Sammy Guevara’s been hanging around with Chris Jericho too much. Using jobber as an insult? Wrestling needs jobbers. To use it incorrectly too. Is there much difference between Sammy and Andrade in terms of their placement on the card? In fact, it’s pretty safe to say that Andrade has actually enjoyed more career heights.

That’s stretching it. I’ve heard Bryan say things in interviews that hints at this being exactly what he wants to do. I think he likes going out there and wrestling long matches and not doing much else.

Yeah pretty much this. I've never gotten the sense he even wants to be champion at this point. He just wants to wrestle, bleed, and call it a career when his deal is up in summer 2024.

Sammy Guevara is terrible. In every aspect. Cutting him loose would be a huge plus for AEW.

Sammy can't promo to save his life, they could do a whole miniseries on Botchamania dedicated to him, he has heat from the crowd and not because of his character, but because he's a cheating POS misogynist with an all time ego, and he seemingly gets tied up in more drama than Punk and The Elite combined.

By all accounts Sammy Guevarra started this by posting it online first and then escalated it physically when he was the first to push Andrade (by this report accounts). Why the fuck was only Andrade being sent home?

Also, Sammy Guevarra is maybe barely a notch more valuable than he was when he first started with AEW. If he disappeared today, it would not affect AEW much in the long term. He is just another flippy spot wrestler who cannot connect with the crowd unless he's paired with Jericho or his wife.

I find it remarkable that despite working with and alongside Chris Jericho for years he still just wants to be the guy who flips off the cage and threw a table by any "fatso" wrestler willing to fake throw him (Eddie Kingston).

Note: I fucking love Eddie, the fat part is just because its literally something Sammy has shoot worked said about Eddie.

Meltzer is reporting that there are legal issues holding up The Elite returning to television. He’s, uh, not doing his buddies any favors there, is he? If there were legal issues, they’d probably be confidential to parties involved, so The Bucks and/or Omega blabbing about this is exactly the point. Unless Meltzer is just flat-out lying, which still makes his buds look bad.

But it’s reasonable to deduce that Punk has got them all by the balls. I’m so curious as to see how this all plays out. Whatever you want to say about Punk, he’s always used the plight of other talent to justify his actions (whether genuine or a smokescreen). A lot of marks on the internet are framing this as Punk being selfish, but I can definitely see him framing it as a cause. Get rid of the toxic management and persuade Tony Khan to better utilize talent using the leverage he’s got. Either that or “let my people go.”

I think the whole legal issues remarks he made are probably more inspired by TK doing an interview a couple days ago and when he was asked about The Elite/Punk in multiple different ways he kept saying something to the effect of "I am not allowed to speak about that matter at this time." The way he kept saying he wasn't allowed is pretty indicative that there is a legal issue at play here currently.

Although in fairness I'm not exactly sure how a legal issue could directly keep them off TV. More likely that the legal issues have led to WBD probably telling him not to put any of them on air or talk about the situation until everything is settled to avoid any potential headaches.

Basically, it isn't the legal issue itself keeping them off TV, it's the optics of the whole thing keeping them away.

Saw people speculating on why Moxley would sign a 5 year with AEW. I'll tell you why: He saw what happened to WCW and he wants to keep drawing a fat paycheck when his job shuts down, too.

I came in to talk about this. Career wise, I'm sure Mox made a very smart financial decision to sign for 5 years. He probably will be set for life more or less. But creatively I can't see how we make Mox AEW's Roman Reigns at this point when we can't really see past the end of the year for potential title challengers. Confusing decision but I support it because Mox is my favorite wrester IRL.

I thought that only happened towards the end. Not everybody had those contracts either, just the top level guys. I think it was only Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Hall, and Nash beforehand. I think everybody else that had a WCW contract was converted after WCW closed only if WWE didn't want their contract and they didn't take a buy out.

Even so, I can't envision Moxley signing a new contract without clauses that guarantee he will still get paid by the Khans even if AEW closed.

Could see him signing just to carry on with garbage wrestling.
