Weird, could have sworn I posted this already. I thought War Zone was alright, but it wasn't really that great. Ray Stevenson was excellent though.

Innovator 04-24-2013 04:28 PM

War Zone was closer to what I want to see out of Frank Castle on screen.

Also, the extended director's cut of Daredevil was better than the theatrical release.

Miotch 04-24-2013 07:11 PM

While I do not care for DD as a character, one thing I read did somewhat intrigue me. This could open up the possibility for Iron Fist and Luke Cage to be part of the story line. Love Iron Fist, don't care either way about Cage, but it could be done well in thinking about it.

Blitz 04-24-2013 09:01 PM

Punisher: Warzone had no right to be as good as it was.

Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver?

Miotch 04-25-2013 01:45 PM

That would be incredible.

Lock Jaw 04-25-2013 02:22 PM

SPOILER: show
Certainly would be another case of "What the hell are you doing DC?" if Quicksilver ends up on the big screen before The Flash does.

Also making this the closest Alpha Flight gets to the big screen (at least, that's MY hope).

Shadow 04-26-2013 12:50 AM

....jesus. That's right.

Oh god and one of them's gay!

dronepool 04-26-2013 03:38 AM

I like Daredevil. This is Marvel's best grab since Iron Man IMO.

Going to have to assume there's an image in there that's not loading, as otherwise your post (and Shadow's subsequent post) makes absolutely no sense.

SPOILER: show
If it is Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver I'll be somewhat disappointed, I'd rather see Quicksilver evolve into his heroic state than simply have him 'dropped' into the role which you'd assume he will be if he makes his debut in the Avengers 2, there could have been a nice intro movie for the two of them first in the second generation set as well.

SPOILER ALERT

In the pilot, it’s revealed Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the ultimate super spy, faked Agent Coulson’s death on purpose to motivate The Avengers. Some S.H.I.E.L.D. members were in on it (including, possibly, Maria Hill played by Cobie Smulders) but The Avengers were not. Their security clearance wasn’t high enough. Coulson was forced to hold his breath as part of the ruse and that’s a point of contention among his colleagues After the fact, Fury moved him to a remote location until things died down, and then he was reinserted into duty at the time of the show.

At this moment, several things are unclear about this explanation. First, it’s unclear how Loki piercing him with the scepter didn’t kill him. Also, it’s unclear if Coulson’s return to S.H.I.E.L.D. will be a reveal in the rest of Phase Two or exactly why he was reinstated. What is clear is this plot point is part of a larger story, with more details to be revealed in the show itself. Things may change but, for now, this is the basic story Marvel is going with.

Don't really know how legit of a source this is, whedonesque usually posts solid stuff but they're not claiming it as official news and more "is this the real reason? We'll let you decide." kinda thing.

Pre broken link, it was an image of...
SPOILER: show
Aurora and Northstar, the Wonder Twins of the Marvel Universe. I kinda feel that the "one of them's gay" from Shadow and my quip about Alpha Flight should have narrowed that down quite a bit, even without the intended visual aid.

I'm a bit sad that broke, though. It is, oddly enough, hard to find a decent pic of them together that ISN'T a custom toy job or really shitty fanart.

dronepool 04-28-2013 02:29 PM

So they're filming Amazing Spider-Man 2 by my girlfriends job today.. she sent me these pics.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 SPOILER PICS

Kalyx triaD 05-07-2013 08:07 PM

I didn't wanna know she'd wear that!!!

Lock Jaw 05-07-2013 11:27 PM

The real spoiler is...

SPOILER: show
The "news" is that that ugly getup is almost identical to what Gwen was wearing in the comic books when she was killed.

Kalyx triaD 05-07-2013 11:44 PM

Oh...

Fignuts 05-08-2013 01:02 AM

Vaguely at best

Kalyx triaD 05-08-2013 06:36 PM

Yeah that's pretty damn close.

Rammsteinmad 05-09-2013 07:04 AM

So Gwen likes wearing awful green coats and purple dresses. What's the big deal? She has bad sense of fasion.

DaveBrawl 05-09-2013 09:19 AM

That's why she gets killed. The Goblin is the avenging angel of fashion. Ironically draped in green and purple.

Disney has announced it's first animated Marvel film, Big Hero 6, coming to theatres in November 2014.

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2013 02:30 PM

Nice Disney, this makes so much more sense than POWER PACK.

Lock Jaw 05-09-2013 02:39 PM

It does, actually. Kids love Japanese stuff these days.

Nark Order 05-09-2013 03:13 PM

I got the Marvel subscription again. I need some series to read. Recommendations welcomed.

Innovator 05-09-2013 03:51 PM

Kinda want to pick up Superior Spider-man

Lock Jaw 05-09-2013 04:18 PM

Still catching up on Marvel. Just finished reading The Gauntlet and Grim Hunt stories in Amazing Spider-Man, which is from years ago already. 2010. Good stuff, though.

VSG 05-09-2013 04:36 PM

I am considering getting a Marvel Unlimited subscription, I never was a Marvel comics guy and wanted to know if their digital library has everything from the beginning (origin stories and so forth). Also, is the yearly thing worth it (as in- is there enough good content for an year) or should I just go month-to-month?

It's pretty astounding how much content is on there, tbh. And they add stuff every week.

Miotch 05-09-2013 07:12 PM

What's the cost of that shiz?

VSG 05-09-2013 07:20 PM

10 bucks/month or 60/year

Juan 05-09-2013 07:38 PM

What is this I hear about a S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series on ABC?

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2013 07:42 PM

Very likely to go past the pilot episode for a full season.

Juan 05-09-2013 08:11 PM

Nice

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is slated to take place in Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity, and given the high-profile of the Marvel Studios films it was heavily expected to get a series order. The pilot, filmed earlier this year, was directed by The Avengers' Joss Whedon, and co-written by Whedon and his frequent collaborators Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen. The show stars Clark Gregg, reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson; plus Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Benne, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and J. August Richards, reuniting with Whedon after his 2000-2004 stint on Angel.
