Ol Dirty Dastard 04-18-2019 10:03 AM

does anybody think Vince progressively looks more like Mr. Burns as the years go by?

Volare 04-18-2019 10:09 AM

I'm waiting for his face to complete drop off and he continues as a evil skeleton head leader.

Just wait until he sells another hundred million in stock to fund the Spruce Moose

LOLOLOL

Does that make Kevin Dunn Smithers? Or is that more of a Bruce Prichard thing?

Evil Vito 04-18-2019 11:38 AM

feel like Pat Patterson was Smithers, surely

Innovator 04-18-2019 11:39 AM

Easily Kevin Dunn. Pritchard is this guy:

I understand the connection given Pat's sexual orientation and the character he played on t.v. as a stooge. But I always gather Pat was "untouchable." Less of a sycophant and more of someone Vince came to rely on.

lol I realize I'm looking far too deep into this BUT I take my wrestling AND Simpsons analogies v seriously.

Big Vic 04-18-2019 11:51 AM

So who's Frank Grimes?

Smithers is Howard Finkel. Bossed around, treated like crap at times, has been completely loyal to Vince forever.

omg too true.

But also, relishes his job despite the abuse. Loyal to Vince/Burns is one thing. But straight up being in love with your job throughout the abuse is what links them together.

Droford 04-18-2019 03:42 PM

Didn't know Becky Lynch's Irish dancing debut NXT match was inducted into wrestlecrap lol

Lol so there's some backyarders wrestling at some 4:20 event in town Saturday and I so want to go.

#1-norm-fan 04-18-2019 07:23 PM

Why the fuck wouldn’t you want to go? That sounds more entertaining than anything people jumped on a plane and spent hundreds on travel/lodging/tickets for on WrestleMania weekend.

Bad News Gertner 04-18-2019 07:26 PM

The only reason I wouldn't is because it's about 25 minutes away and I'll be too high to drive

Triple A 04-18-2019 09:54 PM

Dark Side of the Ring Bret Hart episode was pretty good... Jim Cornette and Vince Russo are funny in it as bitter enemies

I had no idea of Cornette's involvement in the Montreal Screwjob.

SlickyTrickyDamon 04-19-2019 12:49 AM

Everybody seems to want to take blame for it. Corny seemed to be the most believable. Russo is a cunt.

The fact he referenced the great Montreal screwjob of 1931 was impressive

He mentioned having a role in it during a shoot interview several years ago but more as a joke and something he didn't think Vince would actually do which is why he was surprised when it actually happened.

Mr. Nerfect 04-19-2019 01:42 AM

Really interesting to find out the finish was Cornette’s.

Bad News Gertner 04-19-2019 08:36 AM

I remember him bringing that up in his 1997 Timeline video he did for Kayfabe Commentaries.

AWESOME fucking video if you havent seen it

Big Vic 04-19-2019 08:45 AM

It's Friday, you know what that means...

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-19-2019 09:42 AM

Yeah I've heard the whole Corny story. I didn't hate the Viceland Screwjob show but it was all rehashed bullshit.

Evil Vito 04-19-2019 09:56 AM

I'm so fucking sick of hearing about the Screwjob more than 2 decades later.

Jordan 04-19-2019 10:00 AM

I don't mind hearing about it. I'll never forget it. I was 10... a mega HBK fan, I was so pumped for this rematch of at that time my favorite match the WM 12 Iron Man Match. The hype and buzz around this match was so tense, I was young but I knew there was something raw about all of it. When McMahon said on the pre show when asked by Cole (possibly his debut) who will win the main event and Vince said "I DON'T KNOW".... something was up.

What a great show. The match itself was a disappointment but it was insane and I'll never forget it. Plus there is always the chance it was a work so it's always interesting.

Volare 04-19-2019 10:35 AM

Richochet's moms house burnt down.

Cornette is so fucking underrated by the internet.

He’s mentioned stuff like getting Shamrock to go in there with Bret, and the suggestion of a double-cross, but I think that’s the first time I’ve heard him say that the HBK gets Bret in the Sharpshooter spot was his. For some reason, I had it in my head it was Pat.
