Got to give the dude credit. I was happy for him getting out, but with one idea he’s kind of made himself and his old ring name way more relevant than I thought possible.

Kurt Angle has signed a new five-year deal with WWE to become a producer.

Emperor Smeat 05-01-2019 05:45 PM

According to Dave Meltzer, at least one wrestler recently tried to fail WWE's Wellness Policy tests as a way to get out of the company.

Problem is WWE no longer counts strikes from failed tests if its from people they refuse to release for any reason.

Also seems WWE got pissed at the Revival turning down their recent contract offer and hit Dash Wilder with a 2 month extension on his contract for injury time.

What a toxic environment to be in :nono:

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2019 06:50 PM

Lol, I’m imagining a bunch of wrestlers just roiding hoping to be released.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2019 06:50 PM

We might get a fucking ripped Scott Dawson.

I’m waiting for someone to try faking their death and then re-emerge on the indies with a fake mustache like Mr. Snrub

Ultra Mantis 05-01-2019 06:52 PM

This isn't even a new thing, Carlito claimed he got so fed up of them continually refusing to release him that he decided to start going hard on painkillers knowing they would pop him for it, and even then they only actually released him because he told them to fuck off when they offered to give him rehab for his (allegedly false) addiction instead of firing him.

Also there was the Matt Hardy thing, where he got himself fired by making weird as fuck youtube videos to the point where everyone was concerned for his mental health.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2019 06:52 PM

Bobby Roode blew his cover on Raw. Maybe he’ll get a new Wrestling Rabbi gimmick?

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2019 06:53 PM

WWE could get hit so hard in the PR for this. At some point, something is going to cave.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2019 06:57 PM

Would going more public with this help? Going to the John Olivers of the world? Lean on whatever media contacts you have (not sure how close Sasha is with Snoop, but I’m sure he could deliver some harsh words that could bring attention to his cousin being held captive). Make noise until someone goes “this is awful” and they start letting people go.

Punishing people by not releasing them from their contracts.

It is really cool the way he lives now. I read that he made a good amount of money as a horse breeder in addition to wrestling. Lives in Hawaii walking around barefoot climbing trees and doesn't have to talk to or see anyone he doesn't want to... He's a cool guy for sure.

Sad doc, I wish it was double the length because there is so much to talk about but it's my favorite yet aside from Brody.

Bad News Gertner 05-02-2019 10:35 AM

That's been my main issue. These need to be 2 hours long. It's hard to follow the timelines because they do massive jumps in the story due to time constraints.

Interesting note from this week's Wrestling Observer. When RAW and SD ratings drop 16-17% from the previous year, after DVR viewership is figured in that changes to 14-16%.

In other words, the number of fans who watch via DVR is under 100k, it's not a huge number at all.

Bad News Gertner 05-02-2019 12:38 PM

I wonder how many people watch on the Network.

slik 05-02-2019 12:41 PM

None, current eps of RAW & SD aren't on the network

Splaya 05-02-2019 12:46 PM

I feel like a lot of people watch on Hulu or a third party site to watch RAW and SD. I don't know if they can gain viewership totals through that or not. Like I pay each month for Fubo.tv and watch RAW on that. But I don't know if you can actually add that to viewership

This would make for a fun guessing game.

Dash needs to just keep his head down and stick it out. Could be alot worse.

Stuff like Fubo, Sling, YouTubeTV, DirecTVNow still counts for normal ratings stuff

Yeah the episode was pretty great. With the way the producers teased the episode, thought it was going to be a lot more depressing than it was.

Seeing Kevin break down a bit he got to the 2nd/3rd death in the family was depressing though.

Personally, I'd rank them in order from best to worst:
1) Von Erichs
2) Brody
3) Macho & Liz
4) Montreal Screwjob

I enjoyed it just as much as the Brody one, the only one I really didnt like was Montreal although the cornette/russo feud was interesting.

I literally have no clue who Gino Hernandez is so Im not sure im going to be into next week as much

Droford 05-03-2019 01:33 AM

reading into him a bit his last match was a "freebird hair cream" match in 1986 with chris adams
and instead of putting the cream on his head to win the match he squirted in his face to blind him.
then he turned up dead a few weeks later

apparently he could have had the Million Dollar man gimmick too

sounds fun
