If I had to guess, the clause about losing out on all future royalties would get challenged first before the year long no compete clause. That lets the WWE to not have to deal with another Punk-like situation for merchandise.

The merch royalties rights issue is far more concerning to the talent. Don't schmucks from the 90s still get occasional checks?

No way this holds up either. Money owed is money owed. Employers who owe employees back money can't withhold money just because they were fired.

Arguably they could terminate the merchandise contract, meaning they wouldn't have to pay them in the future, but at the same time, I'm pretty sure they would have to stop production of the merchandise bearing said employee's likeness.

This year, have the NXT representative for the Rumble be Kevin Owens (it's too early, I know).

Now, to introduce him to the WWE proper? I don't know/don't care if the Rosebuds are still around, but if they are, this is also a way to end that bit of nonsense.

There's a segment where Adam Rose or The Bunny steps from the Exotic Express, only to witness female Rosebuds screaming in abject terror. We see a large man slip out of camera view just as we witness the scene: all of the male Rosebuds laid out, and absolutely destroyed.

But more than that, their prone bodies are actually posed. Laid out in such a way to spell out "K O."

For the Rumble itself. There's a stupid bit early on with Rose and the Bunny, trying to eliminate each other. Then... out comes Owens. He looks thoroughly unamused by the shenanigans. He enters the ring, and the two former rivals put their differences aside, realizing that he was the reason why their friends were laid out.

It doesn't end well. Both performers get annihilated and eliminated. However, Owens isn't done with Adam Rose. He gives him that sickening apron power bomb. The mic picks up him screaming "This isn't a game!" He makes sure to step onto Rose as he re-enters the ring. The commentators sell shock. Next person comes in and the Rumble continues as normal, while Rose gets stretchered out, with the Bunny surprisingly at his side.

Too good of an idea for it to happen, which is unfortunate.....

I was not at all blown away by this show. There were WWE shows in 2014 better. Just because they kick out of each others finishers 6000000 times doesn't make it amazing. Christ, they are worse than EOH.

No WWE show, from start to finish, were better than Wrestle Kingdom. The matches were all good, and a couple were great. No bullshit run ins, and the commentary for the show last night didn't take anything away from the show, unlike Cole, King, and the worst of them all JBL.

The work was snug, and didn't look like shit, unlike the WWE matches we have seen. (Why the hell does Cena jump in the air before he takes the curb stomp btw, it's totally unrelated, but there is nothing that pisses me off more, makes him look retarded.)

We knew nothing of the story lines heading into WK, but still, they managed to keep me interested in just their wrestling ability alone.

Nakamura and Ibushi blew anything WWE wrestlers have done in a very long time.

It was mediocre. If the WWE did the same matches you'd be saying the same, but becauae the WWE doesn't have last names ending in Ching Chong then they suck.

You could shoot Okada in the stomach with a cannonball and he'd kick out in 2 and you'd rate it five stars. How many friggwn tines did he kick out of Tanahaski's finisher? Like 10 times.

I had it on in the background and watched a bit. I find the Young Bucks incredibly annoying. Constant superkicks and they're the definition of needless flips and jumps. There was a moment where they were doing a spike piledriver where one of them stands on the top ropes and pushes the guys' feet down while he takes the piledriver... but the one on the ropes decided he had to to a front flip first. He ended up kinda missing the guys feet. It was hilariously awful.

I actually stopped to watch the entire Intercontinental Title match though and I've gotta say, I thought it was REALLY fucking good. I shut it off before the main event. The presentation just wasn't something I could stick with through the whole thing. That match was pretty fucking fantastic though. They just beat the shit out of each other as opposed to a bunch of triple backflips off the top rope while holding another guy on your shoulder before getting caught mid-air in a double electric chair drop.

To be fair to Gertner's point though, I didn't know anyone's finishers so to me it was just a bunch of horrifying looking knees to the face and kicks to the back of the head and such that I thought could potentially end it at any moment.

Lol at the idea of a storyline for Rey lasting from Survivor Series to Mania. They'd have to be really creative to keep him out of the ring for the best part of 4 months.

The good news being it will arrive before the Rumble, January 19th to be exact, and supports a variety of devices just like in the US. Also doesn't have a 6-month commitment requirement.
