I think I've said this prior to the last two or three Royal Rumbles now, but an Angle appearance would be incredible. WWE and TNA have shown that they can work together when the whole Flair/Christian thing went down last year. Would love if they could arrange for something so that Angle can make a Royal Rumble entry. His music hitting would make the place erupt. Have him come in, suplex the shit out of everyone, eliminate one or two reasonably big names and then get eliminated himself. Would make for an amazing, totally unpredictable moment.

DAMN iNATOR 10-16-2013 11:47 AM

If the Super Rhodes Bros. choose a team name, may I respectfully submit "Golden Rhodes" as a suggestion?

Just a little wordplay on a certain TPiR pricing game...Bob would approve.

A couple of recent things from the Dirtsheets:

Quote:

PWInsider reports that Hulk Hogan has NOT signed with TNA after all. Previous reports had claimed that Hogan had signed a new contract after WWE offered him less money than TNA, but this doesn't seem to be the case. That means that Hogan is still a free agent at the moment.
Quote:

According to F4W, WWE is now looking to hire a Supervising Producer for the WWE Network. This indicates that the company is still pushing forward with the network. The next official update will come October 31st, when the company releases their 3rd quarter financials.

DAMN iNATOR 10-16-2013 03:34 PM

Thought I'd amend my statement of several hours ago by stating that if they get a team name only to have creative put "Team" in front of it, the entire WWE "Creative" staff should commit ritual group suicide.

That ki story is the best. There's also the one at 3pw, where they were behind on paying guys. In a fit of rage low ki tries to kick a door in but the door completely no sells it.

I'm sorry. On second look, it is quite obvious it was directed more at the Daniel Bryan one, and not both of them.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 10:24 PM

Kris P Lettus 10-16-2013 10:25 PM

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 10:27 PM

Lol Jimmy Valient should just randomly show up in complete Boogy Woogy attire.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2013 11:38 PM

Main Event always has at least one pretty good match. :y:

Also, I love Dean Ambrose.

Volare 10-17-2013 12:12 AM

Anyone watch the most recent Triple H "sitdown" with Cole? God Trips is awesome at those.

Also for the record, Big Show doesn't exist, he's now Paul Wight again!

Random rasslin' trivia I just researched out of curiosity... The first heel to close out a WWE/F PPV by winning a singles match?

The British Bulldog. He beat Diesel at In Your House 4: Great White North by DQ ending a streak of 43 WWF PPVs without a heel winning a singles match to close the show (Andre the Giant, Ric Flair and Yokozuna all won closing matches before but they were a Survivor Series match in Andre's case and Royal Rumbles in Flair and Yokozina's case).

The first heel to close out a WWF PPV with a one-on-one pinfall victory was Sid when he beat Shawn Michaels at the 1996 Survivor Series.

Anybody Thrilla 10-17-2013 12:44 AM

When Sid hit Michaels with a camera. I remember being pissed about that.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-17-2013 01:15 AM

Sid wasn't a heel until that moment in the match. It was face vs. face.

Anybody Thrilla 10-17-2013 01:19 AM

I don't remember it that way at all.

Anybody Thrilla 10-17-2013 01:26 AM

Just watched Sid's entrance from that match. The crowd was on fire for him. Crazy.

Bad News Gertner 10-17-2013 02:22 AM

Sid was a big star, he was just frequently his own worst enemy.

Bad News Gertner 10-17-2013 02:31 AM

Funny story that Hacksaw told.

Apparently there was a battle royal at a house show and Bossman and Hacksaw had Warrior in the corner working him over. Well Bossman wrapped Warrior's arm around the rope and Curt Hennig got on his knees and tied Warriors arm tassels to the rope and Warrior couldn't break free so Chief Jay Strongbow had to come down with a pair of scissors and cut Warrior free.

From the dirtsheets:

Quote:

Total revenue from corporate sponsorships was $7.4 million in 2008. Now, after five years of pushing PG publicly, and promising all sponsors that there would be no more risque TV, the number is expected to hit $20 million this year.
Quote:

The reason Barrett has disappeared is because he’s been back in England due to visa issues.
Quote:

HHH has sent the directive to refocus on tag teams. The plan as he laid it out was to first get some teams ready in NXT to bring to the main roster, as well as take some talented guys on the main roster who they recognize are underutilized (for example, Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel was an example put out of guys they’d maybe try and use as a tag team because they are talented and underutilized and they won’t do anything with them as singles) and try and get them going as a tag team.
Quote:

The company is apparently disappointed and puzzled that Brie Bella isn’t more over as a face. She had been a heel who made fun of the faces and called them losers since she came back. She never did a turn. She’s likeable on Total Divas but the audience that watches that show is mostly women who don’t attend Raw. They’ve never played any personality clips of her on Raw that would have you like her. Orton always bad mouths her boyfriend to her face and she never once comes to his defense. And she’s more a whipped dog for the top heels to make feel bad without ever sticking up for herself. And thus, they can’t understand why there wasn’t more sympathy for her when Snuka was beating her up this week.

XL 10-17-2013 03:08 PM

Good news about the tag division. If the focus lasts.

Couldn't understand why they had Tamina beat Brie clean on Raw if they're trying to push her as the title contender.

Heisenberg 10-17-2013 03:08 PM

I just assumed that women turn heel when they are on their "cycle" and you automatically cheer after all is said and done. That's why the Divas/Knockouts are never committed to one side of the spectrum.

If that's the case, Alicia Fox should really see a doctor.

#1-norm-fan 10-17-2013 03:34 PM

Also, they're trying to rejuvinate the tag division! Seriously this time. Ignore the 20 other times it's been said in the past 7 years.

There are other times when he's got no facepaint on and he just looks quite sad.

I always thought he seemed like Ron Pearlman, in some sort of transition of getting his Vincent makeup taken off.

If the Bellas and the Total Divas would remain heel and use their TV show as a way of saying to the fans "we're better than you," that would connect with the fans who don't have reality shows on major networks.

scatterbrain28 10-18-2013 11:03 AM

Tensai has had so many names (Albert, A-Train, Giant Benard) that I just call him by his real name Mike Bloom. Add a berg at the end of it, he'll start slapping sodas out of your hand. If you'd follow New York politics, you'd get that joke.

Lock Jaw 10-18-2013 11:24 AM

Maybe try his real real name of Matt.

Cool King 10-18-2013 11:35 AM

I need to start following New York politics to get this cracker of a joke.

Bad News Gertner 10-18-2013 11:43 AM

Hulk Hogan went to Sydney, Australia once to wrestle so now I call him Crocodile Dundee because the actor who played that character's name was Paul Hogan.

According to Pwinsider.com, TNA and Universal Studios have opened discussions regarding the promotion returning to the old Impact Zone in November to tape several episodes of Impact Wrestling. The word is that the company is looking to tape anywhere from four to six episodes of Impact during the week of November 21st.

The Impact Zone was located at Universal Studios Soundstage 21 in Orlando. At this time, the studio is being used as a Resident Evil haunted house for Universal's Halloween Horrors until November 2nd.
Guess the WWE wasn't able to also get TNA's former spot to go along with their supposed spot for the Hall and new restaurant.

Their road show situation keeps getting worse since they've recently cancelled 3 so far with a 4th expected very soon out of the 12 or so left for the year.

Lock Jaw 10-18-2013 01:58 PM

WHAT'S TNA DOING IN THE IMPACT ZONE?!

A: It's comin' home, it's comin' home, tell the world it's comin' home
