I was never able to stay connected to NFS for more than 10 - 15 minutes. No other game gave/gives me trouble like that one. I was never able to really play it. Hopefully that changes as it is one of my favorites arcade racers.

After watching Giant Bombs quick look, I pre-ordered Injustice 2 which surprised even me. While I prefer Street Fighters fighting, the metaverse towers with different endings on top of the campaign and the loot game, while training up characters to do CPU V CPU battles.

In Ubis conference call, they announced that Ghost Recon is the biggest selling game of the year so far behind For Honor in 2nd for all formats and companies. Pretty crazy.

I feel like Ghost Recon is terrible on your own or with randoms, but with 3 friends shooting the shit and doing the occasional mission, it fills the same hole Destiny did for a lot of people.
This model is successful to the point where Ubi have said that FarCry 5 and the news Assassins Creed will be service based games too. Wonder how they'll pull that off. Still, the single player narritive game space has been strong this year, but I think most companies are going to be chasing that service money. Thank god Japan found their mojo again to fill the gap some of these games will leave. |
Ugh. I know that multiplayer has been "all the rage" for a very long time, but we need more single player narratives along the lines of Witcher 3 and (flame shield) Fallout 4. Loved the stories to both and both kept me wanting to play to advance the plot.

It's a shame, because I think FF15 was a half decent game with some new ideas that managed to bundle most of it's bad ideas into the Kingsglaive movie spin off. So Square was still able to find a way to make something new and decent. Now they've basically committed to a horrible, horrible time making something that's going to make few people happy.

Though very choppy (another case of 'hot screenshot, poor movement' design) and animations don't blend well with anything you wanna do, this game has a lot of good ideas suffering thru a technical mess. I don't that this is something that can be patched out over time, but a higher budget sequel will be amazing. They should have scaled back on some ideas (a perk system wasn't necessary) but the general gameplay has a few good moments.

Megaman Legacy Collection 2 announced, featuring Megaman 7-10. Dunno why this needed to be split up into two releases. Nevermind that most people that would be interested in this already have mega man 9 and 10.
