Yeah dude Lost in Ny was the most fun ever and they seem to all be on the level.
I don’t think they can do deathmatch stuff in Melrose or NYC in general, so Jersey is the home for now it seems.

Cenas gonna cash in his Wrestlemania appearance golden ticket again in the main event to win the women's belts

Wow Ricky Morton with a perfect canadian destroyer. Amazing. Fucking amazing.

Lock Jaw 04-07-2019 12:13 PM

I mean, the Canadian Destroyer is like 90% the other dude doing the work and doing it to himself.... but his did look p good because it had "running momentum" behind it, so it actually looked "more believable" than when it is done from just standing still

I think he's wrestling, it's just supposed to be a 'a surprise'

This doors gimmick so they don't have to buy tables that they did at MLW and like every show except ROH/NJPW this weekend is fucking bullshit.

Which is just SO fucking stupid if it happens. This card is shit. It may very well be the worst WM card ever. It needed some star power to build it up.

I think calling it The worst wm card is a bit excessive. I get it's in retrospect but the first WM card was pretty awful

Fignuts 04-07-2019 02:25 PM

Card itself isn't bad. It's just that most of the builds have been awful.

Mr. Nerfect 04-07-2019 03:07 PM

There’s no excuse for this show to not feel big. The build has been awful. Their new strategy is to “unhype” things so expectations are low.

Mr. Nerfect 04-07-2019 03:20 PM

What’s everyone’s favorite Jumbo Tsuruta match? I’m going to go on a classic puro kick as opposed to subjecting myself to Mania.

I mean, at least this year I actually care about the main event? Bryan/Kofi too, but I'm not sure if that counts as a main event or midcard match. It's a main title match anyways.

Mr. Nerfect 04-07-2019 04:07 PM

I don’t care about the main event, but I don’t blame any of the talent for that. It’s an issue with the product sort of thing.

Jordan 04-07-2019 04:45 PM

I actually do care about the main event, it's just gonna take a long damn time to get there.

Same. I hope the crowd has enough energy left for the finale. I am so excited.

I really hate the way Stone Cold drinks beer. He barely even takesa sip, spilling that thing all over himself.

Tom Guycott 04-08-2019 03:12 AM

Kinda proving my point about timeline inconsistency, the syndicated ROH show is stuff that took place right before G1, so there is a trio of gaijin create-a-wrestlers from "The NJPW LA Dojo" (they all have the same haircut and black trunks and boots, for fuck's sake) going up against Dalton Castle and The Boys. They went from spoiling a "surprise" to airing shit that happened before the PPV that you're not even three days removed from.

Sounds pretty certain. Given how hard she took some of the trolling of her after her UFC losses, and given how often she gets heckled and critiqued by media outlets, etc. -- I can imagine it would not only be very tiring, but kind of frustrating, especially if you just wanted to do some things well, but weren't particularly into fame or being treated like a "star" in the spotlight, but that just came with the territory.

Like, I wonder how many UFC fighters, sports stars and even wrestlers aren't natural extroverts and just have an artistic or competitive drive to do something professionally and at the best level?

Fignuts 04-08-2019 06:43 AM

She doesn't have thick enough skin for this business. That was my first thought when she was signed, given how she took her UFC losses.

Fignuts 04-08-2019 06:50 AM

If she is really gone, I'll miss her.

Loved her physicality, and a lot of her moveset was unique and looked really good.

good way for her to take time off till rumble next year, she is better working like lesner. I don't think becky twitter fight pissed her off enough to quit.

Fignuts 04-08-2019 07:33 AM

Conflicting reports coming out on whether the finish was a botch or not. Big Dave saying that becky pinning Ronda was planned but not the shoulder popping up.

He's explained it. 50% for Steve, 50% for showbiz. It wouldn't look as visually striking if he just drank the beer directly without spilling a drop.

slik 04-08-2019 08:52 AM

Ronda Rousey broke her hand @ WrestleMania per Dave Meltzer.

I think the ref jumped the gun tbh. Should have paid attention to the pin and seen Becky didn't hook it the right way. If he'd just waited literally 2 more seconds it'd have been fine... in a long match not everything is going to go right...

Honestly though, it doesn't actually matter. From what I hear the live crowd was confused by the finish but incredibly happy with the result.

Big Vic 04-08-2019 09:44 AM

Can I see a gif plz?

Evil Vito 04-08-2019 11:39 AM

So overall I went to 4 shows in 3 days. Takeover on Friday night, Wrestling Revolver's Pancakes and Piledrivers at WrestleCon on Saturday morning, G1 on Saturday night, and WrestleMania yesterday.

I'm beyond wiped. That some people come in on Wednesday to catch a show that night, proceed to see multiple shows a day on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Mania Sunday, Raw tonight, SmackDown tomorrow is just mental to me. I honestly cannot imagine having the energy to handle any more live wrestling than what I've gone through this weekend.

I went to 8 shows this weekend. Bloodsport, iMPACT, NXT, Blackcraft, Orange Cassidy, G1 Supercard, Janela's Spring Break 3 Pt. 2, and Mania. Back at work now. Only show that wasn't fun was iMPACT! and that's mainly because they weren't serving alcohol. Everything else was a fucking blast. Def going to as many shows as I can next year in Tampa.

Jordan 04-08-2019 12:12 PM

I did 3 shows in 3 days and that was a lot. I could've probably done matinee shows but I wouldn't have had the same energy that I usually have when I'm at an intimate show. After 8hrs of MLW I had very little voice for NJPW. But I do really enjoy being around so many people who love wrestling and know about it like I do so I may actually go to Tampa next year and do the whole WWE circuit including Access and all that, NXT HOF and Mania, just do it all.

The Kofi match had that progression to the kick and pinfall that you felt building and were prepared for the match to end. I though the women’s match felt like it had more to go and people were surprised it was over. Felt like the live crowd had to process what happened.
