Droford 03-02-2019 11:04 PM

harley race is supposed to have some form of terminal cancer according to Ric Flair

Its crazy how Flair treated his self and hes probably going to outlive 99% of his contemporaries

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-02-2019 11:07 PM

Nope, I've heard the opposite. He has a non-terminal cancer.

Vastardikai 03-02-2019 11:44 PM

It was terminal, but Harley threatened it by lowering his voice, so it became non-terminal.

DaveWadding 03-03-2019 01:21 AM

New Keith Lee theme is dope.

Black Widow 03-03-2019 04:11 PM

At least they are gonna have to force themselves to be funny without using Trump jokes as a crutch.

Without any context, either Luger simply forgot what to do or he suffered from a random bout of Big Show heel/face turn-itis.

Lock Jaw 03-03-2019 05:13 PM

And what is the context?

Bad News Gertner 03-03-2019 05:27 PM

In late 95/early 96 Lex was with Jimmy Hart and was a heel unless he was around Sting. He was so fucking great. He was basically over-exaggerating all the things people said about Lex (wouldn't look at the fans while slapping hands, arrogant, a prima donna). He's so good.

No clue.

Found the gif at another site and just wanted to make a Big Show face/heel turn joke.

Don't even remember Sting and Luger being tag champs in WCW since apparently the end of their reign happens around the same time I started watching WCW. Like maybe a couple of weeks at most prior to Scott Hall showing up.

Maluco 03-03-2019 06:37 PM

It’s what Gertner said, and it was hilarious! Agree with him that Lugar was underrated as a character. When he was given something decent, I always thought he was really good.

He was a heel, but when he was around Sting, he pretended to be a face. Hence the exaggerated hand tagging when Sting looks round. Very funny at the time and continued the theme of Sting being an idiot (forgiving Flair and teaming with him constantly, only to get turned on again)

Plus at that time the torture rack was so massively over that no matter what Luger did during the match (which was usually just over selling punches) once he lifted his opponent up on his shoulders, everyone lost their minds.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-03-2019 07:06 PM

i like how Sting always gave Lex the benefit of the doubt but when Lex got attacked by the fake Sting it was all "FUCK YOU STING YOU DAMNED TURNCOAT" without giving him a chance to explain.

Evil Vito 03-03-2019 07:47 PM

Like 80% of Jost and Che’s Weekend Update jokes are focused on making fun of Trump so for that reason it’s kinda surprising to see Vince inviting them

He was so great. I remember the Nasty Boys and Harlem Heat were brawling backstage and the fight into an area where Lex is doing his hair and Lex yells "hey, you're going to ruin my sheen" lol.

2000 Lex with Liz was also very funny. Lex is at his most entertaining when he's poking fun at his aloofness

That, and the fact that it is a super-convenient ass cover if he's wrong about something... and that's generally the problem.

There have been infamous bouts of Vince rewriting shows multiple times. And that happening to shows often enough for that to be a thing that is widely known is all well and good, but Dave saying "plans change" comes off as a move of a notorious bullshitter; the guy who just has to be right even if he was way off. It was to a point where there was great disparity between the number of times he'd say "I didn't see that coming" to him saying "well... y'know... plans change".

I'm somewhat inclined to agree, considering that I didn't think that much of either one of these guys in ROH. Dijak was servicable as a "big man", but could have sucked worse than Baron Corbin if he had been overexposed (which he thankfully wasn't). And I was hurting to see the difference between Keith Lee and Shane Taylor... not because they were to big black guys, but because they were both big black guys with football backgrounds and kinda sloppy in the ring (excuseable granted how green they were) and had nothing that really set them apart at all. I would almost say they were easily mistakeable as a "twinsy" tag team, but then I actually remember them being a tag team at one point there with black singlets with only their initials like a generic AoP. They were two guys who were there.

They both have improved. I guess the "Bask in my Glory" thing is getting over, and maybe one day it'll grow on me like Velveteen Dream did, but I dunno. In an unprecidented move, WWE added more letters to Dijakovic instead of changing it or shortening it to just Donovan or something. He moves less lanky and Keith moves more smoothly. And if these two had touched in ROH, that would have been a "big" match with severely less return than this showing in developmental. We'll see how it pans out for them both, but there may be some upside after all.

Neither. She's just there looking pretty and hosting a segment much like we have the new runway model who interrupted her a little bit ago.

Why even bother having wrestlers wrestle on a three-hour wrestling show?

Completely agree. Everyone knows plans change. The issue with someone like Meltzer constantly pointing out this obvious fact is that he makes his living "speculating" on the plans. When he says "plans change" he just comes off as someone who's giving you a fine print disclaimer that he may be completely wrong but in no way is it his fault.

Sepholio 03-04-2019 08:06 AM

I wonder how many times Meltzer (or anyone for that matter) has been wrong about something they ran with and he thought to himself "Oh well, plans change" when in reality he had just been fed utter bullshit by an untrustworthy source.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-04-2019 08:17 AM

Meltzer is as reliable as it gets.
