CM Punk DONT GO 07-06-2011 10:36 PM

Starting to get worried.

I really think that CM PUNK is really going to leave. This is terrible news. He is my favorite wrester of alls time. Everyone write him a letter and write vince a letter and tell them get a new contract. This is worse than no NFL because of the locked out.

YoungFlyFlashy 07-06-2011 10:37 PM

Cool.

There's like 3 other threads on CM Punk. Come on guy

Lui Kang 07-07-2011 12:41 AM

I think it goes without saying that the WWE are at a crossroads with CM Punk. Very rarely does the wrestling world get an opportunity to see someone REALLY get pushed to the next level.

Brock Lesnar in 2002, Randy Orton in 2004, and Randy Orton again in 2009 [the year he fought HHH in the main-event at Wrestlemania) are a few examples that come to mind......mainly because they are examples of the WWE shitting the bed. I hope for both CM Punk's and the WWE's sake, this angle is played right....but I'm not very confident thanks to the WWE's track record.

I think it would be interesting if Vince McMahon helped CM Punk defeat Cena at the PPV.

James Steele 07-07-2011 12:50 AM

How in the fuck did they "shit the bed" with Brock Lesnar in 02 or Orton in 04? They gave Orton everything and then some in 04 and he couldn't handle it/wasn't ready for it. Nobody got the push Brock Lesnar got in 02. NOBODY! He destroyed Hogan, Hardyz, The Rock, Big Show, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, and looked like a fucking GOD while being a multiple time World Champion and headlined WM and won in the main event for the title in a year.

They shit the bed with Brock Lesnar in 02' because they turned him face way too prematurely. After Lesnar got a good 'pop' when beating The Rock at Summerslam that year, the WWE blew their load and turned him into a bland face.

The same thing happend to Orton in 04'. After beating Benoit at Summerslam, the WWE got excited by the cheers Orton was getting, and turned him face.

In both instances, both men should have continued to be pushed as heels....regardless of the pops they were getting. This is what the WWE had done with Steve Austin and The Rock before they achieved mega-stardom.

Lesnar should have remained undefeated and heelish until the Wrestlemania main-event....where he should have lost to a face Kurt Angle. After the match, Lesnar could have them destroyed Heyman after Heyman slapped Lesnar or something.....and would have become a HUUUGE face by that point since the fans would literally be creaming their pants at the idea of cheering Lesnar. It also would have motivated Lesnar to strive for something in the future....instead of giving him everything on a silver platter way too soon.

Ditto for Orton. It should've been Orton leading Evolution as a heel after Summerslam.....and HHH making the face turn. It should have been a heel Orton jobbing to Batista in the main-event of 2005.

Orton in 2009 was also poorly booked. He should've been able to punt Stephanie in the head (would have further added to his pyscho character at the time), and he should have gone over HHH. Orton was fucking huge at that point, and the WWE killed his momentum.

Randy Orton wasn't ready for the main event, and he got exposed when he didn't couldn't use Flair/HHH as a crutch.

Too bad Angle had neck surgury after WMXIX and probably wouldn't have been a good option to be champion since he barely was able to compete at WMXIX.

IT MADE NO SENSE for Orton to go over HHH at WM25. Orton did every damn evil thing possible, and Triple H just to get bitched out would have made no sense and a shitty end to WM25. Remember how everybody (some to this very day) complain about HHH (a heel) winning at WM2000.

screech 07-07-2011 01:07 AM

I feel like Orton's character changed too much in 04, which didn't help the fact that he wasn't ready for the main event.

But this has already been discussed so I don't need to go further.

Plus he's become a big star now so what does it matter?

The end of WrestleMania 25 was shit.

I feel it had more to do with the fact that they followed HBK/Taker & Cena/Edge/Big Show as well as the fact that this blood feud had a "If you get DQ'd you lose the title" stipulation.

Shadrick 07-07-2011 12:41 PM

That and it just wasn't a really entertaining match, Steele.

