison Square Garden in New York City and the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as potential hosts for SummerSlam.

Daniel Bryan will be facing Kane this Monday night on Raw in Dallas, Texas. That is the Raw Reunion special. The stipulation is that if Bryan loses then he will be removed from the Royal Rumble. I noted a couple of days ago that Bryan was not on the new Royal Rumble poster that was released this week so there may be something to this.

WWE announced during Tuesday's Main Event Live that next week's show will be preempted on WWE Network for a Royal Rumble lottery special hosted by Santino Marella. Prowrestling.net has learned the reason for the preemption is that WWE is unable to air Main Event on WWE Network in the UK due to their current contract with Sky Sports.

Some other sheet news include today being the launch for the WWE Immortals mobile game and RAW managed to go up slightly in terms of viewers compared to last week. Also the official reasons why the Elimination Chamber got moved was due to both traveling costs and new arena designs now limit where they can safely hang the cell in the air.

Droford 01-14-2015 08:58 PM

Considering they announced it 3 months ago 10 months in advance im figuring it is short notice. They probably have their tours planned out ahead to coincide with it being in NJ.

Droford 01-14-2015 09:02 PM

Wait.. If they have this lottery special and announce what # everyone will be doesnt that kill the best part of the rumble? There wont be any surprises

I think it's just them drawing the numbers. Are they going to announce the numbers too?

Lock Jaw 01-15-2015 12:00 AM

The description says "Join Santino Marella for a unique look at Royal Rumble's most entertaining moments".

So maybe it is just a weirdly named special.
