The Seekers - 1/10

Boring pile of worthless crap, with no redeeming qualities.

Triple A 04-19-2011 04:38 PM

I Stand Alone - 8/10

So bleak. By Gaspar Noe (Enter the Void, Irreversible). Pretty much just a movie about a guy who is really fucked and gets released from prison and tries to restart his life but everything is fucked

PorkSoda 04-19-2011 08:49 PM

Armored - 3/10.

This movie should have been called "People Banging On A Steel Pipe Trying To Open An Armored Truck With A Scared And Wounded Cop Inside." Seriously. Although I was really impressed with Columbus Short's acting ability, the whole thing was flat out boring.

Atlas Shrugged Part I: 1/10

Holy fuck, you mean someone actually watched this? And a fucking Socialist at that? Good Lord this movie was boring. The only people I found myself feeling anything for were the token homeless people the main characters were walking past in various scenes, and they weren't given any major roles. I found the actors to be terrible, and their characters to be pieces of shit. I walked out near the end, because my bullshit meter had just exploded over the whole "Government is only gonna allow you to make a certain amount of steel and we're gonna tax the fuck out of Colorado" part. From this whole part, I was came to the following conclusions:

A. Ayn Rand had no fucking clue how business works.
B. Ayn Rand had no fucking clue how the government works.
C. Ayn Rand had no fucking clue how REALITY works.

Seriously, if I had a dollar for every time I thought one of the above during the parts of the movie I saw (I ended up leaving about 5-10 minutes early), I would have been able to fund three different John Galt lines.

Also, did I just zone out and miss the part where Taggart Transportation International (or whatever the fucking train company was called) got a huge bailout from the government?

DrA 04-20-2011 03:54 PM

Can't believe anyone watched it, much less a socialist.

Vastardikai 04-20-2011 06:10 PM

Well, you have to know thy enemy.

Great cast/acting

McLegend 04-25-2011 12:09 AM

King's Speech 8.5/10

Great movie, but it wasn't anywhere near the level of awesomeness that was The Social Network.

I Spit on Your Grave Remake - 6/10

Never saw the original, but the included trailer for the original looked a bit more interesting than what was to come later on. The Sheriff being a bad guy was blatant, the rape scene wasnt as disturbing as I was expecting, and the fact that she goes AWOL for a month and then comes back as the Jigsaw Killer's next protege just doesnt do anything for me. The special effects werent that great either (looking at you, stupid CGI crows).

King Kong vs Godzilla - 3/10

The usual hilarious dubbing, and a rare monster fight that doesn't turn into a squash.

I Love You Phillip Morris - 10/10

Best movie i've seen in a while

mitch_h 04-30-2011 08:08 PM

Morning Glory - Don't know why I watched this, just kinda ended up on my TV. Harrison Ford was good I guess, but the scene where he approaches the corrupt senator was so bad I had to lie down with a hot towel on my head. Overall, pretty boring and felt long even though it was only an hour and forty minutes long.

Kes - Awesome english movie about a troubled kid and his pet falcon. 9/10

Oasis - Korean movie about a troubled, socially awkward guy who falls in love with a girl with cerebral palsy. Awkwardly walks a fine line between good and bad taste (cringeworthy scene where he makes her sing Karoake) but is actually kinda touching without being sentimental. 8/10

Skippord 05-01-2011 04:52 AM

The Other Guys - 7/10

liked it a lot more than I expected, TLC references were amazing.

More of a comedy superhero than a serious one. It even had funny shit dialogues like when Thor's allies showed up on planet earth in costumes, the police agent goes, "Ummm, we have visitors. Jackie Chan, Xena, and Robin Hood." LOLZ.

Also, it was very awkward and out of place of Natalie's character chemistry with Thor... Other than that, it was a cool movie. Anthony Hopkins is a brilliant Odin character portrayal. No nonsense dad, disciplined, strict yet dignified iron clad ruler...

And, despite it was an all in all out moviehouse, there's an extra ending after the end credits. I don't know what it is. I missed it cos the usher told me to get out. Fuck.

6/10.

Battle: LA 19/27 It was a good movie overall, But they could have Focussed on the story a bit more so it'd defiantly not a 27! :nono:

Just Go With It - 3/10 no surprise or twist of any kind at any point, nothing interesting ever happens, nothing particularly funny happens.

Scream 4 - 7/10

I didnt like the double fake opening, which I thought got the movie started out on the wrong foot. The first hour or so was slow to develop but the ending was good and I didnt really see it coming at all. Im pretty sure since it bombed at the box office there wont be another which was what I was worried about.

"THE FIRST RULE OF REMAKES: DONT FUCK WITH THE ORIGINAL!"

that should be like..the law, not just a rule.

No Country For Old Men.

Recommended by a friend and picked it up for less than £3.

I enjoyed it except for the ending.