I feel it had more to do with Triple H sucking when wrestling as a face. Remember when he fought Jericho at WM 18? His return pop in MSG was insane because he's highly respected but nobody cared about HHH by WM time in his face run because he's so bland in the ring. He's awesome on the mic but as a heel he needed a hammer to get a pop. As a face all his pops are for his inside jokes and smart mouth but then as soon as any of his matches start the crowd slowly sits down and thinks "oh yeah, this guy is wrestling". All of HHH's greatest matches are because of his opponent(s) - The first chamber, Benoit/HBK at WrestleMania, Austin/Sledgehammer in 3 stages of hell. His greatest match ever is SummerSlam 2002 and thats because it was against Shawn Michaels.

James Steele 07-07-2011 04:01 PM

You are full of shit.

HBPunk 07-07-2011 04:09 PM

Id expect that reaction from somebody who sleeps in HHH's garden. And you clearly have no argument to make against it

James Steele 07-07-2011 04:37 PM

Triple H is so horrible as a face and one dimensional as a heel that he has been a consistent draw for over a decade. You are full of shit.

HBPunk 07-07-2011 04:49 PM

Triple H rode stef to put him on top forever. If he was such a draw then why did millions of people tune out when the real stars (Rock and Austin) bailed. You are full of game

Hanso Amore 07-07-2011 05:34 PM

Im so glad Punk is done in the WWE. I love him but the sheer fact that he will job out and leave when all of these fan boys are so convinced he is going to be a top guy now. I cannot wait to see the Nerd Rage of the Fan Boys.

Triple H was on top of the WWF long before dating Stephanie and he was a star in WWF during that boom period with Austin and Rock. If anything, you could argue Triple H helped keep the WWE from completely tanking.

I think you mentioned that before

The Naitch 07-08-2011 03:00 AM

The <s>WWE</s> universe always sorts itself out...

So we lose Punk, but we gain a new Zack Ryder stable

:shifty:

Poit 07-08-2011 03:07 AM

Does that mean the IWC will start talking about how people should join Zack Ryder's stable?

I agree with this, but I still think it would be cool as hell if Vince "saw the light," cost Cena the match and reformed the Corporation around Punk.

HBPunk 07-08-2011 03:13 PM

wishful thinking but fuckin hell that'd be awesome. and hanso saying that is fucking retarded. if you were a real fan, and not some gimp who wanks over trannies, you would be as pissed off as the next guy. he probly also thinks steve austin sucked and the attitude era was shit

ron the dial 07-08-2011 03:45 PM

if you were a real fan. tremendous.

punk is my favorite wrestler and the guy who got me back into it in 2006, but i'm not pissed at the prospect of him leaving. clearly he thinks it's the best choice if he goes through with it. nothing for me to be upset about.

HBPunk 07-08-2011 03:47 PM

Shawn michaels was the reason i kept watching wrestling thru a dire 1996, when he retired a part of me died. Thats a real fan

ron the dial 07-08-2011 03:49 PM

or a psychopath

HBPunk 07-08-2011 03:56 PM

Its called being a die hard fan you dipshit. you watch sport? I love football (soccer) and if Tottenham Hotspur were finished forever, id never care about the sport in the same way again. I wouldn't care who won what or whatever anymore, it just wouldn't be the same. Like in TV, when a character leaves a beloved show, it isn't the same anymore. You do get this, your just being a cunt

ron the dial 07-08-2011 03:58 PM

i guess i'm just better at looking at the bigger picture than you are.

Innovator 07-08-2011 04:01 PM

When he died a part of me died. But now you're the one. You're the one that's gonna keep his spirit alive. You're the one that's gonna make sure that he didn't die for nothing. Now you're gonna have to go through hell. Worse than any nightmare you ever dreamed. But in the end, I know you'll be the one standing.

HBPunk 07-08-2011 04:03 PM

Nope, you are just the 'typical stubborn internet guy'. When something is pointed out to you that makes sense but goes against what you think you react in an even more ridiculous way. It's happened a lot. What im saying simply is how things are but you will argue to the death against it. Fine so, believe what you wanna, i dont give a fuck about you in any way

HBPunk 07-08-2011 04:05 PM

See what i mean when i say 'typical'? there are many of you gimps
