A pretty good Lovecraftian movie with rumors of it potentially being part of a shared universe.

I want to watch this soon

Knives out

9.5/10

Loved this movie.

Also want to state for the record to the posta above.

Cabin in the woods is amazing. My girlfriend never saw it which is weird as she is a horror junkie but i had seen it many times

Remove all the heart of the first film, take the worst/most annoying character and make him the main character/focus....

I've heard Big Fish was good and Batman Returns has aged beautifully.

Destor 03-12-2020 12:09 AM

Big Fish is my fav Burton film

Black Widow 03-12-2020 11:06 AM

Spenser Confidential

Was pretty enjoyable and plus the fact the movie nerds don't like it makes me like it even more

Blonde Moment 03-12-2020 07:57 PM

Loved it, hope there are mor.

Damian Rey 2.0 03-13-2020 01:20 AM

Onward-7/10

Not the best or deepest Pixar effort, but a stellar voice cast and a fun, brisk plot still make it a funny good time with a little emotional heft towards the end.

Seanny One Ball 03-13-2020 08:55 AM

I buckled and bought "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" to watch tonight.
I will write my review afterwards. Will probably take notes during the film like I have the last few times. Seems to make it easier.

Not worth reviewing.

2/4

Seanny One Ball 03-14-2020 04:57 PM

It was very meh

Destor 03-14-2020 06:11 PM

Its exceptional. The cinematography is some of the most jaw dropping shots ive ever seen. There's a oner that i was certain was just clever editing but is infact the most brilliant oner iver seen. Theres 3 oners like that ftr. Its nuts.

Set design, writing, acting. Whole nine. Top shelf.

Destor 03-14-2020 06:15 PM

Cinematography is so good that Richardson should be given best cinematography every year until the day he dies

Damian Rey 2.0 03-14-2020 09:32 PM

Hmm. Personally loved it. What didn't you like, Seanny?

Droford 03-15-2020 12:06 AM

I'd have rather seen Tarantino do an outright western than see bits and pieces of one inside of another movie that was otherwise his most boring movie

Seanny One Ball 03-15-2020 06:09 AM

I just didn't enjoy the storyline that much. The script and the acting were decent enough and it was well shot but the story was just... eh...

Droford 03-15-2020 06:56 AM

SPOILER: show
I hated the end. I get changing what happened on real life since he's done it before but I felt there should have been more a reason for the Manson followers to change their target besides "Rick dalton was on TV a few years ago and killed people, and he was just yelling at us, so we gotta kill him now" instead of what they were planning on for (at least going by the movie) 6 months.

If I was doing it, I'd have had them go to kill Sharon Tate, get spooked by seeing Rick in the pool thinking he saw/heard something even though he was drunk as a skunk and have cliff save him basically like the movie played out.

GD 03-15-2020 03:11 PM

Fuck spoiler tags, am I right?

Destor 03-15-2020 03:55 PM

I typically think any film out of its theatrical run is free game...still i should added the tags when i saw it. Sorry.

So the "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot" movie is fun and all but all the forced meta bullshit is super annoying.

GD 03-16-2020 08:49 PM

Isn't that the movie where the trailer reveals everything? Damn, the reviews seem good.

slik 03-22-2020 03:39 AM

The trailer doesn't give the movie away.

I think the most memorable/best scene in the movie (imo) was not even in the trailer.

I think you would like the film.

Seanny One Ball 03-22-2020 04:08 AM

Would I like it?

Damian Rey 2.0 03-22-2020 04:14 AM

The Foreigner-7/10

Jackie Chan plays a former special forces soldier now in his 60s who suffers immense tragedy after a bombing in London. He goes on a mission to find the bomber, putting him in the middle of the political plotting, backstabbing and leveraging Pierce Brosnan finds himself in trying to play both sides of the Britishand Irish fence. Thoroughly enjoyable if not a bit thin. Sad Jackie Chan might be the best Jackie Chan.

Acting is really great throughout. The writing of the 2nd act is very much a product of its period but its central premise and themes are timeless

1917 - thought the whole "one shot" thing as hyped as it was would still come off as an unnecessary gimmick used to disguise a shitty movie but honestly its one of my favorite war movies.

9/10

I hadn't realized I'd seen it years ago so I'm gonna count it. So unrealistic but it fits the mold for the current hysteria.

Black Widow 03-26-2020 02:54 PM

The Peanut Butter Falcon.

I'll give it a 7/10 don't think it was as good as reviews claimed.

Zombieland Double Tap.

Almost as entertaining as the 1st but not quite.

Zombie land 2 I probably should have watched the first one over again, 10 years is a long time between sequels.
It was ok but maybe not the best time to rent a zombie movie.
6/10
Ford v Ferrari - I'm not big into the type of racing involved but I felt they did a good job with the story elements and the racing. I thought Christian Bale did a better job than Matt Damon. Overall my only criticism is it felt a bit long at a bit over 2 1/2 hours.
8/10

El Vaquero de Infierno 03-27-2020 07:45 PM

Heat 8/10

I think I'd only ever partially seen the film before now, so this was probably the first time I've seen it the whole way through.

To say it is nearly three hours long, it kept me engaged throughout. I'd forgotten about 1990s Al "I'VE GOT TO SHOUT EVERY OTHER WORD" Pacino.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)-8/10

A re watch, obviously. Watched it with my 4 year old daughter, who loved it. Film is criminally underrated and would be a huge hit nowadays. There's little nuances I didn't catch as a mid, like Michelangelo avoiding the idea of Splinter ever being gone. Also, Shredder has one of the best final boss builds in movie history. Fuck me, it's been 30 years and I still love this movie.

Blood Father-7/10

Fast paced, frenetic chase movie about Mel Gibson, an ex con who's sobered up, only to find himself back on the run after gods estranged daughter reaches out to him for help from the Mexican drug cartel. A fun hour and a half of Mel Gibson playing a grumpy, sarcastic old biker.

That scene in TMNT2 where the Yorker's are eating that very cheesy pizza from where Keno works haunts my dreams (morning wood).
